All govt schools in T to get free tech-enabled coaching
The MoUs were signed between the department of education and the NGOs in the presence of chief minister A Revanth Reddy. Apart from EkStep Foundation and Physics Wallah the govt will collaborate with Sunitha Krishnan's Prajwala Foundation, Khan Academy, Shoaib Dar's Pi Jam Foundation and Safina Hussain's Educate Girls.
CM Revanth Reddy said the MoU aims to introduce technology-enabled teaching solutions, entirely free of cost.
"This initiative is part of the state govt's vision to enhance access to quality education for underprivileged students. By partnering with reputed organisations, we hope to bring about transformative change in education. We are laying the foundation for a knowledge-driven future," he said.
"These partnerships reflect our commitment to ensuring that no child is left behind in this digital age. The govt firmly believes that collaborating with India's leading educational organisations will bring about a revolutionary improvement in educational standards both within the state and across the country," he added.
Under the agreement, the EkStep Foundation will expand its AI-driven learning platform from 540 schools to more than 5,000 primary schools across all 33 districts. The platform offers multilingual foundational learning in Telugu, English and Mathematics for pupils in Classes 3 to 5.
Physics Wallah will provide free, high-quality coaching for competitive examinations including NEET, JEE, and CLAT to govt students at the Intermediate level, with an emphasis on early preparation during school years.
Khan Academy will deliver curriculum-aligned, video-based instruction in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) subjects for classes 6 to 10, enabling students to learn at their own pace.
The Prajwala Foundation will implement comprehensive child safety and protection programmes aimed at students from classes 6 to 12.
The Pi Jam Foundation will offer training in coding and computational thinking for students in classes 1 to 10, fostering digital literacy and problem-solving skills from an early age.
Educate Girls, which has already facilitated the enrolment of over 16,000 out-of-school children in Telangana, will continue to focus on improving literacy among girls.

Edited Excerpts: Meesho recently open-sourced the BharatMLStack on GitHub, becoming one of the first Indian e-commerce platforms to do so. What strategic vision underpins this move, and how do you see it shaping India's AI ecosystem, especially in Tier 2+ markets? The decision to build and eventually open-source BharatMLStack came from our need to develop a robust internal ML platform to support hundreds of diverse use cases at scale. We needed something cost-efficient, reliable, scalable, and extensible—and over time, our in-house stack evolved to serve 66.90 trillion of feature retrievals and real-time predictions. That's when we decided to open-source BharatMLStack—to help startups and larger companies leapfrog their AI journeys. It's especially useful for those building for Bharat, where scale and cost efficiency are critical. On that note, how is Meesho leveraging AI to power smarter, more intuitive shopping experiences for mobile-first, value-conscious users in Bharat? Can you share some use cases that show direct impact? Absolutely. For users from Tier 2+ towns, there are barriers to online shopping—language, ambiguity in search, and lack of digital familiarity. AI helps break these barriers. One major area is personalization—we use deep learning models across surfaces like homepage feeds and search to serve relevant products based on user behavior and intent. On the seller side, our AI helps ease cataloging through image recognition and enrichment, automates pricing insights, and improves product visibility—especially critical for first-time or non-tech-savvy sellers with razor-thin margins. Are there any unique challenges or breakthroughs your team has encountered while scaling these AI systems? Yes, several. One major challenge is interpreting long-tail, ambiguous search queries, often typed in Indian languages using English scripts or even voice. We've used LLMs to decode intent and improve search relevance. Another is balancing relevance with fairness—ensuring that newer sellers also get visibility despite algorithmic biases like the 'rich get richer' effect. Our ranking systems are designed to support platform fairness, long-term seller success, and ultimately, greater consumer choice and price competitiveness. With AI becoming more influential in consumer apps, how do you approach responsible AI, bias mitigation, and compliance, especially in light of India's evolving data privacy regulations? Data privacy is something we take very seriously—we're fully aligned with current and upcoming regulations. But beyond compliance, responsible AI is embedded into our philosophy. We constantly monitor for algorithmic bias, especially in recommendation systems, and work to counteract unintended patterns that could marginalize certain sellers. This isn't just good ethics—it's good business. A healthy, competitive seller base offers better prices and more variety, benefiting the platform and our users. Looking ahead, what are some areas of AI innovation you and your team are most excited about—LLMs, multimodal models, or deeper integrations in logistics, seller support, and beyond? There's so much happening, it's hard to choose! But yes, GenAI and LLMs are becoming central. We've implemented GenAI-powered customer support chatbots and are expanding that across user categories. In logistics, we've built an AI-first platform called Valmo, where everything from delivery planning to fraud detection is AI-powered. For instance, we created a Geo-India LLM to decode vague, rural delivery addresses—something no other off-the-shelf tool could do. It's a great example of multimodal intelligence tailored for India.

Congress Wanted To Usurp Rs 2,000 Crore Assets Of National Herald: ED Tells Delhi Court
The Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Wednesday told a Delhi court that the Congress party wanted to usurp around Rs 2,000 crore assets of the now-defunct National Herald newspaper. Additional Solicitor General (ASG) S.V. Raju, representing the ED, submitted before the Rouse Avenue Court that a conspiracy was hatched to form Young Indian Ltd -- in which Congress Parliamentary Party Chairperson Sonia Gandhi and Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi are majority stakeholders -- to acquire control over the newspaper's vast assets aimed at benefiting the party leadership personally. ASG Raju added that several senior Congress leaders were involved in "fake transactions' made to Associated Journals Limited (AJL), the original publisher of the National Herald. According to the ED, individuals were making fraudulent advance rent payments over several years at the direction of senior Congress functionaries with fabricated rent receipts. Special Judge (PC Act) Vishal Gogne is handling the alleged National Herald money laundering case on a day-to-day basis, hearing submissions on behalf of the Central agency and the proposed accused, including Sonia and Rahul Gandhi, Congress Overseas Chief Sam Pitroda, and Suman Dubey. In an earlier hearing, ASG Raju had claimed that the Gandhis have enjoyed Rs 142 crore of 'proceeds of crime' and continued to derive benefits from it until the ED attached National Herald assets. As per the ED, the accused committed money laundering not only when they acquired the 'proceeds of crime" but also when they continued to hold it. Before this, the Rouse Avenue Courts had asked the Gandhis and others accused to show cause as to why cognisance should not be taken on ED's prosecution complaint filed against them under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA). The charge sheet claimed that the Congress leadership had misappropriated property belonging to the AJL by converting public trusts into personal assets. The National Herald, a newspaper established by Jawaharlal Nehru and other prominent leaders in 1938, was originally aimed at representing the liberal voice within the Congress. Published by AJL, the National Herald was a critical tool for Congress during the freedom struggle and post-independence years. Alongside the English publication, the AJL also published newspapers in Hindi and Urdu. However, the paper ceased operations in 2008 due to mounting debts exceeding Rs 90 crore. The controversy over its assets came into focus in 2012 when BJP leader Subramanian Swamy filed a complaint in a trial court, alleging that Congress leaders had engaged in cheating and breach of trust in the process of acquiring AJL. In the course of the investigation, the ED found that the accused, including Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi, used Young Indian to acquire AJL's assets at a nominal price of Rs 50 lakh. The probe agency claimed that Young Indian, beneficially owned by the Gandhis, effectively took control of AJL's properties while undervaluing their market worth. In November 2023, the ED attached immovable properties valued at Rs 661 crore and AJL shares worth Rs 90.2 crore, terming them suspected proceeds of crime.
