Victoria Beckham Reacts To Husband David's Knighthood With Emotional Message

Yahoo17-06-2025
Victoria Beckham sent husband David a sweet message following the news that he received a knighthood in the King's Birthday Honours list.
Over the weekend, Victoria celebrated the news that the former England striker was being given the title Sir David for his contributions to sport and charity.
Sharing a picture of herself embracing her husband on Instagram, the fashion icon wrote: 'You've always been my knight in shining armour, but now it's official.'
'What an honour,' she continued. 'I couldn't be prouder of you. Your dedication to the things that matter most – your country, your work, your passion, and most of all, your family – has never wavered. The way you've touched so many lives over the years with kindness and humility speaks volumes about the man you are and continues to inspire us everyday.
'But above all else, I'm so, so proud to call you mine. I love you so much.'

Like Sir David, Victoria later also posted a Father's Day message that mentioned all four of their children, including eldest son Brooklyn Peltz Beckham, who is thought to have distanced himself from the rest of the family in recent history.
In his post, Sir David wrote: 'My most important and favourite job in life is being a dad... I'm so proud of all of you and like daddy (sorry boys) tells you every single day, I will always be here for you no matter what.'
He added: 'I love you kiddies more than you could imagine.'
Sir David's younger sons Romeo and Cruz both quickly popped up in the comments, while Brooklyn notably did not (the football legend and his wife are also parents to a teenage daughter, Harper, who does not have a public Instagram).
Brooklyn was first reported to have fallen out with his brother back in April, and was not present when his dad celebrated his 50th birthday with the rest of the Beckham family last month.

Friends star to lead cast of TV show based on 'best autobiography ever written'

A 'heartbreaking' and 'hilarious' memoir by a Nickelodeon child star is about to be turned into an Apple TV series - and a Friends legend will star. I'm Glad My Mom Died, released in 2022, was penned by Jennette McCurdy who shot to fame in 2007's iCarly after a number of smaller roles. She later starred in spin-off show Sam & Cat alongside Ariana Grande. The book quickly rose up the charts following its release with McCurdy praised for her candid and witty writing. The autobiography goes into great detail about the young star's abuse at the hands of her mother and the trauma she endured in her pursuit of an acting career. "I feel I didn't have the tools, language, or support necessary to speak up for myself back then, so this book is a way for me to not only honor that experience and give voice to my former self, but hopefully to encourage young people to speak up for themselves in environments where they may be conditioned to just 'play ball' and 'be a good sport'." Now a 10-part series inspired by the memoir has been announced by Apple TV. Described as a dramedy, the series will star The Morning Show and Friends legend Jennifer Aniston in an as-yet undisclosed role. Aniston is also co-producing the project, while McCurdy will write, produce and showrun. Fans have flocked to social media to share their thoughts on the announcement, with one penning: "Jennette's book was so heartbreaking and brutally honest but essential reading. Fingers crossed this show does the book justice." A second fan shared: "This is going to be a lot to watch but I'm happy for Jennette if this is what she truly wants to do." Meanwhile a third added: "I don't like that it's 'inspired by' and not 'based on'. I hope they don't mess up the story." Avid readers have given the autobiography a near-perfect score on book review site Goodreads, and the title was even crowned 'Readers' Favourite Memoir & Autobiography' in the 2022 Goodreads Choice Awards, alongside its status as a New York Times bestseller. A release date is yet to be announced for I'm Glad My Mom Died

Watch: Rob McElhenney explains name change to 'Rob Mac'

1 of 3 | Rob McElhenney, now Rob Mac, arrives for the Primetime Emmy Awards in September. He explained the reason for his name change in an Instagram video Tuesday. File Photo by Chris Chew/UPI | License Photo July 2 (UPI) -- It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia creator and star Rob McElhenney is changing his legal name. The actor, 48, explained why he is now going by Rob Mac in a video he shared to Instagram Tuesday. "Yes, I'm shortening my name to Rob Mac. Mostly a stage name, but I digress. Is it kind of douchey? Sure, but the amount of time that I have wasted trying to get people to either say or spell my name correctly is literally days of my life. Trust me, I added it up," he said. He assured fans the name change has nothing to do with family estrangement. "I love them and I want to stay connected," he said. He clarified, however, that the spelling of his surname has changed several times over the generations. "Most people already call me Rob Mac anyway," he added. He first announced the news in a story for Variety. TMZ reported last week that the actor had filed the documents for his name change in Los Angeles.

Kate Beckinsale says she's going through ‘deeply painful' time after fan questions her weight loss

Kate Beckinsale had an alarming response after a follower questioned her apparent weight loss on social media. On Tuesday, the Underworld actor, 51, shared a post on Instagram that included several images of herself in bikinis. 'Oh sweetheart, I honestly think you have a problem!!!' one follower wrote in the comments of the post, which has since been deleted. 'You don't look good. I think you honestly need help.' The Van Helsing star responded candidly, 'Yes I do. I'm going through one of the most deeply painful times of my life. The body keeps the score.' According to Page Six, which shared images from Beckinsale's post, the actor hinted at turmoil in her caption, which also included photos of her pets and daughter Lily Mo Sheen, 26. 'Girls trip with my girls,' Beckinsale wrote. 'This is not an accurate depiction of how life is right now but a brief and precious reprieve from other things for which I am extremely grateful x.' The Independent has contacted Beckinsale's representative for further comment. Beckinsale previously hit back at comments about her body in January. In a since-deleted post, one person wrote, 'It's not a criticism, but I think you've lost too much weight lately.' The actor responded, 'If it's not a criticism, it's a passive aggressive completely unnecessary opinion from someone I don't know who knows nothing about my circumstances. So next time you feel like commenting on someone's body, I suggest you keep it to your f***ing self.' While it's not clear what Beckinsale is referring to by 'painful times' in her life, she recently shared a tribute to carers amid her mother's stage 4 cancer diagnosis. 'While looking after an elderly, sick or disabled relative is instinctive for many , even the most committed face enormous physical , emotional and financial struggles,' she wrote on Instagram two weeks ago. 'It is emotionally draining to live in a constant state of worry, on top of the inevitable change in relationship with someone previously independent and well. Trying to work and manage care is an almost impossible struggle ,particularly if one has no siblings or family to take the strain -and , as with most traumatic life events , a lot of people prefer to keep their distance from the subject of illness and mortality so one can often find oneself with no support system. Up to 77% of carers become suicidal.' She concluded her post: 'For anyone out there struggling , I send my love and support. This is so hard.' The actor revealed her 77-year-old mom Loe's diagnosis last July in response to another critique of her body. After someone commented on a since-deleted Instagram post telling her to 'go do some squats,' the star shut them down and got candid about how grief and family health struggles — including the January 2024 death of her stepfather, Roy Battersby — had impacted her appearance. 'No, actually, I watched my stepfather die quite shockingly, my mother has stage 4 cancer, and I lost a lot of weight from stress and grief, quite, quite quickly,' Beckinsale responded in part. Beckinsale also endured health struggles of her own last year, later revealing she spent six weeks in hospital due to a hole in her esophagus. She added that she 'experienced a severe flare of mast cell disease,' which was 'mitigated by stress, shock, and grief.' 'That's what I am prepared to disclose that has contributed to some weight loss,' she continued on Instagram, in response to yet another comment. 'What you think of my appearance and how I should look, independently of any circumstances in my life and my family's is not important.'
