BOE and Apple did not respond to requests for comment.
Craig Singleton, a China expert at the Foundation for Defense of Democracies, a Washington think-tank, said Beijing had offered billions of dollars in subsidies, tax breaks and loans to help firms such as BOE dominate global panel production.
"This creates a single-source vulnerability that could be easily exploited to disrupt or degrade U.S. military operations, not to mention undermine commercial supply chains, during a conflict or period of heightened bilateral tension with Beijing," Singleton added.
A study published last month by New York-based NERA Economic Consulting and commissioned by BOE's U.S. subsidiary found that the display industry, which includes major Korean players such as Samsung Electronics and LG Electronics, remains highly competitive, with no single player capable of significantly affecting global prices.
"There is no credible risk of a supply chain disruption by mainland China display manufacturers," the report said.

Aurobindo Pharma Q1 PAT falls 10% on drop in API sales, US market revenue
Aurobindo Pharma on Monday reported a 10.2% year-on-year (Y-o-Y) drop in consolidated profit after tax (PAT) for the June quarter (Q1 FY26), which stood at Rs 824 crore. The decline was attributed to a drop in sales in its active pharmaceutical ingredients (API) business and the United States (US) market. The Hyderabad-based drugmaker had recorded a net profit of Rs 918 crore in Q1 FY25. The company stated that its API business was affected by pricing pressures and geopolitical tensions, with revenues for the segment falling by 16% Y-o-Y to Rs 916 crore in Q1 FY26. However, the drugmaker recorded a 4% Y-o-Y rise in revenue from operations, reaching Rs 7,868 crore in the June quarter, up from Rs 7,567 crore in Q1 FY25. This increase was primarily driven by a 7.4% Y-o-Y rise in the drugmaker's formulations business revenue, which contributes around 85% of the company's overall revenue. Aurobindo Pharma saw an 18% Y-o-Y revenue growth in European markets, which stood at Rs 2,338 crore, driven by a strong performance across all key markets. Similarly, revenue from growth markets formulations increased by 8.8% Y-o-Y to Rs 772 crore in the June quarter, compared to Rs 709 crore in the same period last year. However, the company's US formulations business, which accounts for 44% of its revenue, saw a marginal 1.9% Y-o-Y dip in sales, from Rs 3,555 crore in Q1 FY25 to Rs 3,488 crore in Q1 FY26. According to the company's regulatory filing, the decline in US revenue was primarily due to a significant reduction in sales of the anti-cancer medication lenalidomide. Commenting on the company's performance, K. Nithyananda Reddy, Vice Chairman and Managing Director of Aurobindo Pharma, said that the company has started FY26 steadily, with its European business maintaining strong growth momentum and the core US business showing resilience despite temporary challenges from destocking and seasonal dynamics. The company announced its results after market hours. On Monday, Aurobindo Pharma's shares rose marginally by 1.04%, ending the day's trade at Rs 1,090.90 apiece on the exchanges.

Review of OBC quota, Bhandari Samaj demands after census: CM
Porvorim: Chief minister Pramod Sawant on Monday told the House that the 27% reservation for Other Backward Classes (OBCs) in Goa and the demand of the Bhandari Samaj for a quota for its members within the OBC quota can be considered after the national census gives a clearer picture in 2027. The assurance came after a heated debate between the CM and opposition MLAs over job reservations for OBCs. Sawant also said that post-graduation seat reservations will be notified this week. Fatorda MLA Vijai Sardesai expressed doubts about the OBC survey carried out earlier by the Pune-based Centre for Development Planning and Research.'The Bhandari Samaj itself forms nearly 60% of the Hindu community. How can OBCs be only 27%? The samaj thinks there is a mistake,' said Sardesai. He also asked the CM to consider the samaj's demand for a quota for its members within the OBC quota. Social welfare minister Subhash Phaldesai said more communities were added to the state's list of 19 communities, and that reservation was increased from 19.5% to the current 27% in 2014. He also said that presently, departments get their rosters verified only if there are vacancies and added that a circular will be issued to ensure that posts are verified regularly.

Learning a foreign language, life skills must for BE, BTech students
Chennai: Learning a foreign language, life skills, and industry-oriented courses are mandatory for all BE and BTech students who are going to join engineering colleges this year in the state. Anna University 's academic council on Monday approved academic regulations 2025 for BE and BTech programmes offered in around 300 affiliated colleges. According to the new regulations, students must study any one of the foreign languages — German, Japanese, Korean or Dutch — in the second semester. While autonomous colleges are offering foreign language courses, the university has now made it mandatory for affiliated colleges. It has also introduced life skill courses such as patent filing, industry safety norms, welding process, and electronic components in the first two semesters of BE and BTech programmes. The new regulations also allow the affiliated colleges to offer two industry-oriented courses. These will be one-credit courses that can be taught for 15 hours in a semester.
