Actor Tanushree Dutta, the OG MeToo whistleblower, has opened up about the emotional video she recently shared on her social media. In the now-viral clip that she shared on Tuesday, the actor can be seen sobbing and talking about being allegedly "harassed" inside her home. Tanushree Dutta gained fame with Aashiq Banaya Aapne in 2005.
"I am being harassed in my own house. I just called the cops, and they have asked me to come to the police station to lodge a proper complaint. I will probably go tomorrow or the day after. I am not well. I have been harassed so much in the past five years that I have fallen sick," she said in the video.
Tanushree has alleged that the video was a result "pain, stress, and fear she faced over the last five years".
Speaking to ANI, Tanushree said her video was not a stunt or drama, but a real "emotional response after enduring repeated traumatic events since MeToo allegations in 2018". "First of all, I want to say that it was my emotional response," she said.
"A lot of strange things have happened to me in the last five years. After MeToo, serious and dangerous things started happening around me. It took me time to understand that all of this was actually happening to me," she said.
"I was in an accident; my brakes failed. There were also attempts to mix something in my food to make me sick. Strange things started happening outside my house, too," Tanushree added.
When asked if anyone from the film industry reached out to help, she said, "I don't have any friends. And when all of this started happening to me, the few contacts I had also disappeared."
About people calling her a drama queen after her video, Tanushree said, "People always say such things. They said I was acting in 2008, they said the same in 2018. And who are these people anyway?"
She also responded to the accusations that her viral video was a publicity stunt saying, "There are many ways to go viral. I don't need to do all this. I am Tanushree Dutta. Miss India Universe," she said.
Tanushree first gained fame when she won the Femina Miss India Universe title in 2004. She later acted in popular films such as Aashiq Banaya Apne, Dhol, and Bhagam Bhag.

A consensus was reached this evening on the second day of protests by students. At around 5 pm, the university management after a day-long discussion with protesting students and their families reached a consensus on removing two college employees and taking legal action by filing a police case against them. Udaipur's Sukher police station officer, Ravindra Charan, stated that the protest has been ongoing for two days. A lengthy reconciliation discussion took place between the family and the university in the presence of the police on Saturday, following which a case was registered based on legal considerations. The relatives took the body to their ancestral village in Doda district of Jammu and Kashmir. The deceased student's father said, "My daughter was selected for this college through the PMSSS (Prime Minister's Special Scholarship Scheme). Everything was going fine. However, the college may have required additional fees for the final exams were going to be they (the college administration) had told me, I would have fulfilled their demand. I would have arranged the money anyhow." He further said, "They should have made their demands to the parents, not to the children...I want justice. Something like this should never happen to any other student," the father of the final-year Bachelor of Dental Surgery student alleged. The student was found hanging in her college hostel room in Bheelon Ka Bedla in Udaipur. Conversion racket: Six linked to Chhangur Baba held in Uttarakhand; aide's properties demolished

Chhangur Baba NEW DELHI: The Agra and Uttarakhand police, in a joint effort, have arrested six individuals linked to the Chhangur gang, an international religious conversion racket operating out of Pakistan and Dubai. Confirming the arrests on Saturday, Dehradun senior superintendent of police (SSP) Ajay Singh also revealed how the accused, Chhangur Baba, tried to bypass the state's anti-conversion law by shifting the process to Delhi. SSP Singh said the Agra Police team had been in Uttarakhand for the last ten days as part of the investigation. He added that a case had been registered based on Mariyam's complaint, and another victim had also been identified during the investigation. "A team of Agra Police from UP came here 10 days ago in regard to a case. A man named Abdul Rehman was converted to Islam from Hinduism in 2014-15. When we investigated the case, we learnt about a victim whose converted name was Mariyam. She was pressurised for conversion," said SSP Singh. "We also traced another victim, whose converted name was Sumaiyya. The investigation is in a primary stage. And both cases of conversion have been registered," he added, as quoted by ANI. "As anti-conversion laws have been implemented in Uttarakhand, the victims were called to Delhi for conversion. " Meanwhile, in Balrampur district of Uttar Pradesh, authorities began demolishing properties linked to Sabroz, an aide of Chhangur Baba alias Jalaluddin, the main accused in the mass conversion case. Balrampur circle officer Raghavendra Pratap said the construction was found to be illegal and prior notices had been served. Earlier, the Uttar Pradesh Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) arrested another accused in the case, Rajesh Kumar Upadhyay. His arrest followed those of Chhangur Baba and his close aide Nasreen, believed to be the masterminds of the alleged syndicate. According to ADG (law and order) Amitabh Yash, the gang had been operating for over 15 years, using various methods including honey-trapping, exploiting minors, and administrative pressure to facilitate religious conversions. "A significant amount of foreign funding has been traced to the gang," he said, as reported by ANI. "The syndicate used nearly 40 bank accounts and had different rate cards for various types of conversions. The ATS is tracking the sources of these funds. Yash added that properties acquired using illegal funds would be seized and demolished. "Chhangur Baba and his main associate, Neetu alias Nasreen, will be interrogated regarding their network, financial trail, and assets. The process to seize and demolish their illegally acquired properties has begun. All individuals against whom there is evidence have been arrested. Mohammed Ahmed is also named in the case, and further investigation is underway," the ADG said. The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has also stepped in, seeking a copy of the FIR to probe the financial trail. Officials believe the proximity of the region to the Nepal border could indicate a wider conspiracy involving demographic changes. As part of its probe, the ED conducted raids at 14 locations on Wednesday- 12 in Utraula, Balrampur, and two in Mumbai- marking a significant escalation in the investigation.
