'Ronit Roy Has Vacation Homes, Sakshi Tanwar Saved For Generations': Ram Kapoor On How Rich TV Stars Are
Ram Kapoor reveals how top TV actors like Ronit Roy and Sakshi Tanwar secured wealth through smart TV pay and investments.
Ram Kapoor, a favourite in shows like Kasamh Se and Bade Achhe Lagte Hain, recently shared his thought about television actors' pay and wealth-building strategies. In a chat with Humans of Bombay, he reflected on how money earned from hit TV shows, if managed wisely, can set up multiple generations—while poor financial choices can lead to career decline.
He noted, 'When you make it to the top like Ronit Roy, Sakshi, and me, and you are sensible with your investments… there were a lot of people who had hit shows, but they spent more money than they should, and when that show shut down and they didn't get another show. They did not do well and disappeared."
Ram praised Ronit Roy for his smart money moves. 'People like a Ronit… he has a lot of houses, vacation homes, and such a fantastic villa in Goa. He has been sensible because he started in films and he didn't make it in films. He was a flop actor in films and he didn't have money to eat. Then Ektaa Kapoor took him on. In television, he never looked back. He had seen failure so when he got success, he respected it from day one."
He also highlighted Sakshi Tanwar's prudent lifestyle. He said, 'Same for Sakshi. She is a very sensible girl. She doesn't like fancy cars like I do. She has enough money for six generations because she spends it very wisely. If you spend money wisely, then you will have money for a lot of things in television."
Ram mentioned the high earning potential in television. He said that he has made enough money for multiple future generations of his family, and that he would earn eight years' worth of a regular person's salary in just one month on TV.
Ram's message is clear: while top TV actors can earn enormous sums, success must be matched with responsible financial planning to ensure long-term stability and legacy.
Meanwhile, Ram Kapoor is mired in a controversy. Just days ahead of the release of the mystery drama detective series 'Mistry', the actor has been dropped from all promotional activities related to the show. Mid-Day reports that the decision was made by senior leadership at JioHotstar after Ram Kapoor allegedly made sexually inappropriate and offensive remarks during a media event held at JW Marriott, Juhu on June 19. According to Mid-Day, several eyewitnesses revealed that Ram Kapoor, who was seated alongside his co-star Mona Singh, and JioHotstar executives, made comments loaded with sexual innuendo, leaving team members uncomfortable.

The show is loosely based on the life and book of Delphine Horvilleur, who's actually one of the few female rabbis in France. So there's a real-life connection here, which adds to how grounded everything feels. More about Reformed The creators, Noé Debré and Benjamin Charbit, didn't go the preachy route. They've told a very human story that just happens to take place in a Jewish community. Each episode is about 30 minutes, and it gives you real, everyday dilemmas. There's one episode about a boy's circumcision that stirs debate in the community. Another about a terminally ill woman who wants to be cremated, which isn't exactly accepted in Jewish tradition. Reformed's supporting cast includes Éric Elmosnino, Manu Payet, Noémie Lvovsky, Solal Bouloudnine, Anouk Grinberg, Suzy Bemba and Lionel Dray among others.
