'He Might Even Take Retirement...': Mohammed Kaif Issues Massive Bumrah Warning
Last Updated: Mohammed Kaif has suggested that Jasprit Bumrah might retire from Tests soon due to reduced pace and struggles in the Manchester Test against England. Former Indian cricketer Mohammed Kaif has said that ace pacer Jasprit Bumrah might not play in the upcoming Tests and with his pace on the lower side in the Manchester Test, he might as well retire from the longest format soon, with India staring at impending defeat in the fourth game. Bumrah has appeared off rhythm in the ongoing Manchester Test against England, with his pace reduced. In the first innings of the Manchester Test, Bumrah has managed just one wicket so far, that of wicketkeeper-batter Jamie Smith. Kaif has suggested that fans may need to start preparing for a future without Bumrah in Tests. 'Jasprit Bumrah, I don't think you will see him playing in the upcoming Tests. And he might even take retirement. He is struggling with his body. His body has totally given up," Kaif said while speaking on a video posted on his X account. 'His speeds have been on the lower side in the Manchester Test. There is no speed in this Test. And he is a selfless person. If he feels that he is not able to give 100 per cent for the country, that he is not able to win the match, that he is not getting the wickets, then he himself will refuse," Kaif said. 'This is my gut feel," the former Indian cricketer added. Despite having Bumrah available for what could be his last Test of the series as it was pre-decided that he would play three of the five Tests on England tour, the Indian bowlers struggled to break through. Bumrah featured in the first and the third Tests of the series and enjoyed immense success with the ball in both outings at Leeds and Lord's. view comments First Published: Disclaimer: Comments reflect users' views, not News18's.
