Oldham battle from behind twice to earn promotion to Football League
In front of a record crowd of 52,115 at Wembley, substitutes James Norwood and Kian Harratt scored within the space of two minutes after Leon Chambers-Parillon had restored Southend's lead just seconds into extra time.
An early own-goal from Manny Monthe had given the Shrimpers the lead, but was cancelled out by Joe Garner's penalty after Monthe had been brought down in the area.

Oldham boss Micky Mellon unsurprisingly named the same starting XI which won 3-0 against York in the semi-final, only to see his side concede their first goal of the play-offs with just four minutes on the clock.
Gus Scott-Morriss pounced on a loose pass in midfield and chipped the ball into the area for Charley Kendall to chase and his presence was enough to pressure the unfortunate Monthe to loft the ball over his own goalkeeper.
Garner came close to an equaliser when his header from Tom Pett's corner came back off the post and Oldham felt they should have had a penalty when Mike Fondop went down in the area under a challenge from Harry Taylor.
Taylor did not appear to get much of the ball but referee Elliot Bell waved away the appeals and the Oldham fans suffered more frustration in the last minute of the half as Fondop missed a golden chance to equalise.
A defensive clearance was charged down and left Fondop through on goal, but after clipping the ball over goalkeeper Nick Hayes he could only look on as it drifted agonisingly wide of the post.
It took less than a minute of the second half for Oldham to finally get back on level terms, Garner calmly scoring from the penalty spot after Monthe had been brought down in the area.

Neither side was able to find a winner in normal time but Southend regained the lead just seconds into extra-time, goalkeeper Mathew Hudson parrying a deflected cross from Scott-Morriss straight on to the head of substitute Chambers-Parillon to head into the empty net.
Oldham refused to throw in the towel and Norwood got them back on level terms for the second time when he latched on to a long ball through the middle and took a deft touch around Hayes before slotting the ball into an empty net.

Hartlepool chair calls on clubs to ban Jeff Stelling from boardrooms as row escalates
The broadcaster Jeff Stelling's dispute with Hartlepool United has escalated, with the chair, Raj Singh, writing to the other National League clubs asking them to ban the former Sky Sports presenter from their boardrooms. Stelling resigned as honorary president of Hartlepool in May in protest at Singh's handling of negotiations over the sale of the club, which Singh had put on the market more than two years earlier. Singh appears to have hit back by seeking to ensure that Stelling is denied hospitality at Hartlepool's away matches, which begin at Yeovil on Saturday. 'You may be aware from media coverage that Jeff Stelling has resigned as Honorary President of Hartlepool United Football Club,' Singh wrote in a letter sent last week and seen by the Guardian. 'As Chairman of Hartlepool United Football Club I would kindly and considerately ask that Mr Stelling is therefore not provided with official HUFC dignitary spaces in your Board Room, or equivalent, for any Hartlepool United fixture at your home ground. 'In the unlikely event that Mr Stelling independently attends any Hartlepool United fixture at your home ground, I'd further request that you consider to seat Mr Stelling separately to any HUFC dignitaries or staff.' Stelling resigned after it became clear that a consortium's proposed takeover was not progressing. The group led by the local businesswoman Shirley Hammond is understood to have grown frustrated that talks have stalled. 'I know this is only an honorary role, but it is the best way I felt I could protest against the treatment of the party trying to take control of the club,' Stelling said when he resigned. 'Supporters have been left in an intolerable position with a perceived threat to the future of the club should they not support the current owner.' Singh has since proposed holding a vote among season-ticket holders over whether he should stay in charge, although that has yet to take place. Stelling is a lifelong Hartlepool fan who often used his position as host of Sky Sports' live scores and results programme, Soccer Saturday, which he presented for 29 years until 2023, to promote the club. In 2016 he was appointed as the club's honorary president in place of Peter Mandelson, who was MP for Hartlepool from 1992 to 2004. Sign up to Football Daily Kick off your evenings with the Guardian's take on the world of football after newsletter promotion Singh saved Hartlepool from liquidation when buying the then League Two club and investing £1.8m, but the club have struggled in recent seasons. The Teesside-based care-home owner put the club up for sale after their relegation from the Football League at the end of the 2022-23 season. Singh declined to comment, but a Hartlepool spokesperson told the Guardian: 'Since Mr Stelling no longer holds any position – honorary or otherwise – in the club, but has indicated his intention to attend away games, the club has informed other clubs in the league that he is not attending on behalf of Hartlepool United Football Club.' Stelling declined to comment.

