One of the best Zenith watches from last year just got an electric new colour
Zenith's DEFY Revival Diver – one of the standout reissues from 2024 – has just resurfaced in an electrifying new look. First shown off in a vibrant orange at Watches and Wonders 2024, this retro-inspired dive watch now adds a stealthy new 'Shadow' edition to its growing roster. And it's a stunner.
Originally based on the 1969 DEFY Plongeur A3648, the Revival Diver stays faithful to that original chunky tool-watch aesthetic, with its compact 37mm case, four-thirty crown, and bold rotating bezel. But now it's been reimagined in micro-blasted titanium with a matte finish that gives it a darker, moodier edge.
This new version doesn't just look cool – it's built for real diving. We're talking 600 metres of water resistance, just like the original, and that same quirky fourteen-sided outer bezel. This time, though, the inner rotating bezel gets a bright yellow-tinted sapphire insert, tying in with the pops of yellow on the dial.
That dial still rocks the same matte black base, with clean Super-LumiNova-filled hands and markers. The yellow accents aren't just for style – they boost visibility when you're underwater.
Powering the watch is Zenith's Elite 670 automatic movement. It's slim, reliable, and visible through the display case back – something you rarely see on a watch that can survive at 1,969ft (a nice nod to its birth year).
Like its orange sibling, the Revival Diver Shadow comes on a retro-futuristic Gay Frères-style bracelet, also in micro-blasted titanium. It's light, comfy, and nails that old-school-meets-modern feel.
Also joining the Shadow squad is the beefier DEFY Extreme Diver. This 42.5mm brute shares the same dark titanium case and yellow detailing but adds a ceramic unidirectional bezel fully filled with Super-LumiNova, a helium escape valve for saturation diving, and a seriously rugged construction.
It's powered by the El Primero 3620 – a high-frequency movement beating at 5Hz, with silicon components, a 60-hour power reserve, and a display case back to show it off.
The DEFY Extreme Diver Shadow Edition is available now priced at $12,300 / £11,100.
The DEFY Revival Shadow Edition is priced at $8,200 / £7,400.

Fast X: Part 2 Release Date & Brian's Return Get Huge Updates From Vin Diesel
Fast & Furious franchise star and producer Vin Diesel recently teased the release date window of Fast X: Part 2 and the return of Brian O'Conner, previously portrayed by the late Paul Walker. As of 2025, 10 movies have come out in the main branch of the franchise. It was previously reported that the upcoming 11th film would also be the last chapter of the Diesel-led movie series. However, the franchise will potentially continue through spin-offs. Diesel made an appearance at the FuelFest, an automobile festival organized by Paul Walker's brother Cody and Tyrese Gibson, and revealed key details about Fast X: Part 2, the finale of the Fast & Furious movie series. He announced that the movie will debut in April 2027. 'As you all know, we've been working very hard to bring you the finale,' Diesel began while addressing the crowd at Fuel Fest. 'Our franchise is only made possible because of the love that you all have for this culture called the car culture.' He disclosed that he had a meeting with Universal, the production company behind the franchise, a day ago, and the studio asked him if they could have the release date for the Fast 11 movie in April 2027. The MCU actor revealed that, in response, he listed three conditions that the fans have been asking for. Diesel said the first condition was to bring the franchise back to Los Angeles, California, which served as the setting of the first movie, 2001's The Fast and the Furious. The second thing, according to the actor, was returning the narrative to the car culture, the street racing. While the earlier movies in the franchise heavily focused on cars and the culture around them, later entries gradually shifted away from that. The third condition, Diesel revealed, was 'reuniting Dom (Diesel) and Brian O'Conner.' He added, 'That is what you gonna get in the finale,' indicating that Universal has agreed to his conditions. Paul Walker last portrayed Brian in 2015's Furious 7. He died in a tragic vehicular accident two years earlier. Walker's brothers, Cody and Caleb, and John Brotherton served as stand-ins for him for certain scenes in Furious 7. The 2023 release Fast X had archival footage featuring Walker's character. At the time of this article's composition, it's unclear how and in what capacity Brian will appear in Fast X: Part 2.

Car aiming ‘to replace Tesla'

When Tesla first landed in Australia, many Aussies didn't quite understand what it was but they were captivated by its futuristic design – and they wanted it. At the recent Melbourne International EV Show, News Corp had an exclusive look at a new EV that's provoking that same reaction – XPeng P7+. The P7+ is the latest electric sedan from China and it could be the first to challenge the Tesla Model 3 and BYD Seal, and fill the void left by the discontinued Tesla Model S. Unveiled by TrueEV, XPeng's exclusive Australian importer and distributor, the P7+ hasn't been confirmed for local sale yet. Picture: Supplied However, TrueEV founder Jason Clarke said the vehicle is under serious evaluation for the Australian market. 'We have to do testing, we know the price point is going to be so much lower, we have to recommend that to XPeng,' he said. Clarke said the absence of the Tesla Model S is 'disappointing' for consumers but the P7+ could be the alternative. 'The P7+ could take the spot as an executive sedan, it fills the void left by the Tesla Model S, which was priced $200,000 plus,' he said. Measuring 5068mm in length with a 3000mm wheelbase, the P7+ is larger than its rivals the BYD Seal and Tesla Model 3. It feels luxurious as if it was made for executives and families. But what sets the P7+ apart is its advanced 'AI-defined' technology which assists with driving and the overall cockpit experience. The car continuously monitors battery usage, drive behaviour, environment, adapting its performance in real time to maximum both range and longevity. The P7+ uses a single rear-mounted motor producing up to 230kW drawing power from a 74.9 LFP battery from EVE Engery Co. The Tesla Model S has been discontinued in Australia. Picture: AP Range is officially rated between 580km and 610km (WLTP) which is expected for a family car these days. XPeng claims 10-80 per cent DC fast charging in just 12 minutes on 800V infrastructure, or closer to 20 minutes using current Australian networks. Inside, the cabin features a 15.6-inch infotainment screen, powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8295P chip which controls the X-GPT smart cockpit. There's also an 8-inch rear-seat touchscreen, rear seat heating, ventilation and massage, air purifiers in the glovebox, and dual 50W wireless charges. Boot space is rated at 725L, expanding to 2221L with rear seats folded. There's no spare tyre but a repair kit included. The XPeng P7+ is a bold bet, a sleek and futuristic, tech-loaded executive EV that brings something fresh to Australia. If confirmed for sale locally, this will be one to watch.
