Grizzlies Announce Trade With Warriors on Sunday
The Memphis Grizzlies are making moves in the offseason after their first round playoff loss to eventual NBA champions Oklahoma City Thunder. Following the subpar campaign, Memphis has been aggressive in reconstructing its roster around superstars Ja Morant and Jaren Jackson Jr. by adding young defensive talent and improving backcourt depth after moving on from key veteran guard Desmond Bane.

So far this summer, the Grizzlies have made several notable moves through the draft and trade market, including shuffling future draft picks and bringing in prospects who fit the franchise's trademark defensive identity. The front office is adding versatile, high-motor players to complement Morant and Jackson Jr. as the franchise looks to stay competitive in a loaded Western Conference.

On Sunday, Memphis announced its latest move — a previously reported deal with the Golden State Warriors that gives the Grizzlies the draft rights to Jahmai Mashack. According to the team's official announcement, Golden State traded Mashack's rights to Memphis in exchange for the rights to Justinian Jessup and a top-50 protected 2032 second-round pick.
The Warriors made the swap after jumping three spots in the second round to select Florida guard Will Richard at No. 56, while Memphis received Mashack, originally taken No. 59 overall.

Mashack arrives in Memphis known for his defensive tenacity and high-energy playing style. The 6-foot-4 guard made his mark at Tennessee, earning SEC All-Defensive Team honors this past season while averaging 6.0 points, 4.2 rebounds, 1.5 assists, and 1.7 steals per game. Known for his toughness and his willingness to guard multiple positions, Mashack projects as a high-energy role player who fits Memphis's physical style.
While he wasn't the flashiest prospect on draft boards, Mashack's work ethic and defensive upside could make him a valuable piece for the Grizzlies' rotation as they reload for next season. He also brings an inspiring backstory of resilience, having overcome Guillain-Barré syndrome as a child to become a standout defender in the SEC.

Red Sox hit 3 home runs, power past Rockies 9-3 to post 4th straight victory
BOSTON (AP) — Roman Anthony hit a two-run home run, Ceddanne Rafaela homered for the third straight game and the Boston Red beat the the Colorado Rockies 9-3 on Monday night. Boston rookie Richard Fitts (1-3) allowed five hits, two earned runs and struck out six over 5 2/3 innings to notch his first major league victory. Romy Gonzalez added a solo homer, and Abraham Toro had a two-run double to help Boston post its fourth straight win and seventh in nine games. Rockies starter Austin Gomber (0-2) exited after 4 2/3 innings, yielding five runs and seven hits, including Anthony's homer. Colorado's first run of the game was set up by a throwing error on Boston shortstop Trevor Story. In the sixth inning, the Rockies pulled to 5-3 on a fielder's choice RBI by Michael Toglia and RBI single by Ryan McMahon.
