NoMeansNo Presents India's Largest Platform on PoSH Compliance, Workplace Safety, and Inclusion - The 3rd National PoSH Conclave & Excellence Awards 2025
New Delhi [India], July 15: NoMeansNo, an initiative by the Centre for Skill Development & Training dedicated to achieving Total PoSH Compliance, proudly hosted the 3rd National PoSH Conclave & Excellence Awards 2025 at The Lalit, New Delhi.
Presented in association with Nestle India, Steelcase, UCO Bank, Trilegal, Attero, Ferns N Petals (FNP), BIG FM, Yugank Media, and FITS (Federation of Industry, Trade & Service), the event brought together an unprecedented gathering of dignitaries, policymakers, legal experts, corporate leaders, HR heads, IC members, and DEI champions. It reaffirmed its status as India's largest platform for dialogue on workplace safety, inclusion, and Prevention of Sexual Harassment (PoSH) compliance.
The event also featured the release of a landmark book authored by Vishal Bhasin, titled Objection Sustained, offering a comprehensive guide to top PoSH judgments and practical advice for IC members and HR leaders.

HC judges address gender sensitisation in awareness programme
Trichy: The Trichy district judiciary conducted an awareness programme on gender sensitisation and the elimination of violence against women. Judges from the Madras high court participated in the event and addressed topics such as gender discrimination and gender violence. Justice R N Manjula spoke on gender discrimination based on social and cultural constructs. She also highlighted the consequences of discrimination. Advocate U Nirmala Rani, president of Legal Aid Centre for Women, spoke about gender based violence and secondary victimisation. Sexual harassment at workplaces often takes suble forms, says Justice Anitha Sumanth
Sexual harassment often takes subtle forms and may not always be immediately recognisable, said Justice Anitha Sumanth, Judge, High Court of Madras, here on Saturday, stressing the importance of gender sensitisation at workplaces. 'There are times when we may not be able to identify a particular act as harassment but we do know that it makes us uncomfortable,' she said. She was addressing an awareness programme on 'Gender Sensitisation and Elimination of Violence Against Women' organised by the Tiruchi District Judiciary. The programme was inaugurated by Principal District Judge M. Christopher and saw the participation of District Collector V. Saravanan, Commissioner of Police N. Kamini, and Superintendent of Police S. Selvanagarathinam. Ms. Anitha said while legal provisions exist to address workplace harassment, implementation, and awareness continued to be major challenges. The need for gender sensitisation not only in workplaces but also within families and educational institutions. 'Often, even men may not be aware that their behaviour is making someone [colleagues] uncomfortable. That is why it is essential to open channels of communication — in our offices, homes, and in conversations with children. That is how gender sensitisation begins,' she said. Fairness and respect R.N. Manjula, Judge of the High Court of Madras, highlighted the importance of building relationships grounded in both fairness and respect. 'If there is fairness without respect, it serves no purpose. If there is respect without fairness, it is not genuine respect at all,' she said. She called for a transformation in societal mindset, driven by collective efforts to dismantle stereotypes. 'We must ask ourselves hard questions — do we, in our desire for acceptance, allow gender biases to influence our decisions? Do we unconsciously conform to stereotypes?' she said. P. Vadamalai, Judge, High Court of Madras, said that ensuring the safety of women was a shared social responsibility. A handbook on the 'Protection of Women from Sexual Harassment (POSH) Act', detailing legal mechanisms and procedures for addressing workplace harassment, was released during the event. The event saw participation from government officials, NGOs, women's organisations, and students from various colleges across Tiruchi.

Naranpura woman loses Rs 15L to ‘digital arrest' scam
Ahmedabad: A 53-year-old woman from Naranpura area in the city was duped of Rs 15 lakh by a man posing as a Mumbai police officer in an 'digital arrest' scam. The woman was at home with her elderly mother-in-law on June 30 when she received a phone call that triggered the scam. For the nexe The caller identified himself as a police officer from Andheri police station in Mumbai, Maharashtra, and claimed that a bank account had been fraudulently opened in her name in Navi Mumbai using her Aadhaar number. He alleged that the account was being used for illegal activities, including money laundering. Shocked and confused, the woman followed the caller's instructions, stayed on a WhatsApp video call continuously, and was told not to speak to anyone. The fraudster sought her personal and bank account details, claiming her accounts needed to be verified. Over the next three days, the woman and her daughter visited multiple banks and transferred Rs 15 lakh in instalments into accounts shared by the caller. The caller warned her that her husband, who works in Qatar, could also face trouble if she failed to cooperate. The scam came to light when her son-in-law visited and noticed she was still on a call with the supposed police officer. He immediately disconnected the call and reported the incident to the cybercrime helpline 1930. A formal complaint was later filed at the local police station. Authorities are working to trace the phone number and bank accounts involved in the fraud.
