Grants offered to enhance Minnesota specialty crop markets
The Specialty Crop Block Grant Program (SCBGP) funds projects that will:
—Market and promote specialty crops
—Support research and development related to specialty crops
—Expand the availability and access to specialty crops
—Address challenges faced by producers of specialty crops
The MDA anticipates awarding approximately $1.25 million in grants using a competitive review process, with a maximum award of $125,000 and a minimum award of $25,000. There is no matching requirement.
Applications for 2025 SCBGP funds must be submitted by 4 p.m. on Wednesday, March 19.

Starting on July 28, the mega-retailer is altering its price match policy, which for nearly a decade, gave customers a refund if they bought an item at Target and found the identical item for less at either ' Amazon, Walmart, or with Target Circle' within two weeks of the purchase. In 2023, net sales dropped $1.7 billion, or 1.6%, and declined again in 2024, though comparative year-to-year sales were up about 1% (2023 was a 53-week year). In May, Target reported first quarter earnings, including net sales of $23.8 billion compared with $24.5 billion in 2024. The company cut its annual sales projections and said it expects a low-single-digit decline for 2025, after projecting a 1% increase for sales in March. ASM Second-Quarter Orders Miss Due to Advanced Logic Bookings
ASM International NV 's second-quarter orders missed expectations due to lower bookings from its advanced logic/foundry business segment. Orders fell 4% from a year earlier at constant currency to €702 million ($825 million), ASM said in a statement Tuesday. That compares with the average analyst estimate of €837 million, according to data compiled by Bloomberg.
