Bridgerton star urges Brits to break from routine for good reason
Recent findings revealed that British adults are stuck in a rut, especially when it comes to food, fashion, and holidays. A survey of 8,000 adults from across Europe showed a third of people feel compelled to conform to popular trends. Four in ten believe their peers and the people they follow on social media are also pressured to follow trends, whether that's regarding travel or other lifestyle choices.
In an era where platforms like X, Instagram, and TikTok shape our choices, over half confess to being swayed by social media buzz when making personal decisions, impacting everything from fashion choices to what they drink.
Cultivating the call for spontaneity, MARTINI has brought in Jonathan Bailey, known for his role on Bridgerton, to encourage the public to be more spontaneous.
The Laurence Olivier Award winner said: "Going off script is the ultimate way to allow space for fun, and new experiences. Unplanned moments end up being the most unforgettable."
The majority of people wish they didn't feel the need to follow trends and could 'go off script, claiming being intentionally spontaneous is a positive trait.
Two thirds of people reckon that making personal choices which deviate from the norm is a crucial form of self-expression. As such a third fancy doing something unique, having a laugh or being more playful, and steering clear of monotony in their lives.
Most also believe that not following trends helps them feel more in control of their lives as they're deciding what to do rather than being influenced by others.
Other top reasons for shunning trends include curiosity, a yearning for new experiences, and to discover something new about themselves.
According to the research, those in the UK and Spain felt that their daily choices have become more predictable than any other country. While folks from Poland felt the pressure to conform more than any others surveyed.
Jonathan Bailey, who is also this summer's 'MARTINI Man', chimed in: "This summer, I invite everyone to take a breath, dive in, swerve off-piste and be playful.
'Live a little differently.'

The pair didn't find love in the ITV2 villa, but enjoyed a night out on the outside - with some familiar faces. Malisha, 24, shared an Instagram story of herself and Remell, 24, from a night out. With music playing in the background, the pair sat together and smiled while dancing along. Fellow dumped Islanders including Blu Chegini, Shea Mannings and Caprice Alexandra joined them for the get together. Malisha was one of a trio of bombshell girls who entered the villa, alongside Emily Moran and Yasmin Pettet. During her time on the show, Malisha clashed with fellow villa girl Meg Moore. Namely, over co-star Dejon Noel-Williams - who is coupled up with Meg. After a recoupling, Malisha and Toni Laites were left vulnerable and at risk of being dumped. Both went on a date with new arrival Harrison Solomon - with only one returning to the villa with him. Harrison opted for US star Toni, meaning that Malisha was therefore dumped. Love Island star dumped by bombshell Harrison in cruel twist She said following her exit: "I don't regret anything, I did what I needed to do as a bombshell. "Sometimes the reactions were a bit uncalled for. "I did go into the first chat with an open mind and I said I don't want to have any arguments. "Then it just got heated. I'm not here for the drama… a lot of it was miscommunication. "Dejon was telling her one thing and telling me another. It was a mix up that wasn't necessary. They act like they're not closed, but they are closed off." As for Remell, he and Shea, 25, arrived together as bombshells on Day 3. He coupled up with Alima Gagigo - only to later be axed in a brutal double dumping. Taking to Instagram afterwards, Remell wrote: "And just like that… I'm officially out of the love island villa. What a mad, unforgettable ride. "First off, thank you to every single one of you who's supported me—whether you were backing me to find love, keeping up with the show, or just curious from what you've seen online—I'm genuinely grateful." "My journey might've been shorter than expected, but I walked in as me and walked out as me. No regrets," he continued. "I got to meet some incredible people, make real bonds and live out something most only dream about. "Seeing my name in headlines has been surreal to say the least—but trust, this is just the beginning." "I'm walking out with my head high and my heart full. Can't wait to show you lot what's next 🤞" he concluded, before signing off: "Big love always". Love Island airs on ITV2 and ITVX.

