Soham murderer Ian Huntley sparks fury with sick taunt about child victims
Ian Huntley has sparked fury with his choice of clothing in prison with inmates branding him a "sick b*****d".
The disappearance of schoolgirls Holly Wells and Jessica Chapman in August 2002 saw more than 400 police officers descend on the sleepy Cambridgeshire town of Soham. Alongside volunteers, they worked around the clock in a bid to find the two 10-year-old missing bestmates.
The pair had vanished as they left a family barbecue to get some sweets from the leisure centre vending machine, but ended up being lured into the home of evil school caretaker Ian Huntley. He and his partner, Maxine Carr, spoke to the press about the schoolchildren and joined in with the desperate search.
Only it transpired that Huntley was hiding a disturbing secret, that he was their callous murderer.
On August 20, Huntley was charged with two counts of murder and sentenced to two terms of life imprisonment, with a minimum of 40 years behind bars. Huntley, who will not be considered for release until 2042 at the earliest. The murderer is at constant risk of attack from other prisoners and has had a string of health problems and suicide attempts behind bars.
Now 51, he is serving a life term at HMP Frankland, Durham, where sources say he has been wearing a No10 Manchester United-style shirt — an apparent sick reference to his ten-year-old victims Holly Wells and Jessica Chapman.
A source said: 'He's been seen strutting about in the shirt as if it's funny. It is vile.' Huntley was called a 'sick b****d' by inmates for wearing the football top — and responded with a thumbs-up, reports The Sun.
Inmates there say he has been 'strutting about' in the plain red sports top with No10 on the back, which he is thought to have ordered from Sports Direct. A souce said: "'Everyone thinks he is doing it to satisfy his own sick mind, rather than for football reasons.
'He started wearing it when it became hot enough this year and is often seen in it when he walks to the gym or to healthcare.'
The source added: "Officers also do not like it and quite a few have said it's wrong and he should have it taken off him. But staff are powerless to stop him as it's not an actual football shirt and he hasn't broken any rules. However it is just wrong. Huntley is not even a football fan really. The Number 10 is especially offensive and seems a sick reference to the girls.'
Tory Shadow Justice Secretary Robert Jenrick said: "This disgusting murderer shouldn't be swanning around jail in a shirt designed to insult the memory of Holly Wells and Jessica Chapman. It should be ripped off his back by prison officers. The family of those two poor girls are entitled to know that Huntley isn't getting any special treatment in jail, and that his life is as miserable as it can be made to be."

The killers, who both have previous convictions for carrying blades in public, will serve at least 15 years and 10 months before being eligible for parole. The court previously heard how Kelyan was attacked on the Route 472 bus on January 7. Prosecutor Deanna Heer KC said the teen killers had boarded the vehicle armed with identical machetes hidden in their clothes. The pair walked towards Kelyan "with purpose" and withdrew their blades before immediately stabbing him without uttering a word to their victim. Ms Heer said: "Since Kelyan Bokassa was seated on the back seat, he was cornered, unable to escape as the defendants repeatedly thrust their knives towards him, smiling as they did so." The attack lasted around 14 seconds - with the killers thrusting the machetes towards Kelyan 27 times. Passengers heard terrified Kelyan screaming "Help. Help. I've been stabbed" as one of the blows severed his femoral artery. He managed to stumble down the stairs, where he begged: "Take me to my mum's. I want my mum". Sadly, Arsenal mad Kelyan couldn't be saved and died shortly after medics arrived. One of the machetes was discarded in the River Thames but was later recovered. Kelyan's mum previously claimed the teen was groomed by gangs from the age of six. Mary, 50, told how she would find him on park benches at night and beg him to come home after he was taken into care four years ago. On her unsuccessful legal battle to get him back, she told The Sun on Sunday: 'I tried to prevent it. I screamed. I said, 'My son is going to be killed'.' In a victim impact statement, she told how her son is now at peace while his killers are "going to have a really tough time". Mary added: "I ask myself what has happened to those two boys that has resulted in that terrible act of violence, and I cannot imagine how can they be so angry. "What they did was horrific and I do not know what has led them to do this, and maybe I will never."

Former Man United star Javier Hernandez breaks silence after he was fined following sexist comments
Javier Hernandez has broken his silence after being fined for making sexist comments. The former Manchester United striker sparked fury by accusing women of 'eradicating masculinity' in an explosive Instagram rant on Friday last week. Hernandez, affectionately dubbed 'Chicarito,' claimed women are making society 'hypersensitive' and that they should focus on 'multiplying, cleaning, maintaining the home'. He was fined and reprimanded by the Mexican Football Federation (FMF) and his current side Chivas for his remarks. And now Hernandez, 37, has apologised for his 'any confusion or upset' in the wake of his comments and the subsequent backlash. 'I sincerely thank everyone who has supported me, who has respectfully shared their perspectives with me and demanded that I be a better person,' he wrote on Instagram. 'I am deeply sorry for any confusion or upset my recent words have caused; It was never my intention to limit, hurt or divide. 'As a father, man and member of this community, my priority is to act with respect, humility and responsibility. 'I am listening, reflecting, and committed to expressing myself with greater clarity and sensitivity, especially on such sensitive topics. 'I believe that change begins with oneself. I will take advantage of this opportunity to understand, grow and continue working to be a better version of myself, from honesty, love for my family, my values and love for all of you. Thank you for your understanding, demand, love and company on this path.' Hernandez was blasted by fans on social media as well as public figures for his outburst. President Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo, Mexico's first female president, said: 'Chicharito is a very good [footballer] but when it comes to his opinion on women... he still has a lot to learn.' In a joint statement between the FMF and Mexico's top men's and women's leagues, they said the country's gender and diversity commission had opened an investigation into Hernandez's comments 'to prevent and punish this behaviour'. Chivas said the comments were 'contrary to the principles and values' of the club and that they had taken 'appropriate action' against Hernandez, though they did not specify which action. Hernandez spent five years at Old Trafford, winning two Premier League titles before leaving in 2015. The Mexican is his country's all-time record goalscorer, with 52 strikes in 109 appearances, and also played for Real Madrid as well as spending two years with both West Ham and Bayer Leverkusen. He has now been subjected to a stream of criticism over the comments he made, which saw him state: 'Women, you are failing. You are eradicating masculinity by making society hypersensitive. 'Embrace your feminine energy: nurturing, caring, receiving, multiplying, cleaning, maintaining the home, which is the most precious place for us men. 'Do not be afraid to be women, to allow yourselves to be led by a man who only wants to see you happy, because we do not know heaven without you. Holding yourselves responsible for your energy is also a way of loving you.' He added: 'Men, we are failing in the lack of commitment, putting our partners last, not keeping our word, and not prioritising habits to become admirable. 'I understand that we are afraid to speak and truly express what we feel because they are trying to eradicate masculinity, since in certain cases of the past, feminine energy was suppressed, but many of us are here wanting to love you, take care of you, respect you, and provide for you. 'But you women must learn to honour masculinity,' he concluded. Hernandez's latest rant follows another controversial Instagram post from just a day earlier.
