Outrage in Greece as Zante nightclub holds X-rated 'chocolate-licking' contest with revellers 'simulating sex acts' on stage

Daily Mail2 days ago
A shocking 'chocolate-licking' contest where participants simulate sex acts on stage has caused outrage after taking place at a popular club in Zante.
A lewd video appearing to show the contest on the renowned Greek party island has circulated online, provoking fury in Greece.
The controversial footage, posted on TikTok and captioned 'just your average day in Zante', shows four young men, two topless, lined up against a wall.
Four young women kneel on the ground and bend over near the men's crotches, surrounded by dozens of revellers.
The bizarre competition, which took place last week and has been reported locally and on social media as an 'oral sex competition, is filmed by a number of fellow party-goers.
It has also sparked a police complaint, with Deputy Mayor for Tourism Angeliki Avgoustinou claiming the municipality has filed a complaint with police to investigate, Athens Voice reports.
However, the club has since hit back, claiming the video merely shows a 'chocolate licking' contest.
The venue told Npress: 'There was no oral sex. The game was about licking chocolate, in a context of humor and fun.
'It looks different in the video, but there was no sexual act.'
MailOnline has contacted the club and Greek Police for comment.
Local media have reported that 'questions are being expressed about the type of tourism we want to have as a country' as a result of the astonishing footage.
'This behavior caused disgust, violating human dignity and damaging the reputation of Zakynthos as a tourist destination,' Greek outlet Directus said.
'The lack of immediate reaction from the authorities intensifies the dissatisfaction of residents and organizations, who are calling for measures to protect public order and the image of Zakynthos,' it added.
'Every year this happens... all the Brits and Italians show up, and it's a total mess,' one social media user commented.
'I worked a season at a place a little further down. The video is pretty tame compared to what really goes down.'
Zante, also known as Zakynthos, is a hugely popular party island and thousands of young British tourists flock in their droves every year.
The alleged competition is far from the first controversy to take place on the island.
In 2008, nine British women were arrested while on holiday on prostitution charges after being paid to take part in an oral sex competition.
Meanwhile, last month an enormous brawl broke out at a Zante beach club.
A pair of topless young men in white shorts appeared to be fighting with several older men, also all dressed in white, while a huge mob encircle them.
At one point what seems to be a member of bar staff chucks a bucket of ice water over the crowd to try and disperse the violent mob.
But their best efforts had little effect as seconds later the group hurl each other around and throw fists.
In the footage shared on social media, one of the young men can be seen swinging a savage punch at an older man's face in what was ironically dubbed a 'wholesome moment at the white party'.
Shocked members of the crowd can be seen pointing and laughing at the shameless fighters.

Jack Whitehall's fiancée Roxy Horner opens up about living with type 1 diabetes as she reunites with comedian in Corfu after 'months apart'

