Zen Technologies shares hit 5% upper circuit after PAT jumps 189% YoY
zoomed 5% to hit their upper circuit at Rs 1,884.45 on the BSE on Monday, May 19, after the company reported a 189% year-on-year (YoY) surge in consolidated net profit to Rs 101.04 crore, up from Rs 35.99 crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous fiscal.
Revenue from operations rose 130% YoY to Rs 324.97 crore, compared to Rs 141.38 crore in Q4FY24. However, total expenses also climbed 106% to Rs 195.7 crore during the quarter.

Zen Technologies' board recommended a final dividend of Rs 2 per share (200%) for the financial year ended March 31, 2025, subject to shareholder approval at the upcoming AGM.
On the strategic front, the company approved the acquisition of a 51% stake in Vector Technics Private Limited for Rs 25 crore. During the quarter, Rs 10.7 crore was invested in partially paid equity shares, with the remaining Rs 14.3 crore to be paid by February 24, 2026.

Haryana wraps up auction of liquor zones, earns Rs 14,342 crore in revenue
Chandigarh: Haryana excise and taxation commissioner Vinay Pratap Singh on Saturday claimed that the state govt had concluded auctions for all 1,194 retail liquor vend zones. He said since a licensee was allowed to open two liquor vends in each excise zone, with the completion of the auction of all 1,194 excise zones, licences for 2,388 retail liquor vends had been issued by the department. In the last excise year, the state govt collected Rs 7,025 crore from excise auctions. He said Haryana's excise policy provides for a fair and transparent mode of excise auctions through a web portal, which resulted in high participation by prospective licensees. UP gets Rs 12k cr for pucca houses under PMAY-U 2.0
Lucknow: The state govt has secured financial approval of Rs 12,031 crore under PMAY (Urban) Mission 2.0. The funding will help provide pucca houses to the urban poor across Uttar Pradesh. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath directed officials to adopt strict measures to ensure transparency and quality in construction. To ensure transparency, geo-tagging and photographic documentation of each house will be mandatory under PMAY (Urban). "This will allow real-time monitoring of construction at every stage. All houses will be built with disaster-resilient features to protect against earthquakes, floods, and other calamities, making safety a core part of the scheme," a govt spokesperson said. The central and state govts will share the costs of housing units in 60:40 ratio. Each eligible beneficiary will accordingly receive Rs 2.5 lakh in assistance to help build a permanent (pucca) house. Launched on Sept 1, 2024, Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban) Mission 2.0 aims to ensure pucca houses for all families. "The scheme is being closely monitored by state and district-level officials to guarantee timely and quality construction," the spokesperson said.

1 2 Nagpur: As virtual hearings and digital legal research become the new normal, Chief Justice of India Bhushan Gavai underscored the growing importance of e-libraries while inaugurating the Adv TR Gilda Memorial e-Library at the Amravati District and Sessions Court on Saturday. "E-libraries are no longer a luxury, they are a necessity," Gavai said at a function hosted by the Amravati District Bar Association (ADBA) at Sipna College of Engineering. "The legal profession has undergone a rapid digital shift. Lawyers, especially the younger generation, need instant access to updated judgments, legal literature, and reference material. This facility addresses those needs," he said. CJI Gavai, who had been recently hospitalized, said he chose to travel to Amravati against medical advice to witness the e-library come alive. "It was a personal moment of pride," he said, recalling his close ties with Gilda, in whose memory the facility has been constructed. Gavia also urged legal professionals to incorporate the digital library into their everyday work, citing the Marathi adage 'Vachal tar Vachaal' (those who read, survive).
