Metro In Dino box office collection day 4: Aditya Roy Kapur, Sara Ali Khan's musical tanks on Monday, still hasn't hit Rs 20 crore

A day after it surpassed the lifetime box office collection of Anurag Basu's 2007 romantic anthology Life.. in a Metro, the spiritual successor Metro… In Dino saw its first decline in daily earnings on Monday, its fourth day at the domestic box office. The film made less on Monday than it did on its opening day of release. On Monday, Metro… In Dino collected Rs 2.5 crore, which is quite a steep decline from its Sunday (day 3) earnings of Rs 7.25 crore. The Sunday collection registered a spike from the Saturday (day 2) earnings of Rs 6 crore, which was a further increase from the Friday (day 1) collection of Rs 3.5 crore. As per industry tracker Sacnilk, the current box office collection of Metro… In Dino in India stands at Rs 19.25 crore. In the process, the film has managed to surpass the lifetime domestic earnings of Sonu Sood's directorial debut Fateh, which made Rs 18.87 crore earlier this year. It's come close to beating the lifetime domestic earnings of Kangana Ranaut's solo directorial debut Emergency. The period political thriller collected Rs 20.48 crore earlier this year. Metro… In Dino continues to face stiff competition from RS Prasanna's coming-of-age sports comedy Sitaare Zameen Par, starring Aamir Khan, which released in cinemas on June 20. While the new release took over the holdover release this past weekend, Sitaare Zameen Par earned Rs 1.35 crore on Monday, its 18th day since release. But two Hollywood tentpoles remain the biggest money-spinners in India. Gareth Edwards' sci-fi action adventure thriller Jurassic World Rebirth, starring Scarlett Johansson, earned Rs 4.25 crore on Monday, its fourth day at the Indian box office. Even Joseph Krasinski's action thriller F1, starring Brad Pitt, earned Rs 2.5 crore, as much as Metro… In Dino did on Monday, on its 11th day at the Indian box office. Metro… In Dino is a musical romantic anthology that revolves around the bittersweet relationships of four couples, played by Aditya Roy Kapur-Sara Ali Khan, Ali Fazal-Fatima Sana Shaikh, Pankaj Tripathi-Konkona Sen Sharma, and Anupam Kher-Neena Gupta. It's backed by Anurag Basu Productions and Bhushan Kumar's T-Series. In an exclusive interview with SCREEN, Basu admitted that Metro… In Dino is lighter than its predecessor, Life.. in a Metro. 'When I was writing, the stories that came to me were lighter. It's not like I planned it as a lighter film. It just turned out to be that because of the stories,' he said. Also Read — 'Anurag Basu wanted me to compose for Saaya too, but Mahesh Bhatt didn't want to bet on a rank newcomer': Pritam Life… in a Metro starred Shilpa Shetty, Kay Kay Menon, Kangana Ranaut, Sharman Joshi, Dharmendra, Nafisa Ali, the late Irrfan Khan, and Konkona, who's the only returning cast member in Metro… In Dino. 'I didn't know who else is going to be there this time. I just knew Irrfan won't be there, and that broke my heart,' she told SCREEN in an exclusive interview.

Will need to come up with answers for Gill: Butcher

Bharat SharmaLondon: Shubman Gill's technically sound game and serene temperament has left quite an impression on former England opener Mark Butcher, who feels the Indian Test captain has taken ownership of Virat Kohli's number four spot quite comfortably despite the 'enormous scrutiny'. Butcher, who has been commentating in the ongoing India-England Test series, has been left in awe of the visitors' batters especially Gill, K L Rahul and Yashasvi Jaiswal. All three go to Lord's for the third Test starting July 10 with hundreds against their names. Gill's staggering performance includes three hundreds and has catapulted his average into the 40s from mid 35s in just two Tests. Speaking to PTI, Butcher said what Gill has done in his first series as captain is beyond special. 'There aren't many jobs in world sport that come with as much pressure and scrutiny as being Indian cricket captain, right? Not to mention you're filling in Kohli's spot in the order, or Tendulkar's spot in the order (both held number four spot). 'So the pressures were enormous. And so far, he's taken to it like a duck to water. He's just looked very, very comfortable, very serene in terms of his temperament,' said the 52-year-old, who played 71 Tests for England between 1997 and 2004. There were some questions over Gill's temperament and technique ahead of the series but the 25-year-old shut that debate for the foreseeable future with 585 runs in four innings. 'And technically, he's played beautifully as well. So what a great start to the series. I mean, he might have some records in his side by the end of it. He's passed enough already. So what's he got? 600 already in the series. It has been an incredible start. 'And England will have to come up with an answer for him in that middle order, because they obviously feel, that you get past the top three or then there are bounties to be had a bit further down the order,' he said referring to India's brittle lower-order.

Aamir Khan To Begin Dadasaheb Phalke Biopic With Rajkumar Hirani: Report

Last Updated: Aamir Khan and Rajkumar Hirani are teaming up for a biopic on Dadasaheb Phalke, the father of Indian cinema. Aamir will play the lead. Aamir Khan and Rajkumar Hirani are all set to work together again, and this time, it's for a special project. They are shooting a biopic on Dadasaheb Phalke, the man known as the father of Indian cinema. According to reports, Aamir will be playing the lead role in the film, which will be directed by Hirani. This marks the third time the actor and director are teaming up. Their earlier films, 3 Idiots and PK, were big hits and loved for their mix of fun, emotions, and meaningful stories. The life of Dadasaheb Phalke is an important chapter in Indian film history. He made Raja Harishchandra, India's first full-length feature film, back in 1913. Telling his story on the big screen will be a big moment for Indian cinema. In a recent interview, Aamir responded when asked if humour would also find its place in the Phalke biopic. He said, 'I think Raju and Abhijat (Joshi, writer) have a special leaning towards comedy — and so do I. All three of us really like humour, and I think that's the genre Raju enjoys most: drama with humour. So this will probably fall into the same space." Filming for the much-anticipated Dadasaheb Phalke biopic is expected to kick off in October 2025. Aamir Khan will begin prepping for the role shortly after the release of his current film, Sitaare Zameen Par. According to reports, the team is leaving no stone unturned to ensure authenticity. FX studios in Los Angeles have already created AI-powered visual references to help recreate the time period of the story. Interestingly, the script has been in the works for over four years. It's being shaped by a talented writing team, including Rajkumar Hirani himself, along with Abhijat Joshi, Hindukush Bharadwaj, and Avishkar Bharadwaj. Meanwhile, Sitaare Zameen Par is a sports comedy drama film produced by Aamir Khan and Aparna Purohit. Aroush Datta, Gopi Krishna Varma, Samvit Desai, Vedant Sharma, Ayush Bhansali, Ashish Pendse, Rishi Shahani, Rishabh Jain, Naman Mishra and Simran Mangeshkar will make their Hindi cinema debut with the film. The film also boasts a strong supporting cast with seasoned performers like Dolly Ahluwalia, Gurpal Singh, Brijendra Kala, and Ankita Sehgal. The story centres on Gulshan, a former star basketball coach portrayed by Aamir Khan, who is ordered to coach a group of neurodivergent children as part of his community service following a DUI offence. What starts off as a begrudging assignment soon evolves into a life-changing experience for both him and the team. Genelia Deshmukh plays Sunita, Gulshan's supportive wife. First Published:
