Man stabbed with 'broken shards of glass' after fight over Pokemon cards: Police

A man in California was stabbed on Saturday, July 5, after what police said started as a fight over Pokémon cards.
According to a press release from the Colma Police Department, officers were called to a local GameStop store at around 9:20 a.m. local time after reports of a fight inside the store. Once they arrived, they found a man with multiple cuts and stab wounds, police said.
The victim was taken to a hospital with life-threatening injuries but is now in stable condition, according to police.
Colma is located about 11 miles south of San Francisco.
Police said that two suspects fled from the store in two separate cars.
Both suspects were arrested by police later that day. According to the press release, police identified the suspects as 27-year-old Isaiah Calles and 49-year-old Miguel Orellanas-Flores.
Police: Fight started over Pokémon cards
Police said that the stabbing came after a fight between the victim and Orellanas-Flores after he allegedly tried to cut in line to buy Pokémon cards.
Police said the argument turned physical when Orellanas-Flores allegedly struck the victim "in the back of the head with a glass mason jar." The second man then "grabbed the broken shards of glass of the mason jar and began to stab the victim multiple times," according to police.
Police arrested both men and charged them with assault with a deadly weapon, assault with a deadly weapon causing great bodily injury, battery with serious bodily injury and conspiracy to commit a crime.
Both men were booked into the San Mateo County Jail. Online court records show Calles and Orellanas-Flores' first court dates will be on Tuesday, July 8.
USA TODAY was not able to immediately find an attorney representing either man at this time.

At approximately 2:03 p.m. on Sunday, July 6, deputies responded to 'a verbal bomb threat' allegedly made by passenger Taj Taylor, 27, on Allegiant Flight 1023 while flying to Roanoke, Virginia, from Florida, the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office stated in a news release. 'Detectives assigned to the Threat Management Division are assisting with a bomb threat investigation that occurred on an Allegiant flight,' said PCSO. 'Detectives learned that passenger, Taj Taylor, told another passenger that his laptop was a bomb. The passenger immediately notified the flight attendants.' According to detectives, 'several' people on board the plane also heard Taylor allegedly say that 'he had a bomb.' The plane then made an emergency landing at St. Pete-Clearwater Airport in Florida at approximately 2:08 p.m. local time, per the release. Taylor's belongings were searched, though 'no bomb was found,' said PCSO. An Allegiant Air spokesperson said in a statement, per USA Today, "Allegiant does not tolerate disruptive behavior of any kind, so the decision was made to return to the airport. The plane landed safely and was met by law enforcement officers, who took the passenger into custody. We apologize for the inconvenience this has caused our passengers and thank them for their patience.' Taylor was arrested at 11:23 p.m. local time on Sunday before being released the next day, according to an arrest report obtained by PEOPLE. Taylor allegedly told authorities that he was 'recently released from a mental health facility' and "took his medication last night and was currently suffering from a lack of clarity,' according to the FBI affidavit obtained by USA Today and the New York Post. Taylor didn't admit to making bomb threats on the plane but mentioned that the woman he sat next to was 'rude to him," per the outlets. According to his Instagram profile, Taylor is a seminary student at Liberty University in Lynchburg, Virginia, a clergyman, and an Air Force veteran. NYP reported that Taylor also played football in high school and suffered a severe Grade 3 concussion while playing as a sophomore in 2013. On Saturday, July 5 at approximately 9:22 a.m. local time, Colma Police Department responded to reports "of a physical altercation involving multiple individuals at GameStop, located at 4929 Junipero Serra Boulevard," per a press release shared on Facebook. "Upon arrival, officers located one victim with lacerations to the head and multiple stab wounds," the release stated. "Officers immediately began to render medical aid to the victim at the scene, and he was transported to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries. The victim is currently in stable condition," police added. Officers said that a verbal argument had broken out between the victim and one of the two suspects — Miguel OrellanasFlores, a 49-year-old San Francisco resident — after OrellanasFlores "tried to cut in line to buy Pokémon cards." The second suspect has been identified as San Francisco resident Isaiah Calles, 27. "The argument turned physical when OrellanasFlores struck the victim in the back of the head with a glass mason jar. The second male, Calles, then grabbed the broken shards of glass of the mason jar and began to stab the victim multiple times," police said in the release. Both were transported and booked into the San Mateo County Jail." Video footage shared by KRON4 showed the brawl occurring on the street outside the store, with one of the men insisting he'd apologized before the fight broke out. Before the suspects' arrest, police said they'd "both fled the scene in two different vehicles, a Honda, and a Toyota, prior to officers' arrival." "The victim provided officers with photos of the suspect's vehicles, that included the license plates," the release noted. "The Honda was located by Colma Police Officers in the area of Junipero Serra Boulevard and Serramonte Boulevard.
