Drew Scott & Linda Phan Gave a Super-Rare Glimpse Into Making the ‘Back-To-Back Birthday Parties for Piper & Parker'
In the first photo, the couple smile next to a wagon covered in cardboard to turn it into a 'sea lab.' 'Making props with cardboard and paint is a fun way to get kids involved,' Scott explained. His first tip: 'start with a theme.' For Parker's 3rd birthday, the theme was 'under the sea,' and for Piper's first, it was 'French Pâtisserie.' Next, they made cute signage and rhymes to go with the party and set up a photo booth backdrop. For Parker, they put up blue and orange streamers; for Piper, they made a display with flowers and pastries. 'Try décor you can eat!' he suggested. Next up: 'attention to detail.' They wrapped blue paper sharks around paper cups and set up a table with pink glasses and blue-striped napkins. To save money, Scott recommends 'invest[ing] in décor you can reuse multiple times,' like mini disco balls that worked for both parties, and setting up a play and reading area with things they already had around the house.
'Put on a show' was next, as Scott shared photos of Phan, him, and others dressed up to do a puppet show for Parker's party and a live band to play music for Piper's party. Last but not least, have a fabulous cake! Parker's was in the shape of waves with toy sea animals to fit the theme, and Piper's had edible flowers that made for 'beautiful and easy decorations.' They definitely made the whole back-to-back party thing look easy! People praised these nice, yet relatively simple birthday parties in the comments. 'Kiddos parties are the best – love it! ❤️,' one person wrote. Someone else said, 'This is too cute for kids party 🎉 ideas enjoyed the pics'
Last month, Scott shared adorable updates about his kids on their birthdays. For Piper, he shared a sweet video montage of one of her favorite things: dancing! 'POV: Your toddler dances to anything and everything,' he wrote over the video, adding in the caption, 'Happy 1st birthday to our little dancing queen! ❤️'
When his son Parker turned 3, he wrote a little bit about what his toddler is into right now. 'To my walk and talk compadre, my dino wrangler, my coffee connoisseur, and my little foodie,' the HGTV star wrote on Instagram. 'You've made the past 3 years the best I could have imagined.'
He added, 'I love you Parky!! Happy bday.'
It may be challenging to celebrate two kids in the same month, but Scott is doing it with style — and he seems to be truly enjoying every minute with his little cuties.Best of SheKnows

Their Superpower? Holding Things.
Everywhere you look, women have their hands full. They are clutching water bottles, phones, cups of matcha and wallets. Now that it's summer, sunglasses dangle off the pinkies of already stuffed hands. Never mind that women's handbags, where these items could theoretically live, make up an entire industry and that bigger bags, in particular, are having a moment. The phenomenon, in which women are gripping their necessities without the aid of pockets or bags, is called the claw grip, and on social media, it has been crowned as a secret superpower. In one video on TikTok, a woman challenged herself to carry as many items as possible in one hand. She managed 15, including a lip balm, a pen, a bottle of hand sanitizer, a Kindle, a notebook, a wallet, a power bank, a comb and three water bottles. An Instagram account dedicated to girls carrying things (which uses a profane synonym for things and sometimes goes by G.C.S.) posts images submitted by users of their hands full of various bric-a-brac. Some social media users have gone as far as displaying their hand-held necessities in disposable coffee trays. Others say that men could never successfully pull off this Jenga act, nor would they understand it. And these videos or photos of women clinging to their belongings are not polished; they are presented as the most mundane of girl experiences — the equivalent of posting your unesthetic breakfast. They are also hilarious. Want all of The Times? Subscribe.
