NEW DELHI: The Nifty Realty index closed on a positive note on Monday.Shares of Brigade Enterprises Ltd.(up 1.71 per cent), Prestige Estates Projects Ltd.(up 1.09 per cent), Macrotech Developers Ltd.(up 0.68 per cent) and Phoenix Mills Ltd.(up 0.48 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.On the other hand, Raymond Ltd.(down 1.39 per cent), Oberoi Realty Ltd.(down 1.35 per cent), Anant Raj Ltd.(down 0.59 per cent), DLF Ltd.(down 0.42 per cent) and Sobha Ltd.(down 0.26 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.The Nifty Realty index closed 0.08 per cent up at 972.75.Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended up 0.3 points at 25461.3, while the BSE Sensex stood up 9.61 points at 83442.5.Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 22 ended in the green, while 28 closed in the red.Shares of JP Power, PC Jeweller, RattanIndia Power, Vodafone Idea and YES Bank were among the most traded shares on the NSE.Shares of J G Chemicals, PC Jeweller, Laxmi Goldorna House, Zota Healthcare and Sirca Paints hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Dreamfolks Services, Sadhana Nitro, SKIL Infrastructure, Stampede Cap(DVR)and Globe Civil Projects hit their fresh 52-week lows.

Valuations of Indian equities are trading above their long-term averages, indicating stocks are far from cheap at current levels. The Nifty is trading at an estimated Price to Earnings (PE) ratio of 21.7 times, above its averages for five, ten and fifteen years, according to Motilal Oswal Financial Services . The price-to-book multiple for the Nifty stands at 3 times, compared to a decade average of 2.7 times, it said.
