17 wanted suspects arrested after 2nd warrant round-up
EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) – A total of 17 individuals with outstanding criminal warrants were arrested during the second operation under the Joint Warrant Initiative on Wednesday, June 4, the El Paso County Sheriff's Office (EPCSO) said in a news release.

The following individuals were arrested during the warrant round-up, according to EPCSO:
EPCSO said this latest operation was carried out in partnership with the offices of Constable Frank Almada, Precinct 1; Constable Hector Bernal, Precinct 3; Constable Javier Garcia, Precinct 6; and Constable Angie Summers, Precinct 7.
'Our priority is holding individuals with outstanding warrants accountable,' Sheriff Oscar Ugarte said. 'I'm grateful for the continued dedication of the team at the Sheriff's Office, and I appreciate the Constables who joined us in making this second operation a success.'
EPCSO said the Joint Warrant Initiative was launched last month as a coordinated approach to reduce the number of outstanding criminal warrants across El Paso County.
The first operation resulted in 21 arrests, and Sheriff Ugarte said that these efforts will continue in the weeks and months ahead.

El Paso man allegedly robs Subway disguised as woman, wearing pink dress, high heels
An El Paso man was arrested after allegedly robbing a Subway restaurant wearing a pink dress, high heels, and a dark wig, authorities said. Deputies responded about 7:25 p.m. Sunday, June 22, to a report of an armed robbery at a Subway restaurant located in the 12500 block of Pellicano Drive in the Far Eastside, El Paso County Sheriff's Office spokesperson Priscilla Contreras wrote in a news release. Employees told deputies a man entered the restaurant wearing a pink dress, high heels, a dark wig and sunglasses. The man concealed one arm under a brown paper bag and handed the employees a note that read, 'Money in the bag,' the news release states. The man was "pointing the bag in a threatening manner to suggest he was armed," the news release states. He fled with about $50 to $60 in cash. He was last seen leaving in a white Nissan Frontier pickup truck. The truck was later connected to two additional robberies in the area, the news release states. No information was released on the two other robberies. Reyes was arrested in connection with two counts of aggravated robbery and one count of robbery. He was booked into the El Paso County Jail on Tuesday, June 24, on a bond totaling $130,000. He remains jailed as of Friday, June 27, jail logs show. No further information was released as the case remains under active investigation. 1 person arrested after allegedly firing pellet gun at park in La Union, New Mexico
EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — A male suspect was arrested after he allegedly fired off a pellet gun and then resisted arrest during a movie at the park event Saturday night, June 21 in La Union, New Mexico, Doña Ana County Sheriff Kim Stewart said. The incident happened at about 10 a.m. on Saturday at a park on Mercantil Avenue in La Union. People who had been attending a movies at the park event called to report a person walking around with a gun. There were also reports that the person had fired rounds, Stewart said. DASO and Anthony Police units responded. The subject was located and identified as Isaiah Gomez, no age given. He admitted to firing a pellet gun, which was recovered, Stewart said. No one was injured in the incident. The suspect was arrested and is facing a charge of aggravated assault when he allegedly and repeatedly kicked a deputy, Stewart said. Hiker with plans to explore CO peak vanishes, deputies say. Now, a body is found
A body matching the description of a missing New Hampshire man was found by a hiker near the summit of a Colorado mountain, sheriff's deputies said. The body is believed to belong to Russell Hardy, 55, who was reported missing June 13 after coming to Colorado Springs 'with plans to hike and explore Pikes Peak,' the El Paso County Sheriff's Office said in a June 17 post on Facebook. Identificationof the body will be confirmed by the county coroner's office, deputies said. The coroner's office also will determine a cause of death, according to deputies, who said foul play isn't suspected and instead 'this appears to be a tragic outcome of a man confronting the challenges of nature.' Hardy got to Colorado Springs on June 10 and was supposed to be back home within a couple of days, deputies said. A post made to social media put him by Crags Trailhead on June 11, according to deputies, who said his rental car was found at a trailhead. Rescuers searched for him, including using K9s and drones, deputies said. The hiker found his likely remains about noon June 16 near the Pikes Peak summit, according to deputies. On a GoFundMe page, Hardy's family said climbing the mountain 'was one of his lifelong dreams.' He reached the top and died after a fall heading down amid bad weather, his family said on the page, noting that they're taking some comfort knowing he achieved his goal 'and passed doing something he truly loved.' Pikes Peak, which stands at more than 14,000 feet tall, is west of Colorado Springs.
