WNBA star, Notre Dame alum Jackie Young gets a mural of her unveiled at elementary school

morning! WNBA All-Star festivities begin in earnest today at 2016 Indiana Miss Basketball Jackie Young (Princeton High/Notre Dame) on her trip @PCHSTigers, where she hosted a youth camp yesterday — and they unveiled a mural of her! Former Notre Dame women's basketball player Jackie Young is taking part in WNBA All-Star festivities all weekend long in Indianapolis, as she was selected for having a strong season with the Las Vegas Aces. The 2016 Indiana Miss Basketball at Princeton Community High hosted a youth camp Thursday, and her former elementary school unveiled a giant mural of her on the wall of the gym/cafeteria. The school has since been transformed into Gibson County's Toyota Indiana YMCA. Young encouraged the youth to make use of the YMCA facilities, and she even said they could join her in workouts when she's home. "This is a big deal, you know—a YMCA in Princeton, Indiana," she said. "Who would have thought? "This place is special. I love Princeton. I'm very proud to be from here." The mural depicts her high school, college and pro career. She had a record 20 30-point games in high school, became an NCAA champion at ND, was the 2019 WNBA No. 1 draft pick, is a two-time Olympic gold medalist and two-time WNBA champion. On ESPN's First Take, Marcus Freeman says this group benefitted the most from ND's CFP run

Notre Dame's magical run to the College Football Playoff national championship game last season is paying dividends in a variety of ways, including on the recruiting trail. Marcus Freeman's squad is well-positioned to make another run at the CFP, and ND's national brand has been even more elevated because of last year's success. Freeman and six Fighting Irish players are in New York City this week for the program's version of media day, and he appeared on ESPN's First Take on Thursday. Freeman was asked which position group benefitted the most following last season's run to the national title game, and he mentioned offensive line coach Joe Rudolph's unit. "I think as you look at our offensive line, we probably ended up starting nine to 10 guys throughout the year," Freeman said. "Just through injuries, through different situations. As we go to 2025, you've got a group that all have game experience—starting big-game experience." Entering the new season, ND has several offensive linemen who have started games, including redshirt junior Ashton Craig, redshirt sophomore Charles Jagusah, sophomore Anthonie Knapp, redshirt junior Billy Schrauth and redshirt junior Aamil Wagner. While Jagusah is expected to miss the start of the season, Freeman knows he can rely on his depth until Jagusah is 100 percent healthy again. Iowa football receives favorable odds to win the Big Ten from CBS Sports

Can Iowa football win the Big Ten in 2025? That's the golden question that Hawkeye fans have been trying to answer all offseason. Most fans would tell you that Iowa has no shot this season in a loaded Big Ten conference. However, the betting odds tell a different story. Thomas Casale of CBS Sports put together an article on Thursday compiling the betting odds for every team in the Big Ten to win the Big Ten title. The usual heavy hitters occupy the top of the list, but Iowa fans don't have to scroll far to find the Hawkeyes, who are tied with Nebraska for the sixth-best odds to win the Big Ten title at +3500, according to FanDuel. This may seem far-fetched, but FanDuel may not be too far off when it comes to their projections for the Hawkeyes. Who has better odds than Iowa to win the Big Ten? Iowa and Nebraska are tied for sixth at +3500. The Hawkeyes find themselves in front of some really good teams like Illinois, Indiana, and Washington. The Fighting Illini have received a ton of offseason hype and are generally regarded as a team in the conference with immense upside. The Hoosiers just made the College Football Playoff last season, and Curt Cignetti has developed quite the culture over in Bloomington. And the Huskies always seem to find a way to compete and stay relevant, and being back a talented QB in Demond Williams Jr., so why does Iowa have better odds than them? Why Iowa can win the Big Ten? One name. Mark Gronowski. It may seem misguided to place all of Iowa's hopes and dreams on an FCS transfer QB, but Gronowski's play in 2025 will determine Iowa's success. If Gronowski can give the Hawkeyes above-average QB play, this is a team that can win double-digit games. The defense and special teams always show up, and the rest of the offense around Gronowski is underrated. If Gronowski is just average or worse, Iowa's ceiling drops to a seven or eight-win team. Not terrible, but nowhere near the top of the Big Ten. It's a big season for Gronowski and offensive coordinator Tim Lester. Iowa's offense hasn't been better than average in a while, and that needs to change soon. If it does, it might be a magical season in Iowa City.