Love Island hunk sparks concern as fans convinced he's suffered painful injury – did you see it?
Click to share on X/Twitter (Opens in new window) Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) LOVE Island fans are convinced Conor may have suffered a painful injury before the show after spotting a clue on the show. The rugby player, 25, recently sparked concern after he showed off his pearly white gnashers while in the villa. One viewer wrote: "Not to be rude in the dental situation?" along with a picture of Conor and his missing tooth. But many fans took to reddit to explain that the missing tooth was likely a result of him playing rugby. This person shared: "Dental implants are very expensive and the process is long. He might not mind missing a side tooth which is fine! Genetic condition or a rugby injury perhaps? It's really not a big deal or anyone's place to judge." A second said: "He's played full contact rugby for years, I assume that was the cause. From following other players, they won't get a permanent fix until they retire from rugby because the chance is high it will just get damaged again." "Conor's teeth actually give his face character, they suit him. They are clean and look nice. Also he's a rugby player they tend to lose teeth it's high contact," a third commented. Another added: "He's a rugby player. There is literally no point getting your teeth done before you retire. My husband was missing his front tooth from rugby when I met him…I sorted that straight out ha!" While several other people defended the star's natural teeth. This viewer said: "It costs a fortune to get dental implants for regular people. He's attractive in any case. Better than the Turkey teeth." "I'd rather have real teeth like this than those piano keys the rest of them have got in their mouths," someone else fumed. Love Island star sparks fears she'll quit the show after tense bust-up saying 'she's going to walk' This person posted: "Teeth are unique to people? You're being rude. We don't all have turkey teeth! He probably lost it with rugby or whatever but yeah.. his teeth are unique to him." Conor's time in the villa hasn't been completely plain sailing after love interest Megan was dumped from the villa during a shock public vote. Since then, actress Megan has revealed that Conor slid into her DMs in the past. She told heatworld in an interview: "It's so funny, right? So on day one, Conor told me that he followed me on Instagram four years ago, and I never followed him back. "But then since coming out, I've seen that he follows me on TikTok and he's actually commented on one of my TikToks. "Again, I've not followed him back or even realised he had commented on one." She laughed: "So, yeah, it's nice that he's still trying four years later. "It's worked out for him now, I suppose." Eagle-eyed fans went wild over the theory that Megan and Conor knew each other before entering the villa - after photos seemingly showed them at the same nightclub. Old snaps show Megan with a pal in a night club, while another picture supposedly clocks Conor in the same club long before they entered the ITV2 dating show. The speculation comes after Megan was voted the least favourite girl by the public after an ugly split from Tommy. The Irish star was booted out the villa after finding herself in the bottom three girls, along with Shakira, Megan and Toni. The brunette bombshell's departure followed days of drama after she cracked on with Conor while in a couple with Tommy.

Flight attendant reveals plane passengers' most 'disgusting' habit - and says men are the main culprits
A flight attendant has revealed the 'disgusting' hygiene habit passengers skip before boarding. Dallas-based air hostess Cher Killough, who has worked in the industry for five years, recently took to TikTok to call out bad in-flight etiquette - and took aim at people who don't shower before early flights in particular. Branding this behavior as 'unacceptable' in her TikTok, Cher revealed she thinks travelers should 'go to prison' for not showering before getting on a plane. In the clip, she said: 'There is zero reason that I should be smelling a stranger's body odour radiating off of their warm body at five o'clock in the morning. 'And it's always men, sometimes it's ladies who are having a lady problem that nobody told them about, but usually it's men. She added: 'Wash yourself! You are going to be shoulder to shoulder with strangers. Show up clean or don't come at all.' Elsewhere Cher revealed another annoying habit is when people play music and other noises out loud on their phones or iPad. She said: 'It's no one else's problem except yours that you didn't charge your earpods or you didn't bring headphones. 'Why are you making it everyone else's problem around you, Jail! I don't care if your kid is going to cry because they can't listen to Cocomelon on full blast that is less annoying than hearing off of their iPad.' People rushed to the comments to leave their own thoughts with some agreeing with the flight attendant. One person said: 'The body odor thing is absolutely, however if they are on this flight because another was cancelled or something and they had to sleep at the airport. maybe hand out body wipes....' Another added: 'Ever had to run twenty minutes to a connecting flight with luggage in tow? You'll sweat, my dear, and there may be an odour.' To which Cher replied: 'Wear deodorant ?? It's pretty simple, it works in a preventative way.' It comes after Cher revealed a further three annoying habits that she believes should be made 'illegal' on plane journeys. According to Cher, the most irritating behavior is 'manspreading' or, more specifically, 'manspreading when you're in a middle seat'. According to the Oxford English dictionary, manspreading refers to the 'the practice whereby a man adopts a sitting position with his legs wide apart, in such a way as to encroach on an adjacent seat' - especially on public transport. Branding this behavior as 'unacceptable' in her TikTok, Cher said: 'I've been a passenger, and had it numerous times, where men will spread their knees all the way into my seat section or the person's on the other side. 'It's just unacceptable. 'It's always the shortest ones that are doing it!' she continued. 'I'm 5ft 8in, so if I'm taking up just my seat section, then you as a little 5ft 6in man can definitely do the same.' Cher also claimed that 'smelling like anything' during a flight was inconsiderate to other passengers. 'It's already an environment where people are prone to getting nauseous, so having an extra fragrance on top of that is just not a good mix. 'But if I had to pick one, I would definitely choose someone's perfume over someone's body odor over because we get that sometimes,' she clarified. Lastly, Cher added, taking off your shoes and walking around the plane barefoot was a big no-no. 'You seriously need to go to jail if you are having your bare toes out when you go to the bathroom,' she continued. 'I see this all the time and it should be against the law and in general I don't want to see your bare feet at all. Wear shoes or wear socks.' The clip, which racked up over 7,000 views, was captioned: 'Don't get mad at the fragrance one in the cabin! Some people are extremely sensitive to smells (I'm people)' Cher's clip sparked a spirited discussion in the comments section, with several people agreeing with her advice. One TikTok user noted: 'When they man spread in the middle i make myself as big as possible 'til they get the hint.' Another added: 'If someone man spreads I just lean my legs against him. He'll move and retract eventually.' Someone else added: 'If he manspreads I'm doing it too and now making things awkward by our legs touching.' A fourth added: 'Thank you for this… I'm a fairly frequent flier with fragrance hypersensitivity. 'I had a woman try to wipe down our shared armrest with a fragranced wet wipe, once.'
