Britain: We will recognize Palestine unless Israel takes concrete actions on Gaza
London – Saba: British Prime Minister Keir Starmer announced on Tuesday that his country will recognize the state of Palestine next September unless Israel takes concrete steps toward peace, a ceasefire, and ending the horrific situation in Gaza. During a press statement on Gaza following a UK cabinet meeting, Starmer added that airdrops of aid to Gaza "have begun," emphasizing his desire to see at least 500 aid trucks entering the strip daily. He stated that the only way to resolve the humanitarian crisis in Gaza is through a long-term solution, affirming his support for ceasefire efforts and stressing that the time has come to recognize Palestine. "I can confirm that Britain will recognize the state of Palestine at the United Nations General Assembly in September unless the Israeli government takes tangible steps to end the appalling situation in Gaza and agree to a ceasefire," he said. With American and European support, the Israeli occupation army has continued to commit genocidal crimes in Gaza since October 7, 2023, resulting in the deaths of 60,034 Palestinian civilians, most of them children and women, and injuring 145,870 others as of today. The toll is not final, as thousands of victims remain under rubble or in the streets, unreachable by rescue and medical teams. Whatsapp Telegram Email Print

Gaza – Saba: The Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) on Tuesday called on the Palestinian people in the occupied West Bank and the territories occupied since 1948 to actively participate in all public events and mobilizations announced by national forces and institutions, in defense of the Palestinian people and their just cause, and in solidarity with the people of Gaza who are enduring one of the most brutal wars of genocide and starvation in history. In a statement received by the Yemeni News Agency (Saba), the PFLP affirmed that "it is the duty of every Palestinian individual and fighter to work, mobilize, and participate in the popular events announced by national forces." The statement emphasized the importance of the widest possible public turnout, especially in light of the existential threat facing the Palestinian people due to the ongoing aggression and relentless campaign of extermination. The PFLP further urged Palestinians across all occupied territories to strengthen unity, coordination, and joint organization, intensify popular mobilizations, and take part in all forms of resistance to the brutal genocide and ethnic cleansing waged by the enemy against the people of Gaza and the West Bank. This call coincides with large-scale public activities planned in the diaspora and in various capitals and cities around the world. The PFLP stressed that national factions, institutions, and grassroots structures must set aside internal differences and work to escalate efforts in confronting the genocide, and to play an effective role in popular mobilization and all forms of resistance against the Zionist enemy. The Front also praised the efforts of Palestinian youth and the night marches taking place in various areas of the occupied West Bank, calling on young people from all movements , sectors to overcome voices of defeatism and despair, and to unite in national action, reclaim their role on the ground, defend their existence, homeland, and the just cause of the Palestinians.
