Interviewee in Oscar-winning No Other Land documentary is 'shot in the chest by Israeli settler'
Odeh Hadalin, a prominent activist who featured in 'No Other Land', has reportedly been shot by an Israeli settler, who is under sanctions by both the EU and the US.
In a video shared on social media the Israeli can be seen wildly brandishing a gun and shooting it into the air.
Yuval Abraham, the co-director of the film, reported Alhadlin's death on X, claiming he had been 'murdered'.
It comes after the other co-director of the same documentary, Hamdan Ballal, was also reported attacked by Israeli settlers on the West Bank before being detained by the military.
An anti-Zionist Jewish activist group said dozens of Israeli settlers attacked the Palestinian village of Susiya in the Masafer Yatta area, south of Hebron.
Members of the Center for Jewish Nonviolence said a rampaging mob descended upon the village, throwing stones, smashing windows, slashing car tyres and destroying a war tank in the village.

The settlers beat the director, leaving him bleeding from the head, and threw punches at activists. While Ballal was being treated in an ambulance, soldiers from the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) detained him and a second Palestinian man, the group added.
Joseph, one of the five activists who witnessed the brutal attack, said the filmmaker was surrounded by a group of around 15 armed settlers.
'They started throwing stones towards Palestinians and destroyed a water tank near Hamdan's house,' he told The Guardian.
Another activist Raviv, told the same publication: 'The settlers destroyed his car with stones and slashed one of the tyres.'
Video provided by the Center for Jewish Nonviolence showed a masked settler shoving and swinging his fists at two activists from the group in a dusty field at night.
The activists rush back to their car. 'Get in, get in!' one shouts, and they duck inside as the thuds of rocks being thrown can be heard. 'Car window was broken,' the driver says as they drive off.
In another video, posted by Israeli investigative journalist and filmmaker Yuval Abraham, one of the co-directors of No Other Land, masked men reported to be settlers are seen sprinting towards a car before hurling a rock through its window.
Chase Carter, the development and communications director for the Center for Jewish Nonviolence, said: 'Tonight, the Oscar-winning Director of No Other Land Hamdan Ballal was attacked by Israeli settlers and arrested by the Israeli army in his home village of Susiya in Masafer Yatta.
'The group of assailants arrived at approximately 6PM with batons, knives, and at least one assault rifle; many were also masked.
'Five Jewish American activists responded to the scene to document the attack and they were violently assaulted by the settlers, who also used rocks to smash their car with the activists inside.'
No Other Land, which won the Oscar this year for best documentary, chronicles the struggle by residents of Masafer Yatta to stop the Israeli military from demolishing their villages and the alliance which develops between the Palestinian activist Basel and Israeli journalist Yuval.
The film has two Palestinian co-directors, Ballal and Basel Adra, both residents of Masafar Yatta, and two Israeli directors, Yuval Abraham and Rachel Szor.
The documentary won a string of international awards, starting at the Berlin International Film Festival in 2024.
However viewings have drawn ire in Israel and abroad, with the mayor of Miami Beach in Florida briefly proposing to ending the lease and withdrawal all funding to a movie theatre that screened the documentary.
The Israeli military designated the village of Masafer Yatta as a live-fire training zone in the 1980s and ordered residents, mostly Arab Bedouin, to be expelled.
However, around 1,000 residents have largely remained in place, but soldiers regularly move in to demolish homes, tents, water tanks and olive orchards - and Palestinians fear outright expulsion could come at any time.
While the West Bank is the larger of the two Palestinian territories, Israel captured the area in the 1967 Six-Day War, along with the Gaza Strip and east Jerusalem, and has occupied it ever since.

