After 19 years, ‘Khosla Ka Ghosla' returns with a sequel, new script locked, Huma Qureshi joins the cast, more names expected soon

It's the film that quietly made its way into people's hearts and stayed there. Khosla Ka Ghosla, the 2006 slice-of-life comedy starring Anupam Kher, Boman Irani, Ranvir Shorey, Vinay Pathak and Tara Sharma, didn't roar at the box office instantly, but its slow-burn success turned it into a bona fide cult classic. Now, 19 years later, it's getting a sequel. According to a Pinkvilla report, the makers have locked the script for Khosla Ka Ghosla 2, and are eyeing a shoot by the end of 2025. The film will be helmed by Umesh Bist and promises to retain the comic spirit of the original. Who's joining the Khosla clan this time? In a fresh update, Huma Qureshi has reportedly been finalised as one of the main leads. A source close to the project revealed, 'Huma has heard the script and liked it. She's on board for one of the central roles.' The sequel is expected to go on floors by November 2025, and will likely hit theatres sometime in 2026. The production is said to be backed by T-Series, though formal announcements are still awaited. Will the original cast return? While nothing has been officially confirmed, early buzz suggests that both Anupam Kher and Boman Irani are not just returning—but might also be involved in the film's production. Back in 2006, the story revolved around Kamal Khosla (played by Anupam Kher), an ordinary middle-class man trying to reclaim his land from a cunning property dealer, Khurana (played by Boman Irani). It was sharp, funny, and quietly reflective of Delhi's middle-class anxieties. The film won the National Award for Best Feature Film (Hindi) and continues to enjoy fan love on OTT platforms. With a mix of nostalgia and new energy, the sequel is being pitched as a complete comic entertainer—and audiences are already curious how the story will be updated for 2026.

Ali Fazal Reveals Mother Died 3 Days After Sushant Singh Rajput: ‘Weird Because…'

Last Updated: Ali Fazal shared that he lost his mother exactly three days after the demise of actor Sushant Singh Rajput. Ali Fazal continues to make a name for himself both in India and overseas. While he is experiencing a number of highs in his professional life, the actor opened up about a depressing time in his personal life. Ali shared that he lost his mother exactly three days after the death of actor Sushant Singh Rajput. He mentioned that though they never met in person, Ali described the peculiar and emotional timing of the events and how it affected him. Ali Fazal in conversation with Mid-day mentioned how he found out about Sushant Singh Rajput's demise in June 2020. During the time, Ali was at a hospital in Lucknow, dealing with his mother's health. He said, 'It's very disheartening when something like that happens. It's weird because I was myself going through a different period because three days after that, I lost my mother. So I was in a freaking hospital in Lucknow, dealing with that, and I didn't have the mind space to process anything else happening around that time. But yes, I did. Of course, later I got to know because the chatter was all over. It's sad. He was a very smart guy." Ali Fazal-Sushant Singh Rajput's Science Connection When asked if he had met Sushant Singh Rajput in person, Ali denied but mentioned that he once had an interesting interaction with him online. Ali noticed Sushant reacting to a science related post and was quite impressed that the latter understood it so well. He added, 'I don't remember what I'd written. But it was a distant acknowledgement, and from far away we always wished each other luck. Actually, a lot of people I've heard and I, myself, come from a place of wanting to champion people around us. I've been taught to do that. But that doesn't happen, that's it." Sushant Singh Rajput passed away on June 14, 2020, leaving a void in the Indian film industry. Ali Fazal is basking in the success of Anurag Basu's Metro… In Dino, where he plays a pivotal role opposite Fatima Sana Shaikh.
