Filmmaker Aditya Kriplani Breaks Down In Tears As He Reviews Siddhant Chaturvedi's Dhadak 2

Today, filmmaker Aditya Kriplani took to his social media to review the film, and while talking about it, he broke down and heaped praises on Shazia Iqbal for making this beautiful film.

In terms of occupancy, regions like Mumbai, Delhi NCR, Pune and Bengaluru are leading ever since Son of Sardaar 2 released on Friday. The comedy film is facing a tough competition from YRF's hit Saiyaara and Hombale Films' animated film Mahavatar Narsimha. Dharma's latest Dhadak 2 was also released this week. Son of Sardaar 2 is jointly produced by Ajay Devgn, Jyoti Deshpande, N.R. Pachisia and Pravin Talreja. It is a standalone sequel to the 2012 film Son of Sardaar. Starring Ajay Devgn, Mrunal Thakur, Ravi Kishan and Sanjay Mishra in the lead, the film is also the posthumous film of late actor Mukul Dev. Mukul Dev died, reportedly due to an illness. He was hospitalised in May 2025 and later moved to the intensive care unit (ICU) before he passed away on May 23rd in New Delhi. He was 54. Meanwhile, Son of Sardaar 2 received mixed reviews from critics. Film industry expert Taran Adarsh called the film 'disappointing' in his social media review.

Dhadak 2 Box Office collection Day 3: Shazia Iqbal's directorial debut starring Siddhant Chaturvedi and Triptii Dimri witnessed a slow start after finally being released in the big screens following multiple delays. Three days into its theatrical release, the movie has now crossed the ₹ 10 crore mark. According to industry tracker Sacnilk, Dhadak 2 movie's net collection as of Sunday evening, August 3, stands at ₹ 10.34 crore. The Siddhant Chaturvedi and Triptii Dimri starrer movie minted ₹ 2.74 crore, which is nearly ₹ 1 crore less as compared to Dhadak 2's collection on the first two days. However, Sunday's collection is only the early estimate, as the final figures are yet to trickle in. Dhadak 2 box office collection day 3: Shazia Iqbal's Siddhant Chaturvedi and Triptii Dimri-starrer Dhadak 2 released in theatres last Friday. Expectations were high from the remake of the Tamil film Pariyerum Perumal, and the film managed to open to mostly positive reviews. Dhadak 2 is a spiritual sequel to the 2018 Ishaan Khatter and Janhvi Kapoor-starrer Dhadak. As per Sacnilk, the film has now crossed the ₹10 crore mark. Dhadak 2 is facing stiff competition at the box office from several releases—Ajay Devgn's Son of Sardaar 2, the animation film Mahavatar Narsimha, Ahaan Panday-Aneet Padda's Saiyaara, and Vijay Deverakonda's Kingdom. Saiyaara, now in its third week of release, collected more than Dhadak 2 on Sunday, with ₹8 crore. Saiyaara has now crossed the ₹300 crore mark in India and emerged as a blockbuster. About Dhadak 2 Dhadak 2 tells the tale of a law student who falls for his classmate, only for her family to harass him due to caste differences. Talking about the film's sensitive message, Triptii told PTI, 'It should reach the maximum audience because it's entertaining and also leaves a little note, so that is something which we are constantly looking for. We found that equilibrium... There is something real and sensitive about it ('Dhadak 2'). All of these guys have more responsibility, and they are very well aware of that. That's why they have been very quiet about everything, like while we were shooting for the film, even the censor board issues, we never spoke about anything.'