Jack Whitehall 's fiancée Roxy Horner has opened up about living with type 1 diabetes in a candid Instagram post. The model, 34, took to Instagram on Wednesday to share that she had reunited with the comedian, 37, for a family holiday to Corfu with their daughter Elsie, one, after 'months apart'. She shared a stunning snap taking in the views while wearing a white tiered summer dress and posed for silly snaps with Jack. In the post, Roxy revealed that travelling with type 1 diabetes can be challenging as she shared that she bring a Dexcom G7 glucose sensor with her to monitor her levels. The glucose monitor could be seen attached to her arm in the snaps, while in a video she showed how it is administered. 'After months apart, we've finally made it to our much needed family holiday in Corfu ❤️ My heart is so full having our little family all together again,' she said. 'Traveling as someone living with type 1 diabetes comes with a lot of baggage (literally, lol) and spontaneity for me means planning, packing and double checking!! 'But thanks to my Dexcom G7 CGM, I've got one less thing to stress about. It gives me the freedom to stay present, enjoy the moment, and soak up every moment with my family. My CGM is waterproof so I can swim whenever I choose, and the 30 minute warm up means I never need to go long without my numbers.' She continued: 'Here's to love, adventure, and tech that makes it all a little easier ✨.' Roxy confirmed her engagement to Jack back in December following a flurry of speculation. She revealed the pair were indeed set to tie the knot as she showed off her pear-shaped diamond ring last month. Taking to her Instagram ahead of New Year's Eve, she shared a compilation of all her highlights from the last two months of 2024, including several looks at her huge sparkler and a glimpse of the moment Jack popped the question. And further confirming that the couple were to become husband and wife, she shared a photo of Jack with the caption: 'Best fiancé in the world', followed by a diamond ring emoji. The video began with Roxy showing a diamond ring balloon and engagement box-themed Christmas tree ornament, before she spun her own hand around to reveal her real ring. 'Traveling as someone living with type 1 diabetes comes with a lot of baggage (literally, lol) and spontaneity for me means planning, packing and double checking!!' she wrote While one shot appeared to hint at Jack's romantic proposal, as Roxy showed off her dazzling rock in front of a line of lit-up Christmas trees. Captioning the special reel, she penned: 'How could I fit in a whole year of highlights in one video? Here is a snippet of the last 2 magical months of 2024, feeling utterly blessed.' The video was met with a plethora of well wishes from her pals and fans, with one notable comment being from her new fiancé, who simply penned: 'My love', along with three red heart emojis. The couple had previously sparked rumours they were set to walk down the aisle, when the mother-of-one showed off a huge diamond ring at Winter Wonderland last month. Snapping selfies with Jack and Elsie, Roxy could also be seen sporting a tear shaped diamond set on a silver band on her engagement finger. The couple have been in a relationship since 2020, before welcoming daughter Elsie in September 2023 at the iconic Lindo Wing, in which a host of royals have given birth. Jack admitted the experience was both 'utterly overwhelming' and 'joyous' in ways he 'couldn't have imagined'. He wrote at the time: 'Well this just happened! Utterly overwhelming and joyous in ways I couldn't have even imagined. 'In awe of my partner @roxyhorner who has been amazing throughout this journey and is going to be the greatest mum ever. So excited to have started a family of my own. 'Having vowed I'd never be that guy I am now 100% going to be the parent that shows everyone endless pictures of their kid. I also wore skechers to hospital, I think I must accept I am a full blown dad now. Name wise after this weekend I think 'rice, rice, baby' has a nice ring to it.' The couple then revealed Elsie's name which means 'Pledged to God' in Hebrew.

Amanda Holden, 54, flashes her peachy bottom in a windswept kaftan as she shares racy poolside snaps during her Greece getaway

Amanda Holden shared a very cheeky snap of herself flashing her bottom in a windswept kaftan as she posed for a series of poolside photos. The Britain's Got Talent judge, 54, is currently on a sun-soaked Greece getaway with her best pal and Italian Job co-host Alan Carr. Taking to her Instagram on Wednesday, the mum-of-two turned up the heat in a SKIMS tiger print kaftan, worth a whopping £242. She teamed it on top of a matching £200 swimsuit and added inches to her frame with a pair of black heels. The beauty caught the eye in the sexy outfit as she gave a glimpse of her sizzling figure while posing up a storm in front of a stunning ocean backdrop. Amanda rounded off the slew of racy snaps with a sweet photo of Alan, as they enjoyed a drink by the pool. Amanda Holden shared a very cheeky snap of herself flashing her bottom in a windswept kaftan as she posed for a series of poolside snaps on Instagram on Wednesday It comes just days after Amanda put on a leggy display as she showcased her incredible figure on a boat. The star could be seen soaking up the sun in a flattering teal bikini in a snap shared on Monday. Wearing her wet hair back, the star accessorised with a pair of large black sunglasses as she posed on the front railing of a boat. She captioned the picture: 'Wearing @isabellemeiraswim.' Fans of the radio presenter were quick to praise her bikini snap, with the swimwear designer praising: 'Looking incredible as ever. Hope you're having a fabulous trip!'; 'I hope this is one of your outfits on the next series of BGT.'; 'You look awesome in a bikini xx.' Amanda recently struck a similar pose in the orange wrap-around bikini, this time accessorising with a straw hat and sunglasses. She could be seen relaxing outside a villa and again lounging by an infinity pool and wrote 'soaking it all up'. Opening up about how she stays in shape to Cosmopolitan, Amanda said: 'I have to run for my rosé wine in the summer and run for my red wine in winter. 'And I don't do it because I feel I have to; I do it for my own discipline and dignity.' Amanda also credited running for helping to clear her head. However, despite being so slim, Amanda stressed that she does not diet. Instead, she credits her flat stomach to a specific kind of yoga. She told the Express: 'I love Kundalini yoga. I just think it's really good for breath control. 'It's really good for sort of getting out any stress or tension." 'It's sort of a powerful empowering yoga, it's not the sort of yoga that everybody enjoys or loves. 'But for me, I feel really powerful and centred after - all of that sounds really cheesy, but that's how I feel.'

