Passengers flying from London Heathrow to the United States and connecting onward may now experience faster transfers under a new pilot program. American Airlines and Delta Air Lines , in coordination with US authorities, have launched 'One Stop Security' for select flights to Dallas-Fort Worth and Atlanta, removing key bottlenecks like baggage rechecking and secondary security checks. The program currently applies to American Airlines Flight 51 from Heathrow to Dallas, and select Delta flights to Atlanta's Hartsfield-Jackson airport. Travelers on these routes will no longer need to pick up and recheck their bags or pass through TSA screening again before their onward domestic flights. For American Airlines, eligible passengers will remain within the secure area at gate level in Dallas. They will undergo a smaller passport control check and proceed directly to their next gate.Delta's process in Atlanta differs slightly. All passengers will be routed through a dedicated customs area. However, only those enrolled in Global Entry or using the Mobile Passport Control app — available to US citizens and lawful permanent residents — will be able to bypass TSA screening.Delta said this new system can save up to 40 minutes during the connection process. The Transportation Security Administration has not issued an official comment, but TSA Deputy Administrator Adam Stahl told Fox News that more international airports would join the pilot 'in the coming months.'The program, which began earlier this year in the reverse direction — from Dallas-Fort Worth to London Heathrow for travelers connecting onward to non-UK destinations — is part of an effort to reduce friction in transatlantic travel. American Airlines confirmed that it is currently offered on five daily outbound flights from Dallas to Heathrow. Both airlines have established dedicated customs zones for participating flights. While procedures vary, the goal is the same: make international-to-domestic transfers more seamless for eligible travelers.

Good news for Anil Ambani as Reliance Group plans to invest massive Rs 18000 crore in...., plan is to...

Anil Ambani (File) Good news for Anil Ambani: In a significant update for Anil Ambani, Anil Ambani's Reliance Group has charted a massive Rs 18,000 cr growth path with a focus on defence, power and clean energy sectors to chart the next phase of growth that will train resources on innovation and value creation, it said on Sunday. At a time when financial crime-fighting agency, Enforcement Directorate concluded searches at locations linked to the group as part of an investigation into alleged money laundering and siphoning of public funds, over 100 top leaders from its two listed firms — Reliance Infrastructure and Reliance Power — convened in Mumbai on Sunday to reaffirm their commitment to its ambitious growth roadmap. 'After the unanimous approval by the Board of Directors of Reliance Infrastructure and Reliance Power, just a week ago by both boards to raise Rs 18,000 crore by way of equity and debt to fund growth across defence and aerospace and renewable energy sectors, the meeting reflected unity of purpose, renewed vigour and a shared resolve to deliver long-term value for stakeholders,' the group said in a press statement. The two listed firms in separate statements earlier in the day stated that the action by ED has concluded and that the company and its officials have fully cooperated with the authority. 'Action by ED has no impact on business operations, financial performance, shareholders, employees, or any other stakeholders of the company,' they said. In the statement on the leadership meeting, the group said its two listed companies — Reliance Infrastructure and Reliance Power — are 'nearly debt-free, have net worths of Rs 14,883 crore and Rs 16,431 crore, respectively, and have 50 lakh public shareholders, one of India's largest shareholder family.' The leadership meet, it said, spotlighted high-growth verticals driving the group's future strategy. Reliance Infrastructure's focus will be on defence and aerospace, which includes plans to manufacture Falcon 2000 business executive jets in India for global markets in partnership with Dassault Aviation of France, strategic partnership with US-based Coastal Mechanics to establish MRO and overhaul hub in Maharashtra, partnership with defence manufacturer Rheinmetall AG of Germany, and strengthening strategic partnership with Diehl Defence of Germany for guided munition/terminally guided munition (TGM). Gold may remain in consolidation phase amid global trade talks: Analysts

Gold prices are expected to witness further consolidation in the coming week as investors brace for a slew of events, ranging from central bank meetings, including the US Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC) meeting's outcome, to global trade negotiations, analysts said. Traders will also closely watch macroeconomic data, including Personal Consumption Expenditures (PCE) inflation numbers, employment data from the US, manufacturing PMI numbers from across regions and developments related to the August 1 trade deal deadline. August 1 marks the end of the suspension period of Trump tariffs imposed on dozens of countries, including India. Pranav Mer, Vice President, EBG - Commodity & Currency Research, JM Financial Services, said, "Gold prices may see some consolidation in the week ahead as the focus will be on the outcome of trade negotiations between the US-Euro zone and the US-China along the policy meeting of the US Federal Reserve and Bank of Japan, both of them expected to keep interest rates on hold. "However, their official commentary will be closely watched," Mer said, adding that the Fed remains under pressure to cut interest rates, and the Bank of Japan is being tracked for potential hikes. On the domestic front, gold futures for October delivery corrected from a recent high of Rs 1,01,543 to Rs 98,764 per 10 grams, down by 2.74 per cent on the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX). Prathamesh Mallya, DVP - Research, Non-Agri Commodities and Currencies at Angel One, said, the rally in gold prices took a breather due to a combination of factors including ease of safe-haven demand, profit taking following recent highs, and optimism about global trade deals especially between the US-Japan, and the US-EU talks. "Gold prices have had a good ride in July; however, the correction was driven by lower safe-haven demand and expectations of a breakthrough in trade deals," he said. Mallya expects that precious metal prices to remain under pressure and added that the US GDP data will also play a critical role in shaping gold's trajectory in the short term. Jateen Trivedi, VP Research Analyst, Commodity and Currency at LKP Securities, said that volatility in the rupee owing to tariff-related uncertainties may offer limited support to the bullion prices in the domestic market. On the global front, Comex gold futures for August delivery slipped by USD 37.90 or 1.12 per cent to close at USD 3,335.60 per ounce in New York. N S Ramaswamy, Head of Commodity & CRM, Ventura, said gold saw a sharp drop from USD 3,438 to USD 3,335.60 per ounce amid an extended tariff truce between the US and China, which has added to this sentiment. Gold may stay weak as hopes of more trade deals or tariff delays before the August 1 deadline, Ramaswamy stated. "Safe haven demand seems to have vanished and has lifted the US stocks and Treasury yields, buoyed by strong AI-linked corporate earnings and risk-on appetite. The next move in gold will depend on whether the US Fed signals a more dovish stance or if tensions flare again on the tariff front," he said. Ramaswamy added that a possible resumption of Chinese central bank gold buying could offer support later in 2025, but for now, the market may remain in a phase of consolidation.
