Labour to share asylum hotel locations with food delivery firms
Currently delivery riders discovered to be sharing their accounts with asylum seekers have their profiles suspended. The latest measures hope to crack down further on the practice.
Asylum seekers in the UK are normally barred from work while their claim is being processed, though permission can be applied for after a year of waiting.

It's a policy that a majority of Scots reject, according to a recent poll.
Some 62% of Scottish adults said that people who are waiting for a Home Office decision on their asylum applications should be able to work, according to a Survation survey for the Scottish Refugee Council (SRC).
The SNP have also hit out at the move from the Labour Government, who have taken increasingly harsh measures against asylum seekers since coming to power in July last year to combat the rise of Reform UK.
"Under the Labour Party, the UK economy is in crisis, the cost of living is soaring, unemployment is rising, child poverty is at record levels - Britain is broken but this Labour Prime Minister thinks the priority is going after asylum seekers and takeaways,' a party spokesperson told The National.
"Once again this shows how ridiculous and rudderless Westminster is - with Keir Starmer's agenda totally dictated and directed by the fear of Farage rather than focusing on the actual priorities and lives of Scottish families."

Home Secretary Yvette Cooper (above), meanwhile, said of the move: 'Illegal working undermines honest business, exploits vulnerable individuals and fuels organised immigration crime.
'By enhancing our data sharing with delivery companies, we are taking decisive action to close loopholes and increase enforcement.
'The changes come alongside a 50% increase in raids and arrests for illegal working under the Plan for Change, greater security measures and tough new legislation.'
The three delivery companies said they were fully committed to working with the Home Office.

Whisky tariffs to be halved by ‘fantastic' India trade deal
Tariffs on whisky being exported to India are set to be halved as part of a trade deal with the UK. Sir Keir Starmer will welcome his Indian counterpart Narendra Modi on Thursday to sign the deal, which will see tariffs on whisky cut from 150% to 75%, and potentially dropping to 40% in the next decade. While tariffs on soft drinks will drop gradually from 33% to 0%, the UK Government estimated a £190 million boost for Scotland as a result of the deal. Speaking ahead of the signing, Scottish Secretary Ian Murray said: 'This is great news for Scotland and Scottish jobs. 'Our trade deal with India is fantastic news for Brand Scotland, with our goods, businesses and services gaining access to what is projected to be the world's third-largest economy by 2027. 'From food, drink and textiles production, to clean energy, advanced manufacturing, life sciences and financial services, Scotland has so much to offer India. 'It's fantastic news in particular for the world-famous whisky industry, with Indian import tariffs slashed on Scotch having the potential to be transformational for the industry. It's also good news for our other national drink, with tariffs on soft drinks cut. 'As the UK Government delivers our Plan for Change, we are also bringing inward investment to Scotland to create jobs, boost economic growth and improve living standards right across the UK.' Scotch Whisky Association chief executive Mark Kent said the industry had 'long championed' a deal with India, adding: 'The signing of the FTA is an historic moment and is an important milestone to reducing tariffs on Scotch whisky in a growing market. 'This will contribute to the Government's growth objective, by laying the foundations for further investment and jobs.'

At the highest incidence, 227 asylum seekers attempted to use or successfully used the cards to gamble in a week last November. While attempts to gamble online using the cards had been made, they were blocked each time so they were forced to use them in physical sites. There are currently around 80,000 ASPEN card users in the UK. Shadow Home Secretary Chris Philp told PoliticsHome: 'It is shocking that over 6,000 illegal immigrants have attempted to use hard-working British taxpayers' money to gamble. "They have illegally entered this country without needing to – France is safe, and no one needs to flee from there. 'The British taxpayer has put them up in hotels, and now they slap us in the face by using the money they are given to fund gambling. 'These illegal immigrants clearly don't need the money they are given if they are squandering it at casinos and arcades.'

The Commons Work and Pension Committee also urges the government to decide on a minimum level of retirement income. The report warns around 2.8million pensioners are living below the Minimum Income Standard. MPs said this means older people "cutting back on essentials, like food, energy use and seeing friends, in an attempt to manage costs". They also said women make up two-thirds of those in poverty. Among the recommendations, the Work and Pensions Committee calls for a "take-up strategy" for pension credit, which is available to the very poorest pensioners. The extra cash of up to £4,000 helps low income people with essential living costs. But the MPs point out that take-up has been around 61% to 66% for around a decade with an estimated 700,000 households being eligible but not claiming. Despite an extra 60,000 extra awards last winter, MPs said there is still a long way to go. A taper to pension credit should also be considered to "mitigate the cliff-edge effect" for those who currently miss out, they said. But the MPs welcomed the decision to U-turn on the controversial cuts to winter fuel payments for millions of pensioners. "Whatever the merits of the change, it created uncertainty and anxiety for pensioners about how they would manage," they said. Committee chairwoman Debbie Abrahams said: 'Poverty is insidious. It isolates, damages health, and strips you of dignity. After decades of contributing to society, dignity in retirement is the least you deserve. "But too many are forced to make sacrifices that will accelerate their ageing because they don't have enough to live on. To boost incomes, the Government needs to come up with a strategy to increase pension credit take-up. It's a scandal that so many have missed out for so many years, often through an aversion to claiming benefits altogether, or lack of support.' She added: 'Faced with a combination of high energy costs, ill-health and ever higher rates of pensioners in more costly privately rented accommodation, tackling pensioner poverty is not simply a DWP issue. "So, we're calling for a nationwide, cross-government strategy for an ageing society that should be rooted in equity and wellbeing.' A Government spokesman said: 'Supporting pensioners is a top priority, and thanks to our commitment to the triple lock, millions will see their yearly state pension rise by £1,900 this parliament. "We have also run the biggest-ever campaign to boost pension credit take-up, with nearly 60,000 extra pensioner households being awarded the benefit, worth on average around £4,300 a year. "But we know there is a real risk that tomorrow's pensioners will be poorer than today's, which is why we are reviving the Pension Commission, to tackle the barriers that stop too many people from saving."
