Shefali Jariwala was always a family woman; stood by parents' side through thick and thin; was always a daddy's girl at heart
Even though the star was surrounded by the glitzy Bollywood life from the get-go, it never took away from her main priority: her family.
Jariwala had always been a family person, and she had managed to respect her parent and family ever since she began her career. Her father, however, was the most influential figure in her life, and although strict, he was her biggest supporter through it all. In an old interview, the actress had shared how much her father meant to her, and how she began her career even though he was not fully into the idea of her modelling and acting.
Jariwala on how her father wanted her to prioritise her studies
In an old interview with Dainik Bhaskar, Shefali Jariwala revealed how, even though she wished to enter the entertainment industry at an early age, her father was adamant about how she should be focusing on her studies first. When the offer for 'Kaanta Laga' first came, she had to make a promise to complete and focus on her studies to her father. After which, he allowed her to star in the music video that changed the course of her career.
In the interview she had shared that 'Mere pita ek paaramparik Gujarati parivaar se the aur wo mere glamour ki duniya mein aane ke faisle ke khilaaf the, kyunki hamare parivaar mein padhai ko sabse zyada mahatva diya jaata tha. Mere pita ne shart rakhi thi ki main pehle padhai poori karun'.
The actress did not fall short on her promise to her father, and even went on to complete her education by finishing her Computer Engineering course from Sardar Patel Engineering College. Later on, she even became an IT professional as well!
During the same interview, the star expressed gratitude towards her parents and even thanked them for forcing her to complete her education, as the discipline and skills that she learned throughout those years had helped her manage her life better altogether.
'My forever-Valentine, My Dad!'
The star had remained public and open about her love for her family and had managed to actively post about them on her social media accounts. A sweet post from February this year went viral online again. The star had posted a photo of her and her father posing together in a pool with a peace sign. The caption had read 'My forever-Valentine, My Dad !', awing fans as well.
She even paid tribute to her father on Father's Day as well by posting a series of old family photos online.
Her father, who is a stage 3 colon cancer survivor, was featured in all of the photos. The caption of the post read 'To my dad who taught me the game of life and how to play it right. To my father, who has always been there for me and guided me to find happiness in life. Happy Father's Day, Papa! I love you."

Shefali Jariwala's first marriage ended with serious allegations of abuse and unauthorized bank withdrawals by ex-husband Harmeet Singh. 'Kaanta Laga' girl Shefali Jariwala breathed her last on June 27. As her fans are mourning the untimely demise of the actress-dancer, pictures from her first marriage to musician Harmeet Singh have gone viral on Instagram. The photos were shared by an Instagram pop culture handle called Celebrity Shala. In the photos, the actress was seen draped in traditional attire consisting of a pink kurta and jeans. She also covered her head with a dupatta. She was also spotted flaunting sindoor on her head and maroon-colored 'chuda' or bangles on her wrists. Their relationship ended on a troubling note, with serious allegations made by Shefali that highlighted the darker side of their time together. As per police records, she lodged an official complaint at Oshiwara Police Station in Mumbai, accusing Harmeet of subjecting her to both emotional and physical distress. She also alleged that he had withdrawn around Rs 12 lakh from their shared bank account without seeking her permission, further adding to the betrayal she felt in the relationship. During a candid conversation with Times Now in 2021, Shefali delved deeper into the emotional turmoil she experienced during her first marriage. Shefali's decision to walk away from her first marriage wasn't taken lightly. One of the key reasons she was able to take such a bold step was her financial independence. She acknowledged that in Indian society, divorce still carries stigma and is often seen as a taboo. However, her upbringing taught her to value personal happiness over societal expectations. She credited her courage to the unwavering support she received from her family and her firm belief in doing what feels right, regardless of judgment from also highlighted how economic freedom gave her the power to shape her own future. By not being financially dependent, she didn't have to stay trapped in an unhappy and unhealthy marriage. Her story underscores the importance of empowering oneself, emotionally and financially, especially in relationships that lack mutual respect or closing that difficult chapter, Shefali found love again and moved forward. She eventually married actor Parag Tyagi, known for his role in the television series 'Brahmarakshas'. Her journey from emotional trauma to personal empowerment serves as an inspiring example of resilience, strength, and the value of standing up for oneself, even when society makes it difficult.
