'Some matches stay with you, not for the outcome, but for what they teach,' Siraj wrote in his Instagram post that included images from the match, including him sitting on his haunches after his bizarre dismissal off off-spinner Shoaib Bashir's bowling with the target very much in sight.
Rashid hails Siraj's 'energy and passion'
The 31-year-old pacer's post receives thousands of replies, including from star leg-spinner Rashid Khan, his teammate at Gujarat Titans in the Indian Premier League.
'Mia your energy and passion for the game is on top . Mashallah you are champion bowler and special player,' the Afghan spinner wrote in reply.
Siraj had played an important role in India's commanding 336-run victory in the second Test at Edgbaston with his haul of 6/70 in the first innings. He was also among the wickets at Lord's, collecting a couple of wickets in both innings including 2/31 that helped the Indians bowl England out for 192.

Siraj later forged a 23-run partnership with all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja, the last-wicket pair grinding their way towards the 193-run target until the former was dismissed for 4 after facing 30 deliveries. Jadeja, meanwhile, remained unbeaten on 61 off 181 deliveries, having brought up his fourth consecutive half-century along the way.

The Hyderabadi speedster will be hoping to make up for the dismissal, even if he wasn't really at fault, with another match-winning performance in Manchester, where the fourth Test gets underway at Old Trafford next Wednesday.

Joe Root reclaims top spot in ICC Test rankings; Bumrah, Jadeja rise too

England's star batter Joe Root has reclaimed the No. 1 spot in the ICC Men's Test Batting Rankings, just a week after relinquishing it. Root's return to the top comes on the back of an impressive performance in the third Test of the five-match series against India at Lord's, where he scored 104 and 40, leading England to a narrow 22-run victory. This marks Root's eighth stint as the world's top-ranked Test batter. At 34 years old, Root becomes the oldest player to occupy the top Test batting spot since Kumar Sangakkara achieved the feat at age 37 in 2014. His resurgence pushes teammate Harry Brook, who briefly held the No. 1 position, down to third behind Kane Williamson of New Zealand. From the Indian side, Yashasvi Jaiswal and Rishabh Pant each dropped a place in the rankings, now sitting at fifth and eighth respectively. Captain Shubman Gill also slid down three positions to ninth. However, it wasn't all setbacks for India. All-rounder Ravindra Jadeja made a significant leap, jumping five spots to the 34th position, thanks to his gritty scores of 72 and an unbeaten 61 at Lord's. Fellow teammate KL Rahul also impressed with knocks of 100 and 39, climbing five places to sit just one spot below Jadeja in 35th place. England skipper Ben Stokes had a notable match as well, earning Player of the Match honors for his 77-run innings and a five-wicket haul. His all-round brilliance has propelled him two places up to 42nd among batters and one place higher to 45th in the bowling rankings. Bumrah Solid at the Top, Boland Breaks Into Top 10 India's pace leader Jasprit Bumrah maintains his stronghold at the summit of the Test bowling rankings, enjoying a 50-point lead over his nearest competitor, Kagiso Rabada of South Africa. Meanwhile, Australia's Scott Boland has made headlines by jumping six positions to reach a career-best sixth place. Boland has been exceptional with the ball, boasting 62 Test wickets at an astonishing average of 16.53, a mark surpassed only by all-time legends George Lohmann and Sydney Barnes. His ascent places him alongside fellow Aussies Pat Cummins, Josh Hazlewood, Nathan Lyon, and Mitchell Starc, making it five Australians in the top 10 Test bowlers, a level of dominance not seen since England had six bowlers in the top 12 back in 1958. Rounding out India's success, all-rounder Washington Sundar has also improved his standing, climbing from 58th to 46th in the rankings.

