But a peak of only 1.5m tuned in to watch the show's launch last week and then it scraped 1m on Monday.
Instead of July 14th's launch, more viewers - ironically - watched a rerun of Death In Paradise from series 11, which first aired in 2021.
The BBC's repeat of Ralf Little 's gentle crime drama drew in 1.8m during the same 9pm to 10pm time slot.
And BBC2' s stroll through the evolution of man, Human, attracted 1.6m.
Shark! fared no better this week either, when double - 2m - tuned in to BBC1's Fake or Fortune? antiques show.
Both weeks, the most watched show of the evening was Coronation Street, with 3.3m and 3m watching respectively.
It comes after David Tennant 's gameshow The Genius Game was branded an " expensive flop" after the £2.5m series drew an average audience of 661,000 by the end.
In the five-part show, seven brave celebrities spent several weeks taking to dangerous waters in an effort to overcome their fears and also deliver an ecological message.
The line-up also included comedians Ross Noble and Lucy Punch as well as McFly star Dougie Poynter and athlete Ade Adepitan.
In the early episodes viewers have watched Helen battle with her fear of the sea after a childhood incident at an aqua park left her scared of even entering the water.

The actress, who plays Trixie in Call The Midwife, found even being lowered into the depths in a cage too much and begged to be released.
Mum-of-two Helen, 41, said: 'I was terrified of putting my head underwater.
'I have a real deep-rooted fear.
'My kids know that I am scared of the water, and my seven-year-old is more confident in the water than I am, and I realised I've got to do something about that as it's not safe.'
ITV say after seven days the first episode has now been watched by 2.8m viewers and the series has been popular with 25-54 year olds.

