Celebs brought their hair A-game, showing off styles we loved. From bold afros to chic pixie cuts that perfectly complemented their sophisticated ensembles, some of our favorite stars had heads turning.

An iconic symbol of Black pride and culture, afros and big hair were all over the carpet. Lauryn Hill gave us regal, unapologetic Black queen vibes with a perfectly picked-out afro forming a halo that crowned her sunshine-yellow Thom Browne suit. Her black-and-white Robert Wun tuxedo gown featured a dramatic mermaid bottom, white shoulder cape, and deep neckline, creating an elegant silhouette topped off with those glossy, vintage curls.

The superstar continues to make history as the 'Cowboy Carter' tour becomes the highest-grossing country tour ever. According to numbers reported to Billboard Boxscore, the 'Cowboy Carter' grossed $407.6 million and sold 1.6 million tickets. The multi-Grammy award-winning artist concluded the tour with a bang, with performances at the Allegiant Stadium featuring Shaboozey, Jay-Z and Destiny's Child for surprise performances. The artist's Act I, 'Renaissance World Tour' grossed approximately $580 million. Billboard reports that the artist joins artists like Coldplay, Ed Sheeran and The Rolling Stones. The 'Renaissance World Tour' still holds the record of being Beyoncé's highest-grossing tour, expanding over 56 tour stops and selling 2.8 million tickets. The 'Cowboy Carter' album also gave Beyoncé her first Album Of The Year award win at the 67th annual Grammy Awards– a win fans have said has been a long time coming. The singer has expressed how her country album was a personal testament to her roots– as a Black woman born and raised in Texas and paying homage to Black country trailblazers like Linda Martell and young country artists like Shaboozey, Tanner Addell, Reyna Roberts, Brittney Spencer and Tiera Kennedy. Supermodel Iman's Best Beauty Moments on the Runway From 1981 to 1989
The paragon supermodel doesn't just model the clothes they're dressed in; they chameleon into the character they were made for, hair, makeup and all. This is something that came easily to Somali supermodel Iman, born Iman Mohamed Abdulmajid, a skill she inherently possessed as the muse to the biggest names in fashion, from Yves Saint Laurent to Thierry Mugler. From the start of her career in 1975, Iman has been praised for her ability to exemplify the complementary yet intricate relationship between fashion and beauty, both on and off the runway. She quickly catapulted to stardom beyond the high-fashion stratosphere, becoming the first Black model to secure a makeup contract under Revlon's Polished Ambers cosmetics brand. There wasn't a hair or makeup combination she was afraid of. Most often, Iman was styled with protruding, sculpture-esque hair, abstract eye shadow and vibrant lip colors. Michael Vollbracht's 1981 Fashion Show In designer Michael Villbracht's 1981 fashion show, Iman matched her multicolor poncho with an eccentric makeup look straight from the pages of an editorial spread. On her eyes, she wore a navy shadow, which carried across her lids and into her waterline. An iridescent highlight undercut her faded eyebrows, while her bone structure was embellished with a rosy pink blush. Iman's lips drew a stark contrast to her eye makeup, dressed in a deep red lipstick with gloss layered over. The whimsical element of her aesthetic saw her tresses styled like a peacock's train on top of her head, feathers jutting between the slicked strands. Kenzo Spring 1983 Presentation Iman morphed into a Kenzo muse for the brand's 1983 presentation, boasting a dramatic ponytail extension that fell to her waistline. For her appearance in the spring 1984 ready-to-wear show, Iman was given a heavy amount of black and blue shadow; the color extended in a long triangle past the corners of her eyes. Her eyebrows were filled in darker than usual, and red blush was placed only under her cheekbones. Her hair was teased and frizzed well above her head like a lion's mane. The thick extensions fell to the left of her face. Adding to the primitive nature, Iman's eyes were colored with brown shadow, and her lips boasted a vicious wine-colored lipstick. Donna Karan 1990 Ready-to-Wear Presentation As a Donna Karan model for her 1990 ready-to-wear show, Iman was styled with an ultra-short pixie cut and minimal makeup. The beauty aesthetic was more refined and less theatrical compared to her looks for Mugler and Yves Saint Laurent, but still glamorous nonetheless. Patrick Kelly Ready-to-Wear Fall 1990 Iman walked the Patrick Kelly 1990 ready-to-wear runway with a hair and makeup look belonging to the trademark beauty trends of the '80s. Her hair was messily teased in a half-up, half-down 'do like a bird's nest on top of her head. The bouffant style was paired with pared-down makeup, complete with brown shadow dusted across her lids and buffed out under her eyebrows. ' I fired my own aunt. She said she wanted a job—she was always calling me up for money and I would send her the money,' Perry said. I said 'Listen, I want to help you build this thing. I don't want to be welfare to you, let me give you this job.' I gave her a job to help her — and she didn't want to show up. I'm not going to handicap people I love,' Perry said. Though the other men in the conversation seemed to understand Perry's decision, the internet quickly made the clip a discussion piece with some people feeling like the Madea movie mastermind has a few dollars to spare and others echoing his sentiment that he doesn't owe anyone a handout. Perry has said in the past that his most popular character—the gun-toting matriarch and comedic relief—was fashioned after his aunt, we can only hope it's not the one he fired. Whew, chile. Perry also revealed to the panel that he helped fellow filmmaker Ryan Coogler land a landmark deal for his critically-acclaimed film Sinners . Coogler revealed that he would retain full ownership over his $360 million feature in 25 years along with first-dollar gross points and it seems we have Perry to thank for giving him the game. 'When this deal with Ryan Coogler – everybody's talking about the Sinners deal. 'Oh my god, he got this amazing deal,'' Perry said around the 21-minute mark in the interview. 'Listen, I called that brother up, as I did a lot of them. I called him up after Black Panther and I said, 'Listen, here is how you do it.' I applaud him, man. I'm excited for him because that's what it's about. Holding on to the ownership.' Coogler never revealed that he'd had a conversation with Perry, but now we know. The Straw director also spoke about being underestimated in Hollywood and how it worked to his advantage, even in the present day, after all of his successes. 'These are the people who are like 'oh that's just something than Black people like.' They thought Diary of a Mad Black Woman would only do $5 million total, it opened at $20 million. When you're underestimated, you can make the best deals,' he said. 'That's why I tell people don't go in a room with your resume trying to impress anybody. See what deal you can make, go under first. I am still fighting for budgets, I am still fighting for looks that my white counterparts. in this business have. I have a friend who gets $27 million to write an episode of television, I'm barely getting four.'
