Mcap of 9 top valued firms surges by ₹2.34 trn, Reliance biggest gainer

Nine of the top-10 most valued firms together added ₹2,34,565.53 crore in market valuation last week, with Reliance Industries emerging as the biggest gainer, in-line with a buoyant trend in equities.
Last week, the BSE benchmark surged 1,650.73 points or 2 per cent.
From the top-10 pack, Infosys emerged as the only laggard, facing erosion from its valuation.
The market valuation of Reliance Industries jumped by ₹69,556.91 crore to ₹20,51,590.51 crore, the most among the top-10 firms.
Bharti Airtel's valuation surged by ₹51,860.65 crore to ₹11,56,329.94 crore and that of HDFC Bank rallied by ₹37,342.73 crore to ₹15,44,624.52 crore.
The market capitalisation (mcap) of Bajaj Finance zoomed ₹26,037.88 crore to ₹5,88,213.55 crore and that of ICICI Bank edged higher by ₹24,649.73 crore to ₹10,43,037.49 crore.
The valuation of Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) climbed ₹13,250.87 crore to ₹6,05,523.65 crore and that of State Bank of India went up by ₹8,389.15 crore to ₹7,18,788.90 crore.
The mcap of Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) gained ₹3,183.91 crore to ₹12,45,761.80 crore and that of Hindustan Unilever climbed ₹293.7 crore to ₹5,41,850.99 crore.
In contrast, the mcap of Infosys declined by ₹5,494.8 crore to ₹6,68,256.29 crore.
In the ranking of top-10 firms, Reliance Industries retained the number one place followed by HDFC Bank, TCS, Bharti Airtel, ICICI Bank, State Bank of India, Infosys, LIC, Bajaj Finance and Hindustan Unilever Ltd.

Infosys has sent personalised emails to staff members, requesting them to maintain standard working hours. Even as Infosys founder NR Naryana Murthy calls for Indians to work 70 hours a week, the IT services giant has flagged employees working extended hours, stressing on the need for work-life balance. Infosys has started a campaign to caution staff about extended working hours during remote work periods, highlighting potential health concerns and emphasising the importance of maintaining work-life equilibrium. Infosys has sent personalised emails to staff members, requesting them to maintain standard working hours. "We must work for 9.15 hours a day for five days a week, and if we overshoot this while working remotely, it prompts a trigger," an employee was quoted as saying in an ET report. The email indicates that the employee's monthly average working hours exceeded the company's prescribed duration. Infosys Monitors Work From Home Hours The human resources department monitors remote working hours monthly. When excessive hours are detected, they send detailed notifications to the concerned staff member, including information about remote working days, total hours worked and daily average hours. This monitoring system was implemented following the introduction of hybrid working arrangements. The HR department now tracks the duration each employee spends on official duties whilst working remotely. The financial daily has reviewed several such employee communications. These messages emphasised that prioritising health and work-life balance would benefit both personal well-being and professional success in the long term. Infosys employs approximately 323,500 staff members. A large-scale stock manipulation scam based in Ahmedabad has come under the scanner of the Securities and Exchange Board of India (Sebi), after nearly 4,000 investors were allegedly misled through a pump-and-dump operation involving revived defunct companies, according to a media report. One person familiar with the matter said the sheer volume of such violations makes enforcement particularly in a statement issued Friday, said it had conducted search and seizure operations at several locations during June 2025 in connection with the ongoing probe. The regulator said it had gathered substantial evidence, which is currently under examination, and that any further regulatory action will depend on the outcome of this regulator did not disclose the names of companies or individuals involved, citing the ongoing nature of the proceedings. But the clarification followed media reports of the regulator acting against entities suspected of distorting stock prices to mislead investors, the defining feature of a pump-and-dump operations typically involve the dissemination of false or misleading information to push up stock prices, triggering retail interest. Gujarat-based German Green Steel and Power Limited has filed its draft red herring prospectus (DRHP) with capital market regulator Securities and Exchange Board of India ( SEBI ) to raise Rs 450 crore through an initial public offering ( IPO ). The IPO, with a face value of Rs 10 each, is a mix of fresh issue of up to Rs 450 crore with an offer for sale up to 10,00,000 equity shares by Inamulhaq Shamsulhaq Iraki and 10,00,000 equity shares by Abdulhaq Shamsulhaq Iraki. The proceeds from its fresh issuance to the extent of Rs 325.21 crore for funding the capital expenditure requirements of the company towards expansion of its manufacturing facility at Samakhiali, Kutch, Gujarat and hybrid wind and solar power plant; Rs 55.01 crore for prepayment or repayment, in full or part, of certain outstanding borrowings availed by the Company; general corporate purposes. German Green Steel and Power Limited is a vertically integrated iron and steel manufacturer primarily operating in the western region of India, with a strong presence in Gujarat with a main focus on TMX Bars, according to a CARE report mentioned in the DRHP. The company's product portfolio comprises mainly TMT Bars, MS Billets and Sponge Iron. Its TMT bar manufacturing capabilities range from 8 mm to 40 mm. It believes that it has developed 'German TMT' as a popular brand for TMT Bars in the state of Gujarat. It has two (2) manufacturing facilities located in the state of Gujarat ('Manufacturing Facilities'), one at Samakhiali, and the other at Viramgam, operated through its Material Subsidiary- German TMX Private Limited. As of December 31, 2024, approximately 67.72% of its energy requirements are met by its captive power plant and renewable energy plant. Which mutual funds should you buy? German Green Steel and Power's revenue from operations grew at a CAGR of 12.53% from Rs 892.25 crore in Fiscal 2022 to Rs 1,129.78 crore in Fiscal 2024. EBITDA grew at a CAGR of 43.04% from Rs 39.15 crore in Fiscal 2022 to Rs 80.11 crore in Fiscal 2024 with EBITDA Margin improved from 4.39% in Fiscal 2022 to 7.09% in Fiscal 2024 showcasing strong operating performance. Profit After Tax grew at a CAGR of 10.43 % from Rs 34.16 crore in Fiscal 2022 to Rs 41.67 crore in Fiscal 2024. For the nine-month period ended December 31, 2024, revenue from operations, EBITDA and profit after tax stood at Rs 979.79 crore, Rs 68.18 crore and Rs 32.07 crore respectively.