Sophie Choudry Slams Bollywood Celebrities, "Please Do Not Let Wimbledon Become The Next Cannes"

New Delhi: Over the last few days, the internet has been abuzz with pictures and videos of celebrities attending Wimbledon 2025. Sophie Choudry, however, has slammed the trend. On Thursday, July 15, the singer, actress shared an elaborate note on her Instagram Stories, criticising the growing obsession with turning Wimbledon into a fashion runway rather than appreciating the sport itself. Sophie Choudry wrote, "Oh Lord. Please do not let Wimbledon become the next Cannes." Speaking about her love for tennis, the 43-year-old said, "I have been an avid tennis lover for more than 30 years. Have literally shed tears of joy and pain over my favourites – Sampras (a legit obsession at one time), Agassi, Nadal and now Alcaraz. Have scheduled watching matches between revising for school exams. Was fortunate enough to see the legend Martina Navratilova play in her last Wimbledon final, amongst other epic matches – before it was all about an Insta post." She added, "But this year I am suddenly seeing countless 'influencers', 'celebs' from India going there just to be seen. I am not denying that some genuinely love the game, but many are there just to pose for social media. They have zero clue or interest in the game or those playing it." On a concluding note Sophie Choudry shared, "It is just Ughhh. Please let us not ruin one of the most beautiful tournaments in the world." Contrary to Sophie Choudry's opinion, Sonam Kapoor had a positive stance on celebs about the 'desification' at Wimbledon. On an Instagram post uploaded by anonymous fashion critic handle Diet Sabya, the actress commented, "Love the captions! Indians everywhere. So good na?" View this post on Instagram A post shared by DietSabya® (@dietsabya) Some of the prominent personalities who attended Wimbledon this year were Anushka Sharma-Virat Kohli, Priyanka Chopra-Nick Jonas, Parineeti Chopra-Raghav Chadha, Farhan Akhtar-Shibani Dandekar, Janhvi Kapoor, Sonam Kapoor, Preity Zinta, and Urvashi Rautela. The Wimbledon finals saw Jannik Sinner beating Carlos Alcaraz in a hard-hitting clash. Wimbledon celebrated the win by paying a tribute to Indian cinema, honouring Thalapathy Vijay and his upcoming film Jana Nayagan.

ICC Test Batting Rankings: Joe Root topples Harry Brook to reclaim No. 1 spot after Lord's heroics

Joe Root reclaimed the No. 1 spot in the ICC Men's Test Batting Rankings after his scores of 104 and 40 in the third Test against India at Lord's helped England to a thrilling 22-run win. Root, who has 888 rating points, displaced teammate Harry Brook to take the top spot in the rankings. This is Root's eighth stint at the top of the rankings for Test batters, and at the age of 34, he is the second-oldest to occupy the position, after Kumar Sangakkara, who was the top-ranked batter in Tests at the age of 37 in December 2014. Australia's Steve Smith moved up one spot to fourth in the rankings after his gritty knock of 48 in the third Test against West Indies in Jamaica. Meanwhile, Cameron Green climbed 16 spots to 29th in the rankings following scores of 46 and 42 in the low-scoring contest against the Windies. Among Indians in the top 10, Yashasvi Jaiswal and Rishabh Pant fell one spot each to sit fifth and eighth, respectively, in the list for Test batters. India skipper Shubman Gill dropped three spots to sit ninth after a disappointing outing at Lord's against England. In the Test rankings for bowlers, Australia pacer Scott Boland gained a whopping six places to climb to the sixth spot after picking a hat-trick during the pink-ball Test against West Indies in Jamaica. Mitchell Starc remained in the 10th spot despite his seven-wicket haul in Jamaica, which included a record-breaking fifer. Boland's rise means Australia now has five players in the top 10 list of the world's best Test bowlers currently, with skipper Pat Cummins (third), Josh Hazlewood (fifth) and Nathan Lyon (eighth). West Indies pacers Shamar Joseph (14th), Justin Greaves (65th), and Alzarri Joseph (29th) also made significant gains in the bowlers' rankings.
