Man arrested for allegedly running police blockade in B.C.
A man accused of crashing into a police car while trying to evade a blockade on Vancouver Island now faces several charges.
West Shore RCMP say the crash happened at around midnight Sunday when a patrol officer in Langford saw a 2002 Chevrolet Malibu sedan with a licence plate that had been reported as stolen.
Police say the driver didn't pull over when the officer tried at traffic stop, so a blockade was set up along Sooke Road in another attempt to stop the vehicle.
The sedan crashed into a police cruiser at the blockade.
No one was hurt and the 36-year-old driver was arrested at the scene.
The suspect faces charges of resisting arrest, possession of stolen property, operating a vehicle while prohibited and dangerous operation of a vehicle, and he remains in custody until his next court date in July.

Calgary police say eight injured after equipment falls at outdoor market
CALGARY – Police in Calgary say eight people were injured when equipment at a temporary African market outside City Hall collapsed. A news release from police says seven adults and one youth were taken to hospital Saturday, all with non-life-threatening injuries. Police say they and Occupational Health and Safety officials continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the collapsed equipment. Police dog injured after loaded gun goes off during post-arrest search in Ontario
Police in Halton Region say a search dog was injured earlier this week after finding a loaded firearm during a post-arrest search in Burlington, Ont. Investigators say the gun went off after Freddy the police dog's paw came into contact with it in a wooded area of Sherwood Forest Park, where they say a carjacking suspect discarded it. Police say two people in a grey Chevy pick-up truck followed a female victim driving a Porsche Macan in the area of Guelph Line and Derry Road late afternoon on Wednesday. They say both were wearing masks and pointing handguns as they approached the victim after she pulled over in a school parking lot. Investigators say the victim surrendered her Porsche and the accused fled the area, driving both vehicles away. They say both vehicles were located around an hour later, and the suspects were arrested Thursday afternoon at two different locations. They face a slew of charges. Man charged with murder after shooting at Ajax, Ont., GO Transit station: police
Police east of Toronto say a man has been charged with murder after a shooting at a GO Transit station left another man dead on Sunday. Durham Region police say officers responded to an assist ambulance call at the station in Ajax, Ont., around 11:30 p.m. They say when officers arrived, they found an unconscious male with gunshot wounds. Police say Isaiah Little, 28, was taken to a Toronto-area trauma centre where he died from his injuries. They say a 33-year-old Ajax man was arrested and charged with second-degree murder on Thursday. Anyone with information is asked to contact police.
