Walmart Mass Stabbing Reports Emerge in Traverse City, Michigan

There are reports of a mass stabbing attack at a Walmart store in Traverse County, MI. They emerged on July 26. The Michigan State Police confirmed on X that the stabbing had occurred. "Grand Traverse County Sheriff's Office is investigating a multiple stabbing incident at the Wal-Mart in Traverse City. The suspect is in custody, details are limited at this time," they wrote. Police asked people to avoid the area and said additional details will be forthcoming. They did not release the exact number of people stabbed or their conditions. Officials at Munson Medical Center in Traverse City said in a Facebook statement that they are treating 11 victims. "Munson Healthcare is aware of the tragic incident that occurred earlier today at the Walmart in Traverse City. Our thoughts are with all those affected by this event, and we are grateful to the first responders and law enforcement for their swift action," they wrote. "We can confirm that 11 victims are being treated at Munson Medical Center. As a result, our Emergency Department is currently experiencing a higher-than-usual volume of patients," they added. "We are working closely with local authorities and emergency services to ensure the best possible care for those impacted. We ask for the public's patience and understanding as we manage this increased demand." "said they had received 11 victims from the incident." Their conditions were not clear. The New York Times quoted a witness Julia Martell, who said she "heard screaming and saw a man with a knife running through the store's pharmacy area." As he "moved through the store, he was shoving and stabbing people," she said to the Times. Martell told the Times there was "blood everywhere." According to KCRG-TV, "multiple people have been stabbed at a Walmart in Michigan and a suspect is in custody." That's according to the Grand Traverse County Sheriff's Office, which is investigating the stabbings, which occurred in Traverse City, per KCRG. The motive is not clear. The condition of the victims and whether any people are dead is also unclear. The name of the suspect is not yet clear, either, as this is an unfolding situation. Videos on X showed ambulances at the scene of the Walmart. A Walmart spokesperson told Newsday that the company was 'working with police and defer questions to them right now.' Daily Mail reported that "shoppers fled for their lives after a suspect brandished a knife" inside the Walmart, citing witnesses. One person claimed the attack "occurred near the pharmacy counter with many of the victims said to be elderly," Daily Mail reported, but this was not confirmed by authorities, who have provided few details. The mass stabbing reports come after an employee at a Walmart was accused in a separate incident of stabbing a co-worker behind the deli because he believed she disrespected him. The victim survived but required "multiple surgeries," according to Mass Stabbing Reports Emerge in Traverse City, Michigan first appeared on Men's Journal on Jul 26, 2025

Multiple homes damaged after teen loses control of car and crashes in Huntington Beach

Multiple homes were damaged when a teenager lost control of a car and crashed in Huntington Beach on Friday night. Police said that it happened at around 10:40 p.m. in the 19100 block of Newland Street, according to a release from the Huntington Beach Police Department. "Based on the preliminary investigation, it appears that the vehicle was traveling south on Newland Street at a hight rate of speed when the driver lost control," police said. They do not believe impairment was a factor in the crash. The driver, a 17-year-old boy who does not have a license, and his 18-year-old male passenger were both hospitalized after complaining of pain, police noted. The driver was cited for driving without a license and reckless driving and released to a guardian. Huntington Beach city officials were called to check the structural integrity of the homes.
