Despite planning for a bigger move in 2026, Pat Riley might find a James reunion too tempting to ignore if the four-time champion expresses interest.
Of course, a return wouldn't come without baggage. LeBron James's 2014 departure from Miami strained his relationship with Riley, who publicly criticized the move. But time heals all wounds. The chance to chase another title together might overshadow the past.
For now, it's just speculation. But the season is inching closer, and pressure is mounting in Los Angeles. This once-outlandish idea is beginning to look more plausible. If James wants one last title run, and the Lakers can't provide it, don't count out Miami.

Lynx acquire DiJonai Carrington from Wings for Diamond Miller, Karlie Samuelson, second-round pick
The Minnesota Lynx acquired guard DiJonai Carrington from the Dallas Wings, the teams announced on Sunday. Going to Dallas in exchange are forward Diamond Miller, guard Karlie Samuelson and the Lynx's 2027 second-round draft pick. The five-year veteran was named to the All-Defensive first team last season, in addition to winning the league's Most Improved Player award. This season with the Wings, Carrington averaged 10.4 points, 5.1 rebounds and 1.1 steals in 20 games. She was Dallas' third-leading scorer behind Paige Bueckers and Arike Ogunbowale. If she maintains that production, Carrington will be Minnesota's fourth-leading scorer and rebounder. Carrington, 27, was in her first season with Dallas after playing four years with the Connecticut Sun, who drafted her in the second round of the 2021 WNBA Draft. Last year, she averaged 12.7 points and five rebounds per game on her way to winning Most Improved Player honors while the Sun finished with the WNBA's second-best record at 28-12 before losing the Lynx in the playoff semifinals. Patriots draft bust makes highlight reel catch at Chiefs practice
Former New England Patriots wide receiver Tyquan Thornton is making an impact in training camp for the Kansas City Chiefs.
