Reform will be ‘toughest' party on crime ever, Farage to say
Nigel Farage is set to announce a series of tough-on-crime measures on Monday as he seeks to set out more of Reform UK's policies, it has been reported. The Reform leader is expected to use a speech in London to vow to cut crime in half, declaring his party to be 'the toughest party on law and order this country has ever seen', according to The Daily Telegraph. Among his promises will be a pledge to recruit 30,000 new police officers; end early release for prisoners convicted of serious violent, sexual or knife offences; and deport 10,400 foreign offenders currently in British jails. He will also propose a major prison-building programme aiming to provide an extra 30,000 places to alleviate the prison overcrowding that prompted the Government to expand early release schemes. Mr Farage will say: 'We will cut crime in half. We will take back control of our streets, we will take back control of our courts and prisons.' But he will face questions over how he will achieve this, given his already significant spending promises and the need to negotiate returns agreements for foreign offenders. His speech comes amid rising concern about crime in Britain, with The Sun On Sunday reporting that a recent Survation poll found 49% of people thought the UK was 'becoming a lawless country'. Overall, crime has generally fallen over the past decade, but rose last year driven mainly by sharp increases in fraud and theft. Dame Diana Johnson, the policing minister, said: 'If Nigel Farage was serious about making our streets safer, he should have backed the tough new laws we introduced earlier this year. 'It's shameful that Reform constantly seeks to undermine confidence in our police and criminal justice system and voted to try to block measures to crack down on knife crime, anti-social behaviour, shop theft, child sexual abuse, and long overdue action to tackle the scourge of violence against women and girls. 'They should focus more on practical solutions to support our police, combat crime, deliver justice for victims of crime, rather than chasing headlines, spouting slogans and trying to divide communities.'

EXCLUSIVE Revealed: Taliban kills 10 Afghans who helped the West in days after the data leak disaster
Taliban assassins have murdered at least ten Afghans who helped the West in the days since the Government revealed data of thousands who worked for the UK had been leaked. Four were killed in one execution this weekend, their bodies dumped in a ditch in a field, while another four have been killed separately after being forced out of Iran where they had been hiding. It is unclear if any of the dead were among the 100,000 'at risk of death' impacted by the data breach but the executions mark a dramatic increase in killings. Campaigners were checking reports the four killed in Badakhshan, some 200-miles north of the capital Kabul, were ex-Afghan Special Forces who had fought beside the UK and its allies in the 20-years of war with the Taliban. If correct, they say, one or more may have applied for relocation under the Afghan Relocation and Assistance Policy (ARAP) – meaning their details could have been among those leaked. Meanwhile, concerned British lawyers for Afghans hiding in Iran while their cases go through the courts in London or awaiting a decision from ARAP were urgently trying to verify if their clients are among those killed after being sent back to Afghanistan. Among the harrowing stories coming out on Sunday was the shooting on a crowded street in Kandahar. A bleeding man was filmed making a phone call naming his Taliban killer. He died soon afterwards. It is not known if the Taliban actually has the database (pictured), which contains the details of those who worked for the UK Hours later, a former military commander, who served beside US forces, was also shot dead taking the known total of killings in recent days to ten. On Saturday, the Mail revealed how vengeful warlords have embarked on a killing spree. One of the victims was the brother of a former Afghan soldier, who fled to Britain and is said to be on the dataset. His family believe the killing was linked directly to the soldier's work for the UK. It is not known if the Taliban actually has the database, which contains the details of those who worked for the UK. Defence sources say it also exposes members of the British intelligence community and Special Forces. The Taliban has been quoted as claiming to have obtained it, since the data leak was revealed last Tuesday when the High Court lifted a super-injunction which had placed a two-year news blackout on the scandal. Former interpreter Faiz, 39, who spent five years on the frontlines beside UK forces, said: 'Everyone is terrified. 'Arrests and killings have increased, it is as if the Taliban is taunting us... surely, the escalation in executions is linked to what has emerged in the UK.' Faiz, who is in hiding with his wife and children, said he had narrowly escaped arrest on Saturday when four heavily armed Taliban fighters came to search the house where he is hiding. He has confirmed his details are on the leaked database and said: 'I am a marked man and will be killed if I am found. 'If the Taliban have the dataset, it will help them find me because of the specific details contained. 'In 2017, I was the translator for British Forces when they questioned a commander. 'He is now free and has posted my details on Facebook demanding I be handed over for "punishment". 'I hope the UK will rescue me before it is too late.' Former translator Rafi Hottak, who was blown-up on the frontlines and now campaigns for those left behind, said: 'The increased killings are linked to the admission by Britain it has lost the dataset. 'We do not know for sure if the Taliban has the data from the leak but we do know some of those named have been executed.'

Man brutally beaten up by friend, stripped naked and paraded through village while neighbours filmed him
A MAN has been jailed after brutally beating up a friend and parading him naked through the streets. Thug Karl Griffins, 42, received a huge sentence after the horrifying ordeal was caught on camera by neighbours. 3 3 Swansea Crown Court heard that Griffins spent much of the day and evening of January 30 at a friend's house in the Welsh village of Penclawdd. According to prosecutor Crag Jones, Griffins received a phone call and left the flat before returning and locking the door behind him. Then, he told everyone inside that they couldn't leave. Next, the court heard that he took the phones of his friend and his friend's partner and accused them of stealing from them though it was unclear whether he was accusing them of stealing money or drugs. Griffins refused to return the couple's phones and then beat the pair with his friend's girlfriend's crutches. The court heard that he punched his friend in the head, before demanding that he removed his clothes. Reportedly, Griffins told his friend that they were 'going for a walk' and 'paraded him naked around the streets'. Mobile phone footage of the victim near the Penclawdd CK store was recorded during the ordeal, before Griffins returned his friend to the flat. The 42-year-old smashed his friend's TV before calling the police and saying: 'Someone better come and get me, I'm going to kill someone.' Griffins was arrested and told authorities that he had gone to his friend's house after arguing with his mother. Moment riot cops smash shield into man's face and 'knock his teeth out' in clash after migrant 'sexually assaulted' girl He accused the friend of stealing from him and admitted to parading him naked in a bid to humiliate him. Before appearing in the dock for sentencing, Griffins pleaded guilty to a slew of crimes including battery, assault occasioning actual bodily harm, criminal damage and kidnapping. The 42-year-old was then slapped with a 31 month prison sentence, with half of his sentence to be served behind bars. His defence said that no disagreement between Griffins and his friend "could not remotely justify the level of humiliation and violence" caused by his client. He added that it was clear in the video footage that the victim was distressed as "he was marched through the centre of Penclawdd in a state of undress". Griffins' defence said that his client's actions could be explained through him being intoxicated and that he was now facing his addiction to controlled drugs. The 42-year-old has been granted enhanced-prisoner status at HMP Swansea and allegedly hopes that his former friend can forgive him in the future. Griffins has a history of criminal activity, including non-domestic burglaries, supplying Class A drugs and weapons offences. 3
