Woman stabbed in hospital carpark in S. Korea, attacker caught by civilians
The suspect, in his 30s, is currently under investigation by the Ulsan Bukbu Police Station for the attack, which took place at a hospital carpark at around 3.38pm (0638 GMT) on July 28.
The victim sustained severe injuries and had yet to regain consciousness as of July 29 morning.
A group of people at the scene stopped the suspect by blocking his vehicle as he tried to escape. Some then used a fire extinguisher to break the windows and overpower him.
He was arrested by police officers who arrived shortly after the attack.
The police are investigating the motive for the brutal attack. They are also reviewing whether to officially commend those who aided the arrest. - The Korea Herald/ANN

The three Singaporean men allegedly did so between July 4 and 30. There was a gag order issued on the woman's identity. A police prosecutor asked for all three to be remanded at Central Police Division, with permission to take them out for investigations. Their cases will be heard again on Aug 8. If convicted, they could each be jailed for up to seven years and fined up to $100,000. They are among eight men and 20 women, aged between 21 and 61, who were arrested for their suspected involvement in vice-related offences. In a July 31 statement, the police said the raids on July 30 took place around Jalan Layang Layang in the Toh Tuck area, Pasir Panjang Road, Boon Lay Avenue, Craig Road in Tanjong Pagar, Jurong West Street 71, Beach Road, Tai Seng Avenue, Bencoolen Street, Kim Yam Road in River Valley, Onan Road, Orchard Road, and Jalan Kemaman off Balestier Road. Other items seized included cash, funds in bank accounts, two mobile phones, laptops and vice-related paraphernalia. His wife was beaten with a crowbar, strangled with a rope and struck with a machete. The two children were hacked to death with the machete, which Zakrzewski had purchased during his lunch break after being informed that his wife planned to divorce him. Zakrzewski fled to Hawaii and changed his name following the murders but turned himself in four months later after being identified by friends on a television show called "Unsolved Mysteries." Mumbai customs seizes Rs 8 crore worth of Hydroponic weed at CSMI Airport; 4 passengers arrested
ANI 31 Jul 2025, 12:34 GMT+10 Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], July 31 (ANI): In a major crackdown on narcotics smuggling, officers of the Airport Commissionerate, Mumbai Customs Zone-III, have seized 8.012 kg of suspected hydroponic weed (marijuana) valued at approximately Rs 8 crore during operations carried out between July 29 and 30, an official statement said. The seizures were made across four cases at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (CSMI), resulting in the arrest of four passengers, as stated in the press release. According to a press release, the action was based on specific intelligence inputs. In the first incident, Customs officers intercepted three passengers who had arrived from Bangkok on flight number VZ760. Upon examining their baggage, officials discovered 1.990 kg of suspected hydroponic marijuana concealed inside vacuum-sealed black and transparent plastic packets within their trolley bags. The estimated market value of the contraband is around Rs 2 crore. The three passengers were arrested under the provisions of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, 1985. In a separate operation based on passenger profiling, Customs officials intercepted another passenger arriving from Bangkok on flight number 6E1060. During the examination of the baggage, the Customs officers recovered 6.022 kg of suspected hydroponic weed, worth an estimated Rs 6 crore in the illicit market. The narcotic substances were cleverly concealed inside the checked-in trolley bag carried by the passenger. The individual was also arrested under the NDPS Act, 1985, the press release stated. (ANI)