HE garnered overnight fame back in 2001 after being launched on ITV's reality show Popstars before having huge success in the band Hear'Say, but it wasn't all glitz and glamour behind the scenes. Noel Sullivan, 44, was chosen to be a part of the band alongside Myleene Klass, Kym Marsh, Suzanne Shaw and Danny Foster and despite their debut album going to number one, the group had short-lived fame after parting ways just two years later. 4 The singer has now opened up about his experience in the band and said the experience damaged him because he wasn't allowed to discuss his sexuality. He told Heat magazine: 'It was really mad. It was lifetime ago. I can look back at it with fond memories now, but it took while to sort through the damage. But I'm here and I survived. 'I was 19, 20 years old at the time, so at an age when I should be exploring who I am. 'To be boxed back up and chucked back in the closet was a damaging experience for me, it took a lot of time to find some resolution to that and not feel guilty or shameful because of it.' Noel is now happily married to his husband James after coming out in 2017 and regularly shares pictures of the pair together on social media. This isn't the first time Noel has opened up about his sexuality being a point of contention when he was in the band. In 2017, he took to Instagram to share a picture of himself on his birthday and took the opportunity to get some things off of his chest. He penned: 'As a 19 year old, I was told to shut up about my sexuality. If I wanted a career, I had to be something else. Silent. It ruined me. 'No one was held accountable for the years of depression and self abuse that followed. It got to the point where I felt like I couldn't speak out anymore because my time in the spotlight had passed and I assumed no one would care. 'It was a turbulent time but I took solace in my family and in theatre. Without the crazy, beautiful, supportive and talented people I worked with, lived with and performed for, I could never have found myself. 'After years of self doubt I finally feel free to say what I need to. Free to let go of the past, free to love myself. But most importantly, free to love. Thank you.' Hear'Say released two albums in their short-lived career, with their debut album Popstars charting at number one in the UK, Scotland and New Zealand. They followed this up with their second outing, in the form of Everybody, which released just nine months after their first, but it failed to have the same momentum, charting at number 24 in the UK. The band had four top ten singles, with hits Pure and Simple and The Way To Your Love bagging the top honours. After the band members went their own separate ways, Noel opted for a quieter life but didn't give up on the entertainment industry all together. He has appeared in several musical theatre productions, including Fame, Love Shack, What A Feeling and acted as Danny Zuko in Grease. Noel has also shown off his acting chops on the small screen, with appearances in Gavin & Stacey, BBC Drama Ordinary Lies, Doctors and the Call The Midwife Christmas special in 2021. Where are Hear'Say now? Danny Foster Danny, 45, stepped out of the spotlight after Hear'Say split. He is married to Victoria Goddard, who he has been with for nearly two decades. Jo Wood has revealed she wanted to prove she wasn't a victim after 'letting herself go' following her split from Ronnie Wood. The 70-year-old was married to Rolling Stones rocker Ronnie, 78, for 24 years between 1985-2011. In a new interview with The Times, Jo opened up on the heartbreak and how she picked herself back up. She explained: 'After Ronnie I found it's important to say to myself, "I'm not a victim, I can still enjoy a good life."' She added: 'When I was really brokenhearted I totally let myself go. I didn't shave my legs, I didn't shave anything. I was just miserable.' Jo recently bumped into Ronnie in a Barbados hotel. He was with his wife Sally, 47, and their twin daughters. When asked about the run-in, Jo laughed and said: 'Like my Mum used to say about my Dad, seeing him was like putting on a comfy pair of old slippers. 'The editor of my novel wanted more anger but I refused. The story is not about Ronnie but I do want to send out that message: you have to forgive. It sets you free. I didn't want to be bitter and angry. You realise that chapter of your life is over and the universe has something else for you. I forgave Ronnie years ago.'' She previously told the Daily Mail's Richard Eden: 'I'd only been there a day and I walked into the hotel restaurant and there was Ronnie with his wife and kids. 'You should have seen his face when he saw me.' Ronnie is now married to theatre producer Sally, 31 years his junior, with whom he has twin daughters. Jo added: 'I'm no stalker.' Jo and Ronnie share children Leah, 46, and Tyrone. She also became stepmother to Ronnie's son Jesse, 48, from his first marriage. Jo previously shared the secret to her close relationship with her ex-husband Ronnie, whom she has remained on good terms with since their 2009 divorce. In recent years, Jo has ditched the rock-and-roll lifestyle from her marriage to Ronnie for an eco-friendly countryside cottage. Aside from WiFi, Jo said she more or less lives self-sufficiently and has traded in her days of drinking and joints for homegrown veg and is even creating a capsule supplement called Longevity to boost her health. Speaking to The Telegraph, Jo admitted that she didn't have an addictive personality which made it easier for her to walk away from the party lifestyle after it suddenly dawned on her one day that way of living wasn't what she wanted. Jo recently revealed the hilarious nickname given to her by her grandchildren as she admitted they know all about her wild drug-taking rock and roll past. The former wife of The Rolling Stones guitarist Ronnie Wood was known for embracing the party lifestyle in her younger days. And the star admitted her grandchildren are now calling her 'Gangsta Granny' after she revealed some of her past antics to them. Speaking on Good Housekeeping UK's podcast My Life in A Biscuit Tin , Jo said: 'I know I shouldn't say this, but I was in the car with them and they were giggling, two of them [grandchildren, Maggie and Kobe]. 'They went, "Gran, have you done any drugs?" I said, "Of course I have, but I don't recommend it". 'I said, "Because it didn't get me anywhere except lots of sleepless nights". Explaining how she believes it is important to be honest with your family she added: 'You can't be dishonest, because they'll find out. 'So, I tried to warn them it was a waste of time, but I was in a very special situation. So then they said, "We're going to call you Gangster Gran from now on."' She has 10 grandchildren in total, four from Jamie, two from Leah and four from Jesse.

Chepstow's Upcycle centre gets Caribbean makeover
The Upcycle team invite you to a lively evening of music, food, and community celebration, starting at 6pm. Entry is free and everyone is welcome. The event takes place at the bottom of town, near the rail station. With a Caribbean flair setting the scene, Upcycle is thrilled to welcome back Tom Cocktails, serving freshly made-to-order drinks with a tropical twist. The licensed bar will be open, offering wines, prosecco, beers, ciders, and spirits to enjoy while relaxing outdoors. Live music comes courtesy of Palm Tree Antics, a vibrant band bringing island-inspired rhythm to Chepstow. The courtyard will be buzzing with flavours, as food vendors serve up an array of sweet and spicy delights. Spice Up the Valleys, led by chef Michael Hamilton, returns with his crowd-pleasing Caribbean street food, including rich curry goat and authentic jerk chicken. Chateau Bonbon will offer sweets and treats, and Hope's Home Bakes tempts you with homemade cakes. Families are welcome, with a shaded children's play area available, and dogs are invited too. The main Upcycle unit will be open for browsing and purchases during the event. Suzie Williams, Upcycle's promo boss, said: 'It'll be a great night, don't miss it. Special thanks to all the volunteers and performers who make it happen.' She especially extended her thanks to Michael Hamilton for sharing his culinary talents with Chepstow and the Upcycle team. 'His passion shines through in every bite,' she added.
