Victoria Justice Got Death Threats Over Ariana Grande Meme

Buzz Feed14-05-2025
I think we've ALL seen that famous Victoria Justice meme that went viral in 2017.
The video in question features then-teenage Victoria being interviewed outdoors with her fellow Victorious cast members, including Ariana Grande, Liz Gillies, and Daniella Monet. When the group were asked which cast member sings the most outside of filming, and largely agreed that it was Ariana, Victoria — who played leading character Tori Vega on the hit Nickelodeon series — interjected and said, 'I think we ALL sing.'
The clip seemingly sparked a load of tension between Ariana and Victoria, with the pair appearing to shade each other over the years. However, Victoria shut down the long-running feud rumors during a 2023 interview.
Fast forward to today, and Victoria has reflected on the viral moment once again during a new appearance on Mythical Kitchen's Last Meals.
While reacting to online praise, Victoria noted that it was 'very nice' to see people being kind to her because for so long, she'd dealt with a lot of hate. 'There was a time for so long on the internet where I felt like people hated me,' she said. 'It can really be a ruthless place. And mob mentality is such a real thing.'
When asked what she thought prompted the 'hate train,' Victoria mentioned the viral meme. Explaining that she was only '16 or 17' when the video was filmed, Victoria recalled feeling pretty confused by all the immense hate.
'First of all, it's factual. We did all sing, OK? What do you want from me?! Speaking the facts,' she said.
'And then it's like I got all this hate, SO much hate,' she said. 'I'm like, 'What did I do? What did I do?' I'm sitting here living my life, just trying to work, live. It was wild.'
Victoria went on to recall receiving death threats over the entire thing. 'I got so much hate, dude. I got death threats,' she said. "I felt bad for my mom, 'cause she was looking at all this stuff online and she was freaking out."
'It really took on a life of its own and became a thing,' she said, before adding: 'Now I think it's funny. I'm in on the joke. I even say it to myself all the time…It was definitely a thing where it was like, the internet hates Victoria Justice right now.'

EastEnders star James Bye's son, 2, rushed to A&E after eating 'deadly' common plant in the garden

EastEnders star James Bye's toddler son Rufus was rushed to the hospital after he ate an 'incredibly toxic' garden plant. The actor, who played Martin Fowler in the BBC soap, shares Rufus, 2, and three other children with his wife Victoria - Edward, ten, Louis, eight, Hugo, five. Victoria revealed Rufus' tongue began to swell and he was left 'screaming' in pain 'minutes' after eating an Italian arum plant - which can cause skin irritations, arrhythmia, and internal bleeding. She said 'all hell let loose' and they ended up spending the night in A&E. 'So. More of a public service announcement than a post really but as we all know, life with kids is anything but predictable,' Victoria explained in a video on Instagram on Thursday: 'So, after spending the night in hospital (I swear they'll start charging us rent soon) after Rufus decided to snack on a plant in the garden — one I didn't even know was dangerous. All hell let loose.' She went on: 'Within minutes his tongue had started to swell, he was screaming & we had to call 999. (As always - NHS heroes, honestly.) 'Thankfully he's absolutely fine now but it turned out the culprit was Italian Arum, a really common plant with bright orange berries that looks innocent but is seriously toxic if ingested. 'I mean, I had no idea. And once I started looking into it… turns out there are loads of plants like that quietly minding their own (deadly) business in UK gardens.' The writer then shared a list of other common yet poisonous garden plants - including foxgloves, deadly nightshade, lily of the valley, rhubarb leaves, yew, daffodil bulbs, monkshood, hemlock, hydrangea, laburnum seeds, oleander, wisteria pods, bluebell and snowdrop bubs, ivy, autumn crocus, and buckthorn. Victoria concluded: 'So there you go… I debated whether I should post this serious mum fail… 'But if it could help anyone else avoid a night in A&E then feel free to share away with a friend who also has a little one with a fondness for putting everything in their mouths except actual food.' James left EastEnders in February when his character Martin Fowler was killed off during the 40th anniversary live episode. Martin was crushed by a steel beam while rescuing his longtime love Stacey Slater after an explosion at the Queen Vic pub.
