Riot Fest Knocks It Out of the Park with Spectacular 2025 Lineup
Riot Fest celebrates its 20th anniversary in 2025, and the Chicago institution is celebrating one of its best lineups to date. Green Day, blink-182, Jack White, and Weezer will headline three-day festival, set for September 19th-21st at Chicago's Douglass Park, alongside a formidable undercard featuring Weird Al' Yankovic, Rilo Kiley, Dropkick Murphys, Sex Pistols (featuring Frank Carter), The Pogues, and IDLES.
Other confirmed acts The Beach Boys, Alkaline Trio, Jawbreaker, Bad Religion, Sparks, Knocked Loose, All Time Low, The Damned, The Hold Steady, The Front Bottoms, Texas Is the Reason, Rico Nasty, Inhaler, The Linda Lindas, Panchiko, Superchunk, James, Buzzcocks, Knuckle Puck, The Cribs, Hanson, Toche Amore, Lambrini Girls, Mac Sabbath, The Wonder Years, Helmet, Marky Ramone Plays The Ramones, Camper Van Beethoven, and Wishy, with plenty more more still to be announced.

I'm Obsessed With the Relatable Dichotomy of Lana Del Rey's Style
This summer, Lana Del Rey has been touring throughout Europe, and her fashions for the stage have been, well, extremely Lana-coded. To accompany the whole Southern-Gothic setting of her new show, the eye-catching performance wardrobe—helped brought to life by her go-to stylist, Molly Dickson—has revolved around a sweeter, more retro sensibility. A few shows in, and there has been a deliberate tradwife aesthetic to her custom Gucci and Valentino designs. We have seen loads of 1950s-style gowns with sweetheart necklines, cinched waists, and big full skirts. Her hair, styled in romantic updos or bouffants, has matched the throwback vibe. (Since marrying Louisiana alligator tour guide Jeremy Dufrene last year, the singer has seemingly leaned into a Southern Belle vibe, whether intentional or not.) And yet, off the stage, Del Rey's summer style could not be more opposite. Where her performance outfits are marked by theatrical costuming, her day-off looks are decidedly much more simple. She has been doing normcore dressing to the extreme: You can regularly catch in her in skinny or straight-leg jeans—not trendy baggy or flared styles—paired with a simple crewneck sweater. Her white Keds sneakers, meanwhile, are as pragmatic and discrete as they come—a far cry from the bedazzled Louboutin boots she performed in at Coachella last year. While many performers cultivate a cohesive closet for both on and off the stage (see: Billie Eilish and her love of baggy attire, or Beyoncé and her love of red, white, and blue), Lana treats her public persona as something entirely separate. Concert Lana represents ideals of bygone beauty; her off-duty fashion is very much rooted in being a millennial in 2025. And so what? Don't you dress down on your days off? To me, her normy attire makes seeing Lana all dolled up on stage all the more striking. We love a transformation. Plus, let her live! If she wants to grab a quiet drink at the Chateau Marmont in a ball cap and chore jacket in peace, we should. Though, the next time you spot some Keds in such a fancy setting, you might want to scan your eyes upwards and do a quick is-that-Lana check.

Green Day's Billie Joe Armstrong Celebrates 4th of July With ‘F–k Donald Trump' Chant in Belgium
While Donald Trump celebrated the 4th of July at the White House by signing his controversial 'big, beautiful' bill, Green Day were a world away in Belgium marking the nation's independence day in their signature agit-punk manner. Singer Billie Joe Armstrong, who has made his long made his harsh feelings about the president crystal clear from the stage, did it again on Friday during GD's headlining set at the Rock Werchter festival when he led the crowd in an anti-Trump chant to mark the nation's 249th birthday. 'F– Donald Trump,' Armstrong encouraged the audience to chant in the middle of a performance of 'Holiday,' the latest in the singer's repeated broadsides against the American president. As has become customary, Armstrong also once again tweaked the lyrics to the band's signature political bombtrack, 'American Idiot,' shouting 'I'm not part of the MAGA agenda.' The bit ended with a woman in the crowd shouting 'F–k Donald Trump!' as the lyrics faded from 'at the twilight's last gleaming' into the American Idiot ballad 'What Me Up When September Ends.' Last month, Armstrong celebrated Green Day's debut appearance at the Download Festival in the U.K. with another broadside against the administration. 'Donald Trump in his administration is a fascist government,' Armstrong told the crowd a day before Trump presided over his long-awaited D.C military parade. 'And it's up to us to fight back.' Armstrong also got the Download audience to join him in calling Trump a 'fat bastard.' Though 'American Idiot' was originally written in response to the George W. Bush administration, Armstrong has been swapping the 'redneck agenda' line out to slam the 'MAGA agenda' — and occasionally former DOGE boss Elon Musk's 'Elon Agenda' — during recent Green Day shows.
