Jordan Armed Forces conduct three airdrops to deliver aid to Gaza Strip, one in cooperation with UAE - Jordan News
The Jordan Armed Forces-Arab Army (JAF) and the United Arab Emirates on Sunday conducted three airdrops to deliver humanitarian aid and food to several locations in the Gaza Strip. اضافة اعلان The airdrops were carried out by Royal Jordanian Air Force and UAE Air Force C-130 aircraft, carrying 25 tonnes of food and basic necessities, in light of the difficult humanitarian conditions facing the Strip. These airdrops are a continuation of Jordan's ongoing efforts, in cooperation with other countries and partner humanitarian organisations, to support the Palestinian people, and in coordination with the Jordan Hashemite Charity Organisation (JHCO), in order to alleviate humanitarian suffering and support the people of Gaza in overcoming the challenges imposed by the war. The JAF have carried out 127 airdrops since the war started, in addition to 267 airdrops conducted in cooperation with other countries. Airdrops represent an additional means to deliver aid within a short time, allowing for the provision of urgent humanitarian and relief aid to areas that are difficult to access. However, airdrops do not supplant the delivery of aid by land, as ground convoys are the primary, most effective, and prioritised means of delivering aid. The JAF continue to dispatch aid convoys by land in coordination with the JHCO, the World Food Programme, and the World Central Kitchen, with the number of convoys sent since the start of the war standing at 181, comprising 7,932 trucks. As part of the medical response in Gaza, Jordanian field hospitals in the north and south of the Strip continue to provide treatment to injured and sick Gazans. So far, more than 120,588 patients have received treatment at the field hospital in the north of Gaza, while 362,389 patients have been treated at the field hospital in the south. More than 36,000 major and minor surgeries have been performed at these hospitals, and their cadres have fitted 532 upper and lower limb prostheses for Gazan amputees as part of the Restoring Hope Initiative. Also within Jordan's humanitarian efforts in support of Gaza, 112 injured and sick children, accompanied by 241 family members, have been evacuated for treatment in Jordanian hospitals as part of the Jordan Medical Corridor initiative launched by His Majesty King Abdullah II, which aims to treat 2,000 sick children from Gaza.

18,500 "Israel" soldiers injured since Oct. 7, many suffering PTSD, says "Israeli" army
New data from the "Israeli" Defense Ministry shows that 18,500 soldiers have been injured since the October 7 events, with thousands diagnosed with psychological trauma and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), according to a report published Sunday by "Israeli" news outlet Ynet. According to the report, 3,769 soldiers have already been officially recognized as PTSD patients. Defense Ministry officials warned that the psychological toll will only worsen once the war ends. 'Once the war is over, this will hit us as a national challenge,' a senior ministry source said. PTSD numbers surge to historic highs By 2028, the ministry's Rehabilitation Department expects to be caring for around 100,000 injured and disabled veterans, with at least half projected to be diagnosed with mental health issues. Currently, over 10,000 soldiers are undergoing mental health treatment for trauma related to their participation in the genocide in Gaza, while another 9,000 are in the process of being recognized for PTSD. The figures mark a sharp rise compared to previous wars. After the 2014 war on Gaza, only 159 soldiers were recognized with PTSD. In contrast, 1,430 were recognized in 2023, and the number soared in 2024 to 2,210, the highest annual figure ever recorded. Young, injured soldiers strain mental health system Nearly half of the 18,500 injured soldiers are under the age of 30, many of them reservists. The massive influx has overwhelmed mental health services. 'We have one social worker for every 750 disabled veterans,' an official admitted, adding that this ratio makes individualized care nearly impossible. The country is also dealing with a broader shortage of psychiatrists. Impact on workforce and economy The report highlights the economic fallout as well. The Defense Ministry estimates that over 12,000 soldiers, including both active-duty and reservists, have dropped out of military combat roles and also left the workforce or abandoned their careers altogether.
