But that's not all as the partnership between Xbox and Square Enix continues apace. Last year, Xbox brought the critically acclaimed MMORPG Final Fantasy XIV to the system. Later it was rumored, due to Square Enix's stated desire to expand their games beyond the PlayStation ecosystem, that it would bring the Final Fantasy VII remake project to Xbox as well. That rumor has been proven true. The absurdly titled Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade, which is the first entry in the FF7 reimagination project combined with the Yuffie-centric DLC, is coming to Xbox this winter.

Godzilla fans, we might have just gotten a first look at one of the most iconic adversaries in kaiju history… Mechagodzilla. The image features Godzilla battling Mechagodzilla, and this is for a Godzilla Minus One theme park attraction: Godzilla The Ride: Giant Monsters Ultimate Battle at Seibuen Amusement Park in Japan. Godzilla Minus One director Takashi Yamazaki is working on this attraction, and there's no doubt that fans are hoping this sets up a face off in the Godzilla Minus One sequel. Here's what the ride's early tease had to say: 'While there are few specifics about the content of the new attraction, the plan is for the scope and scale to surpass that of the original acclaimed theme park experience, offering fans once again an experience unlike anything they've ever witnessed featuring the King of the Monsters.' No specifics have been shared on this version of Mechagodzilla's origin story, but we know it's entirely Yamazaki's creation. And if it's anything like Minus One, we're in for something intense, grounded, and terrifying. The director himself shared his excitement about this unique Mecha debut: 'I'm thrilled to return to Godzilla's world from the passenger seat. What powerful foes will emerge? Where will this ride take us next? As a ride enthusiast myself, I can't wait for my first spin—and I'm working day and night with our team to make this the most terrifying ride in the world.' Mechagodzilla, of course, has a deep history in the franchise, starting with 1974's Godzilla vs. Mechagodzilla , where he was originally an alien weapon. Since then, the mechanical menace has taken on many forms, including the Apex Cybernetics version in Godzilla vs. Kong . There's no release date yet for the Godzilla Minus One sequel, but production is underway. Between this Mechagodzilla tease, the booming MonsterVerse content from Legendary, and Toho gearing up for its next move, the kaiju arena is about to get a lot more crowded… and a lot more metal.

F1: The Movie Speeds Through Real Races Around the World
What is your own relationship with Formula 1? Like many young boys, growing up, I enjoyed watching it. It was a world that seemed so glamorous, so exciting. Those were the Ayrton Senna days, Nigel Mansell, Schumacher… So, when I first got the call, it was like, wow, okay, this is mega exciting, the little boy in me is able to kind of come out again. Of course, the sport is so different compared to what it was like so there was much to learn. How many races did you film at? Were there some that appealed more to Joseph (Kosinski) and the team than others? I want to say it was nine races. Let's see, we started at Silverstone, then went to Hungary, then Monza, Spa in Belgium, a splinter unit to the Dutch Grand Prix and Japan, Mexico City, Abu Dhabi, then Las Vegas, and back to Silverstone. It wasn't always perfectly linear, but the choices were made by Joe [Kosinski] to have the races that had the most pertinent story points. Of course, there are certain tracks which are especially iconic, yeah? Silverstone, where F1 started; Spa in Belgium, because of the Eau Rouge (one of the most iconic and challenging corners on the Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps); Japan because the fans are extraordinary; and Abu Dhabi because it's the last and the story had to end there. Abu Dhabi is a very interesting race, because it starts in the daytime, then goes through dusk, and ends at night—all in a two-and-a-half-hour window. Monza is great because the (Ferrari) fans go wild; you'll notice that in the film. Mexico City has this sort of gladiatorial arena which the cars drive into and out of. No other track has that. And quite frankly, the crowds were the most exciting. Tell us about the APX GP garage. It looked so legit. The brief, very clearly, was authenticity, but we wanted to own the design of it. There's this Spanish architect called Santiago Calatrava that we all like and he does these incredible, kind of sweeping white buildings and Joe, who is himself an architect and has a great eye for design and detail, thought it was a nice starting point. In most F1 garages, form follows function. Don't get me wrong, they're still great, but because ours didn't have to behave like a garage, we had a bit more freedom. The car is a central character in the movie so we were able to design it to showcase the car (as much as the wonderful cast). And because the car is black and gold, and because the racing suits were white, we decided that we wanted to have the garage be one tone, so it looked really slick. Lewis came into our garage on opening day at Silverstone and went, hey guys, this looks super cool. But it also had to behave like a real garage to the point where you could open any drawer in any of the cabinets, and the right tools would need to be in the right place.

You Only Have Until July 7 to Grab Some Rare First Chapter Lorcana Cards
The folks over at Ravensburger have been doing a lot of good work for fans of its wildly successful trading card game (TCG), Lorcana. The Reign of Jafar set gave us some amazing new cards, and the new Fabled set is looking to bring back some fan favorites as the game moves into a new phase, one that almost all TCGs go through, by rotating sets out of standard play. Because the first four sets will no longer be legal in competition play, the Fabled set will reprint some cards from those first four to allow them to be used in competitions. And as a bonus, you don't have to use the reprinted art card, but can use any card with the same name. To that end, Ravensburger has announced a lottery to allow you to purchase some of the original First Chapter and Floodborn booster packs, and not just English ones but Japanese and Chinese variants, too. Not all of the ones you buy are available to use in competition play, but all of them will look awesome in your collection. And the ones that do end up with reprints in the Fabled set can be used in competition play to add a flair of uniqueness. James Bricknell/CNET There are a couple of caveats to the lottery. Firstly, you must have an EQL account to participate in the lottery. Ravensburger uses the EQL platform to ensure that no resellers or bots can enter the lottery in bulk and that it's as fair as possible. It's easy to sign up on the Ravensburger website, so you should be able to get in the lottery ahead of the stop time. The lottery is open now, but closes on Monday, July 7, at 9 p.m. PST. Lorcana is not only one of my favorite games for two players, but one of the best games to give as a gift to a loved one. It takes everything fun about Magic: The Gathering and makes it accessible to everyone while giving you a Disney flair that's hard to beat.
