CARSOME reappointed as official trade-in partner for Malaysia Autoshow 2025
SERDANG : Southeast Asia's largest integrated car e-commerce platform, CARSOME, has announced their reappointment as the official trade-in partner for the Malaysia Autoshow 2025.
The prestigious event will be held at the Malaysia Automotive, Robotics, and IoT Institute (MaRii) at MAEPS Serdang from today, May 9 to May 15.
Building on last year's success, this marks CARSOME's second consecutive year at the Autoshow, bringing fresh experiences and exclusive offers for automotive enthusiasts.
Touching on the event, Eric Chan, CARSOME Group's president and chief operating officer, said: 'This event continues to be a meaningful platform for us to engage with Malaysians through an accessible sell-your-car experience, car ownership solutions, exciting offers, and community-driven experiences.'
Adding to this year's excitement is CARSOME's collaboration with the Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) that has arranged for special appearances of football players from Harimau Malaya Men's and Women's National Teams.
Chan said the CARSOME-FAM collaboration has added a unique layer to this year's showcase, blending national pride with practical rewards.

Meanwhile Azrul Reza Aziz, CEO of MARii, said they were proud to welcome CARSOME back as their official trade-in partner for the event.

On May 10 of the event, football fans can meet Harimau Malaya's men's team midfielder Safawi Rashid and striker Paulo Josué, who will be at the venue from 1.15pm to 2.15pm.
On May 13, women's team midfielders Nur Lyana Soberi and Farahiyah Muhamad Ridzuan will be at CARSOME's booth from 1.15pm to 2.15pm to catch up with football fans.
CARSOME will also be unveiling a range of limited-edition FAM merchandise, available exclusively at their booth.
Besides taking home memorable keepsakes, football fans will also enjoy attractive event-only promotions. These include an additional RM500 discount on top of ongoing monthly offers when purchasing a CARSOME Certified car, and an extra RM200 on top of the offer price when selling a car to CARSOME.

The move, detailed in a letter to His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim, the King of Malaysia, marks a sharp escalation in US-Malaysia trade relations. Trump cited Malaysia's 'Tariff, and Non Tariff, Policies and Trade Barriers' as the basis for the decision. The president claimed the US has suffered 'many years' of unsustainable trade deficits with Malaysia. He described the imbalance as a threat to both the US economy and national security. Trump further expressed disappointment over the lack of reciprocity in the bilateral trading relationship. 'Our relationship has been, unfortunately, far from Reciprocal,' he wrote in the letter dated July 7. He added that goods transshipped to avoid the tariff would still face the highest applicable rate. Trump suggested that Malaysia could avoid the new tariff by encouraging companies to manufacture in the US. 'There will be no Tariff if Malaysia, or companies within your Country, decide to build or manufacture product within the United States,' he wrote. Pre-trial hearing for Malaysian billionaire Ong Beng Seng in Singapore adjourned again, rescheduled for July 23
SINGAPORE, July 8 — Singapore-based Malaysian billionaire hotelier and property tycoon Ong Beng Seng will return to court on July 23 for a pre-trial conference, as proceedings in his high-profile graft case continue. The Straits Times reported that the session follows a hearing on July 8, which was adjourned to allow parties to file revised submissions. No further details were disclosed. Ong, 79, had previously been scheduled to plead guilty on July 3. However, the hearing was postponed the day before, with the prosecution and defence indicating that they needed more time to finalise their sentencing submissions. The tycoon, best known for bringing Formula One to Singapore in 2008, had initially been slated to plead guilty on April 2. That date was also pushed back at the request of his lawyers, who cited the need to obtain his medical reports. Ong was charged in October 2024 with abetting a public servant in obtaining gifts and with abetment of obstruction of justice. The charges stem from dealings with then-transport minister S. Iswaran, who was sentenced to 12 months' jail in October 2024 after pleading guilty to corruption offences. According to court documents, Ong allegedly arranged for Iswaran to travel on his private jet from Singapore to Doha in December 2022. The flight, valued at around S$10,400 (RM35,000), was followed by a one-night stay at the Four Seasons Hotel Doha worth over S$4,700 and a business-class return flight estimated at S$5,700. The businessman is also accused of informing Iswaran that the Corrupt Practices Investigation Bureau had obtained the flight manifest for that trip. Iswaran subsequently requested to be billed for the private flight to minimise suspicion, according to the court documents. Ong's case remains under the spotlight due to his longstanding ties with Singapore's Formula One project. He was instrumental in securing the city-state's debut on the F1 calendar in 2008, working closely with Iswaran, who chaired the F1 steering committee and led negotiations on the Government's behalf. The upcoming hearing on July 23 is expected to determine the next steps in the ongoing legal process.

AOS is an annual event showcasing various artwork formats in an automotive setting. AOS 2025 – which takes place on July 26 and 27 at Malaysia Agro Exposition Park Serdang (MAEPS) – marks the third year of collaboration with Hot Wheels, a popular scale model car series. More than 20 international guests from the custom vehicle and creative media scene would be making appearances at the event, continuing the organiser's efforts to promote knowledge- sharing and community building. AOS this year will feature a diverse showcase of custom culture exhibitions, global guests and activities suitable for all ages. New additions to this year's event include a World of Wheels exhibition presented by a special outdoor photo studio for cars and an indoor photo studio for motorcycles — with the latter two offering a chance for owners to have their vehicles professionally photographed.
