Jannik Sinner 'acting differently' in Wimbledon final as former champion taken aback by shock tactics
Emboldened Jannik Sinner is switching up the habits of a lifetime in the Wimbledon Final in a bid to rid himself of his hex against Carlos Alcaraz.
The Italian has lost five straight against his great rival and hasn't defeated him since 2023. Sinner is currently battling Alcaraz in a stone-cold classic at SW19 as he aims to win his first ever Wimbledon title.
And a new Sinner is on display according to 2013 women's champion Marion Bartoli who has been blown away by Sinner's demeanour on court.
Bartoli, writing for the BBC, said: "There's a lot more reaction than we're used to seeing from Jannik Sinner. First of all, he's going a lot more to his towel box.
"Normally he plays quickly between each point but I think he needs some extra time to really put aside the bad points and any unforced errors.
"And there's a lot more facial expression from him in this final. You can tell this match really counts for him.'

The Fir Park sensation has been attracting a lot of interest from big clubs around Europe and his club are resigned to losing him in this window. But there is a lot of talk behind the scenes, and the clubs are speaking together and we will see what happens. "The thing is with Lennon, he just wants to play football. He would have played in that game yesterday, he just wants to play football, go and enjoy it, and that is what he does best." Read more: Miller will have been watching on as Scottish players like Lewis Ferguson and Scott McTominay thrive in Italy with others like Max Johnston also doing well abroad. Rangers beat Italian club to signing as big things predicted
The Ibrox club are believed to have paid around £3.5million to sign the central defender from the English League One side as Russell Martin bolsters his defence. The 23-year-old is highly thought of at Peterborough after impressing last season having taken time to settle following his move from non-league Ramsgate. Fernandez had previously passed up on the opportunity to go to Norwich and MacAnthony has been asked why this deal was the right one for both player and club. Read more: He told the Up the Posh podcast: "Rangers is one of the biggest clubs in Britain. I'm not a Rangers fan, but at the end of the day it is a massive football club. "We knew Rangers were in for him. Russell had tipped off the manager that he was on their radar. "Barry had been working on it for five weeks. But here's the thing, there was an Italian club that just got promoted from Serie B or whatever it's called that were also at the table bidding, in the many bidders. "Here's what will blow your mind. A lot of recruitment now is data driven. If you look at the data sites and look at centre halves under 24 that have 68-plus percent aerial win rate, Manny is way up there. "Throw in the fact people would watch the Everton game in the cup, the Birmingham game at Wembley. You look at Manny in those games. "I think Manny will kill it in Scotland. I think Rangers have got a bargain and we'll make millions more." The three Italian sides promoted from Serie B were Sassuolo, Pisa and Cremonese.
