Kajol is all set to come back with a bang on the big screens. Her performances are loved on screen, and this time the actress will be seen in a whole new avatar in a horror movie. The movie Maa is set to hit the big screens on June 27. As the promotional events of the movie kick-started, Kajol opened up about several anecdotes which shook everyone and at the same time made them laugh too. The actress revealed the pros and cons of working with husband Ajay Devgn.
In another conversation with Bollywood Hungama, Kajol jokingly said, 'What should I say about this producer? He has harassed and troubled me a lot! No one will believe it (laughs).' However, after this fun joke, she immediately became serious and said, 'No, he was a great producer. I have to say this.'
Kajol recalled a special conversation with Ajay, where they talked about gender roles. She said, 'My husband Ajay ji once told me that you are very lucky. You don't know how lucky you are. You can become Nysa's friend. You will also become a grandmother one day. You are a mother. You have been my wife. You have played all these roles very well and naturally. You did not have to make any special effort. But today, being a man, I have to work hard to play all these roles.' Kajol further said, 'Women are taught this since childhood. We adjust so easily.'
Coming back to the trailer of Maa, this is the first horror movie of Kajol. Interestingly, the film is a mythological horror film. Kajol stars alongside Ronit Roy, Indraneil Sengupta, and Kherin Sharma.
Directed by Vishal Furia and written by Aamil Keeyan Khan and Saiwyn Quadras, Maa is produced by Kajol's husband, Ajay Devgn. Kajol is also involved in other projects, including The Trial Season 2.

NEW DELHI: Maa, a mythological horror film starring Kajol, has earned Rs 25.41 crore gross at the worldwide box office during its first weekend, the makers said on Monday. Directed by Vishal Furia, best known for Lapachhapi, Criminal Justice and Chhori, the film is written by Saiwyn Quadras. It released in theatres on June 27. Presented by Jio Studios and Devgn Films, the film is produced by Jyoti Deshpande and co-produced by Kumar Mangat Pathak. The makers shared the box office numbers on the X handle. "Mytho horror wins big. Total worldwide GBOC of 25.41 crore," read the text over the film's poster. The film opened with Rs 4.93 crore nett at the domestic box office and went on to collect Rs 6.26 crore nett and Rs 7.24 crore nett on the following days. The total domestic box office collection of Maa stands at Rs 18.43 crore nett. "When Mytho met Horror, the audience couldn't look away! #MaaTheFilm in cinemas now. Book your tickets here," read the caption of the post. The film narrates the story of a mother who becomes Goddess Kali to end a demonic curse rooted in fear, blood, and betrayal.