Tyson Fury's huge net worth as Morecambe face going out of business
Tyson Fury has pocketed some life-changing paydays over the last few years - with fans now calling for him to step up and save Morecambe FC Tyson Fury 's private company has assets of over £160million but the ex-world champion appears in no rush to come to the rescue of Morecambe football club. In June, it was reported that the former two-time heavyweight champion is making £218,000-a-day in profits. Newly-filed accounts revealed Tyson Fury Limited reported a £79million profit between September 2023 and last September. Fury's net-worth is almost double the £82million held in the business the previous year. Fury, 36, is the sole director of the company and lists his profession as 'professional boxer'. The accounts show a £100,000 dividend paid to the 'Gypsy King', £50,000 less than he paid himself the previous year. The boxing legend set up his company back in 2013 and the twelve-month period of the accounts predate his retirement following his rematch defeat to Oleksandr Usyk. However, it does include his loss to the Ukrainian last May. The heavyweight giants shared a staggering £150 million for the December fight in Saudi Arabia - which Fury lost on points. With the accounts pre-dating the sequel defeat, it is likely that the Brit's worth has only soared over the last few months. After announcing his retirement earlier this year, Fury has been enjoying life in his beloved town of Morecambe - with his wife Paris and their seven kids. A proud member of the closely-knit community, fans have for Fury to come to the rescue after the local football club were handed major sanctions after failing to meet their financial obligations for the upcoming campaign. The 105-year-old outfit dropped into the National League last season and it was recently announced their first three National League fixtures against Boston, Brackley and Scunthorpe have all be postponed. "It was decided further sanctions must be imposed, with the club's membership to be suspended with immediate effect," the National League recently said in a statement. "The committee will meet again on Wednesday, August 20 to determine if outstanding items have been satisfied, and to decide the club's ability to retain membership in the competition." With the Shrimps now just days away from going out of business, fans are pleading for Fury to step in - after previously claiming he would purchase the club. One fan took to social media to say: "Tyson Fury watching Morecambe... go bust while training at his gym from the ground daily is genuinely mental. Save your local club!" The 'Gypsy King' first expressed his interest in his hometown team back in 2022 after the club were put on the market by Bond Group Investments. "I'm thinking about buying Morecambe Football Club, they're in League One at the moment," he told talkSPORT. "So I was thinking I invest X amount of millions in them. Basically throw it at them and keep them going up. I've been offered to buy Morecambe Football Club. I own all the training facilities anyway and the training gym. So who knows? You might be looking at a football club owner." The Tyson Fury Foundation is located in the north-east corner of the club's stadium, the Mazuma Mobile Stadium. The building also contains a gym within premises that is owned by the former two-time heavyweight champion. When is Tyson Fury's next fight? Last month, it was revealed that Fury will be making a stunning comeback to the ring. Not only that, the Brit even revealed a third date with Usyk had been confirmed. The trilogy showdown is believed to be set for 18 April 2026 at Wembley Stadium. The 36-year-old shared a fight poster featuring him and the Ukrainian on Instagram, captioning it: "April 18, 2026 Wembley Stadium. The trilogy! UK. contact @spencerbrownmrgoldstar for tickets." However, the Brit recently claimed he will "never" fight again, just weeks after it was announced that he was planning to return to the ring. When asked when he plans to fight again, Fury told Sky Sports: "Never. Really! Too old, look at my beard, all grey. Boxing's a young man's game."

Isaac Collins, Brewers bid to stay hot in clash vs. Braves
August 5 - The visiting Milwaukee Brewers will bring the majors' best record into play on Tuesday night when they look to clinch a series victory over the hapless Atlanta Braves. After posting a 3-1 win in the opener of a three-game set on Monday, the Brewers are a season-best 24 games over .500 at 68-44 and hold a three-game lead over the Chicago Cubs atop the National League Central. Milwaukee has won four straight games and 12 of 16 since the All-Star break. For a lineup that produces by committee, helping the cause in the season's second half has been 28-year-old rookie Isaac Collins. Including hitting a three-run homer on Monday, Collins has reached safely in 13 of 15 games since the break, pushing his batting average to .281 and his OPS to .801. Admittedly, Collins has kept an eye on fellow first-year players across the league as he chases a possible NL Rookie of the Year Award. "I mean, it's hard not to acknowledge and think about that stuff, but we've still got two months of baseball left," Collins said. "I just try to take things one day at a time. ... It's not why I play -- it's just a byproduct of executing. Staying process-oriented and not getting so caught up in the results, when you do that, the results show up." Right-hander Freddy Peralta (12-5, 3.08 ERA) will start for the Brewers on Tuesday, looking to rebound from his first loss since June 3. Peralta allowed five runs in four innings against the Cubs the last time out as the Brewers fell 10-3 on Wednesday. In eight career appearances (seven starts) against the Braves, Peralta is 4-2 with a 4.58 ERA. As confidently as Milwaukee is playing, the opposite can be said for Atlanta. The Braves appear to be limping to the finish line after losing nine of their last 12 games to fall 17 games under .500. Each of the Braves' starting pitchers to begin the season are on the 60-day injured list, and the team hopes it can squeeze out another solid start from its midseason acquisition on Tuesday. Joey Wentz (2-2, 5.02 ERA) is slated to make his fifth appearance and fourth start for the Braves on Tuesday after being designated for assignment after 25 appearances split with the Pittsburgh Pirates and Minnesota Twins. The left-hander is coming off his best performance of the season on Wednesday, allowing one hit over 6 2/3 scoreless innings in a no-decision against the Kansas City Royals. Atlanta lost 1-0 in 10 innings. "It's going to be challenging the rest of the year, until we hopefully get a guy back from that group," Braves manager Brian Snitker said of the pitching injuries. "We knew as soon as the last guy (Grant Holmes) went down, it's going to be challenging. Hopefully, these guys can hold up and give us a chance to win some games." Wentz has a 7.20 ERA in four career relief appearances against the Brewers. With Pittsburgh, he threw a scoreless frame against them on May 22 before he surrendered four runs in 1 1/3 innings versus them with the Twins on June 20. --Field Level Media