Fire cooked food that's flavourful and unintimidating

Chef Yiannis Mexis's new Borough venture Pyro is a contemporary Greek restaurant that both defies and embraces neighbourhood taverna cliches. The food is hardly rustic simplicity or beholden to tradition, but it's rarely overly fiddly, and ultimately comes down to big flame-cooked flavours and robustly fresh ingredients. Pyro has heavy beachside vibes, which is very bold in Southwark but it carries it off in large part because of its surprisingly enormous outdoor area. There is a fully indoor restaurant bit which I completely failed to go into, but is presumably the main focus of Pyro during the colder months. But when I visited at the tail end of a mini heatwave there was no question of going inside – we went for the covered section of the vast terrace, which basically isn't afraid to look like a giant straw-roofed beach hut. That it doesn't fall over the precipice of novelty is due to the mostly excellent food. Seeking to bring the Aegean beach to the centre of London, you can drop a lot of money on seafood here: £85 for a whole 'flame kissed' lobster or £105 for a 1.5kg Cornish brill. But it's actually a fairly broad spectrum survey of Greek-influenced cuisine, and you don't have to spend big to get something nice. In fact the best thing we ate was quite possibly the £10 crudites platter. A world away from the sorry cucumber and carrot batons that blight every British childhood, this was a pristine plate of some of the freshest crunchiest vegetables I have ever had the pleasure to devour. From shimmering white radishes to chalky summer squash, everything was great, especially when dunked in a goopy/crunchy tarama and carob rusk dip. There's a very short 'grazing' menu – we had everything on it just to be clear we hadn't missed anything. A spanakopita pastel del nada was basically a fun tart-style presentation of a classic spanakopita; mussel saganaki (a small fried appetiser) was a light, spicy trifle; intense little pork souvlaki skewers got us thoroughly warmed up for some heartier mains 'from the fire'. The barbecued octopus had a lovely texture – the exact sweet spot between chewy and pliant – although the custardy, yellow split pea accompanying sauce was too rich and threatened to overwhelm. The soft but flavourful whole charred aubergine was much more like it, but the highlight was the side order of 'layered' potatoes. A sort of fantasy hybrid of classic roast potato and pommes anna, it consisted of layered cubes of spud, thinly crispy and lightly spiced on the outside, its inside softly concertina-ing at the press of a tongue on the inside. It was a taste sensation; it was a textural sensation – we ate them all and didn't really have room for any dessert afterwards (the dessert menu is small and while the blackcurrant and almond pie sounded nice it was £19 and apparently pretty huge). Instead I turned to the extremely fun cocktail list, the creation of London-based Ukrainian mixologist Ana Reznik. I went for the Aegeas: the mix of olive oil–infused dry gin with seaweed and extra dry vermouth was weird in a good way, three warm currents of boozy brine gently percolating around each other. Pyro is a good times eatery that serves high quality fire cooked food that's flavourful and unintimidating, influenced by the Med but not aiming to school you about the Med. If you're looking to wow a date with high concept dining it's probably not the place – but if you're looking for a relaxed summer night out, this is the one. The vibe A chilled out terrace taverna in Southwark. The drink A handful of Greek-hemed cocktails and plenty of Greek wine.