Lupo was jailed for eight months after being found guilty of criminal damage; inflicting grievous bodily harm; and the possession of a bladed article in public following a four-day trial at Liverpool Crown Court. Following the conclusion of the case, Detective Constable Stephan Wolstenholme said: 'Even in the light of Constantin Lupo maintaining his innocence and forcing the victim to relive the incident in court all over again, I do hope [the] result offers some reassurance to the victim involved in this unjustified and violent ordeal. 'This could have been a potentially life-threatening situation for the member of staff who had, rightfully, challenged Lupo, who could not handle the result of his afternoon of gambling and caused a substantial amount of damage to several machines he had been using. 'The victim was simply doing all they could to stop Lupo's rampage and did not deserve to be violently attacked. Dystopian moment prosecutor is murdered after his Cadillac Escalade was blown up at intersection in broad daylight
Terrifying video footage shows the moment a prosecutor was ambushed and killed in the Mexican border city of Reynosa on Monday. Ernesto Vázquez was driving his black Cadillac Escalade when a gang of assassins launched their attack on him on Hidalgo Boulevard, brazenly tossing a grenade at the back of the vehicle during afternoon rush hour . While clearly in agonizing pain, Vázquez was able to get out of the vehicle on his own and crawled across the pavement. The assailants then pulled up in a white Ford Explorer and opened fire on the defenseless official. Additional video footage showed prosecutor's body on the ground as stunned motorists rode past the scene of the attack. Moments later, a bystander was seen dragging Vázquez away from the blown-up vehicle, which was engulfed in flames. Vázquez was a prosecutor who joined the Federal Attorney General's Office in 2019 and was its senior representative at the Tamaulipas State Attorney General's Office. The assault took place just four miles from the entrance of the Reynosa-Hidalgo International Bridge that links Reynosa with Hidalgo, Texas and about one mile from the Tamaulipas State Attorney General's Office headquarters. Authorities recovered the Ford Explorer around 10pm just blocks away from the attack. Tamaulipas Governor Américo Villarreal denounced the deadly assault in a statement on X. 'From the Government of Tamaulipas, we condemn the murder of the Attorney General's Office Delegate in the state,' Villarreal wrote. 'We stand in solidarity with his family and reiterate our full willingness to assist the Attorney General's Office and the Government of Mexico in the pursuit of justice and the construction of peace.' The Reynosa Chamber of Commerce president, Gildardo López, told El Norte newspaper that Vázquez's murder could negatively impact trade with the United States. 'Our city will fall into a binational trade crisis again,' he warned. 'Our city will be commercially paralyzed for a potentially long period,' he said. Horrifying moment thug smashes car into peacemaker who was trying to break up fight and leaves him traumatic brain injury - just hours being released from prison
This is the horrifying moment a thug smashed in to a peacemaker who was trying to break up a fight, leaving him with a traumatic brain injury. Hugh Raymond Holmes, 35, got into a fight in Ferryhill, County Durham, which involved several men and women on the day he left jail for a separate offence. Following a large altercation involving several people, a local waded in to the argument and attempted to break up the brawl that had already injured several people. The 35-year-old appeared to cool off but then made his way to a car, got behind the wheel and drove in to the innocent neighbour, smashing him in to a parked van. The crash left the peacemaker with traumatic brain injuries and multiple fractured and broken bones. CCTV released by Durham Constabulary shows the shocking moment the local intervened and was brutally attacked in return. Footage shows a fight breaking out between two groups of men and women after one woman mistook another for pulling a face at her in the car as she drove by. The two groups set upon each other with Holmes being initially punched and hitting the floor before being repeatedly kicked. As the two groups of people continue to punch and kick each other, shouting in the residential street, a neighbour comes over and intervenes. He pulls some of those fighting off each other and stops one man from punching Holmes again. According to police the man did not 'hit anyone, he doesn't kick anyone, he doesn't punch anyone. All he does is get in the middle and split everybody up.' The police added that the 'concerned citizen' does not become 'aggressive or violent' at any point. Following the break-up of the fight, Holmes walks over to a parked black car and climbs in before speeding off up the street, turning around and speeding back down again. At high speed Holmes crashed the vehicle straight in to the back of a silver van, crushing the neighbour as one of the others involved in the fight jumps out of the way. Those around scream: 'Watch the car' before Holmes crashes, and continue to scream and shout in shock before rushing to the injured neighbour. Holmes was seen climbing out of the car, casting a quick glance over the scene before walking off in the opposite direction, leaving the neighbour lying on the road. The man suffered a traumatic brain injury, multiple facial fractures and a broken leg requiring surgical screws. He spent months in hospital and is still undergoing treatment. Body worn footage from the scene shows Holmes tell a police officer: 'I wish I was back in jail.' The police officer asks when he was last inside and he replies: 'This morning.' Holmes was arrested and charged with assault causing grievous bodily harm with intent, inflicting grievous bodily harm without intent, disqualified driving, driving with no insurance and refusing to provide a specimen of breath for analysis. Holmes, of Spennymoor, Durham, admitted all charges except causing grievous bodily which he was found guilty of by a jury at Durham Crown Court after 20 minutes of deliberations. He has now been jailed for 18 years and banned from driving for 15 years. The brute had previously been serving a 32 month sentence after crashing a stolen car he had been driving on a bridge of the A1(M) in Durham which left his female passenger seriously hurt. DC Lauren Howe, who led the investigation, said: 'Holmes is a despicable criminal who clearly hadn't learnt any lessons from his previous crime which he had just been released from prison for. 'He left the victim with critical injuries just before Christmas and they continue to have a huge impact on him and his family. 'However, thanks to the bravery of the victim and the whole community pulling together, we were able to gather overwhelming evidence to charge Holmes and put him back before the court. 'We hope putting Holmes back behind bars for a significant amount of time will bring some comfort to the victim who, in his own words, continues to stand tall.'
