Snow White star Rachel Zegler, who has been at the center of the film's controversies for the past three-plus years, has her next movie role lined up.
Snow White, of course, has been a box office disaster for Disney, having earned an underwhelming $42.2 million from 4,200 North American theaters in its opening weekend in March and dropping 66% in business in its second Friday to Sunday frame.
Over the weekend, Snow White tumbled out of the domestic box office top 10 after dropping its theater count to 610 venues, down more from 1,650 theaters the week before.
As of Monday, Snow White has earned nearly $85.8 million in North American theaters and $114.4 million internationally for a worldwide box office tally of $200.2 million to date against a $269.4 million production budget before prints and advertising expenses.
Despite the film's financial woes, it hasn't prevented Zegler from landing her first screen role following the live-action Snow White remake. According to Variety, Zegler will star opposite Oscar winner Marisa Tomei in the comedy drama She Gets It From Me.
Per Variety, the film — which will be directed by Julia von Heinz — is based on a true story about a woman named Nicky (Zegler), 'whose engagement celebration turns into a search for her pill-popping, ex-punk rocker birth mother, Charlotte (Tomei).'
There's no word when She Gets It From Me will start production.
A week prior to the release of Snow White in theaters, Variety reported that Zegler was cast in the lead role of Argentine political leader Eva Perón in Andrew Lloyd Webber's classic musical Evita, which will stage in London's West End. Previews for the Zegler-led Evita begin in June and the musical opens in July.

Rachel Zegler, of course, made headlines in 2022 for referring to the prince in the original animated classic Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs as a stalker in a 2022 red carpet interview with Extra TV, where she also said the 'cartoon' was dated.
In addition, the actor also made waves with a post on X in August of 2024, where she followed up a post thanking Snow White fans for watching the film's trailer with another post that read, 'and always remember, free Palestine.' Then, in November, Zegler created social media posts calling out newly re-elected President Donald Trump and his MAGA supporters, for which she later apologized (via Variety).
Following a report on all the controversies that brewed during the production of Snow White's production, Jonah Platt, the son of Snow White producer Marc Platt, took Zegler's social media actions to task in a scathing Instagram post.
Snow White, starring Rachel Zegler in the title role and Gal Gadot as the Evil Queen, is still playing in theaters.

Sarah Jessica Parker is bidding farewell to Carrie Bradshaw, the iconic television character she's played for 27 years across six seasons of HBO's 'Sex and the City,' three seasons of HBO Max's 'And Just Like That' and two feature films. 'And Just Like That' showrunner Michael Patrick King announced the 'Sex and the City' franchise is ending with 'And Just Like That' Season 3, prompting Parker to post an emotional clip montage of Carrie's best moments on her Instagram alongside a poem about the character's end. 'Carrie Bradshaw has dominated my professional heartbeat for 27 years. I think I have loved her most of all,' Parker wrote. 'I know others have loved her just as I have. Been frustrated, condemned and rooted for her. The symphony of all those emotions has been the greatest soundtrack and most consequential companion. Therefore the most sentimental and profound gratitude and lifetime of debt. To you all.' STAR WARS Is Heading Back to Theaters for Its 50th Anniversary Celebration — GeekTyrant

It's hard to believe, but Star Wars is about to turn 50 years old, and how is the galaxy far, far away planning to celebrate this massive milestone? By heading back to where it all began… the big screen. Disney just announced that George Lucas' original Star Wars will be re-released in theaters on April 30, 2027, giving fans a chance to experience the iconic space adventure the way it was meant to be seen. While the official anniversary lands on May 25, 2027, Disney is dropping the re-release a little early because that weekend is already locked in for the debut of a brand-new film, Star Wars: Starfighter , starring Ryan Gosling. This theatrical return comes hot on the heels of Star Wars Celebration Los Angeles, which runs from April 1 to 4, 2027. With all eyes on the franchise during that time, you can bet Lucasfilm will lean in hard on promoting the return of the original film. There's even a chance we'll see some of the original cast and crew reunite during the celebration. The big mystery right now is what version of Star Wars fans will get. Will it be the 1997 Special Edition, the version George Lucas considers definitive, complete with added scenes and updated visual effects? That's the safe bet. But there's a growing glimmer of hope among die-hard fans. Just last month, Kathleen Kennedy attended a rare screening of an untouched original print of Star Wars , not even labeled as Episode IV: A New Hope . That screening has fans wondering if Lucasfilm is gearing up for something even more special. Maybe they're cooking up a new restoration of the unaltered theatrical version. Or even a version that fuses the best elements from both cuts. Whatever it is, if Lucasfilm drops the original, unedited classic, it'll be the holy grail moment fans have been dreaming of. The 1977 classic tells the story of a farm boy named Luke Skywalker, played by Mark Hamill, who gets swept into a galaxy-wide rebellion with Princess Leia (Carrie Fisher), Obi-Wan Kenobi (Alec Guinness), and the roguish Han Solo (Harrison Ford). It changed cinema forever and kicked off a cultural phenomenon that includes sequels, prequels, spinoffs, shows, novels, comics, and a mountain of collectibles. So, get ready to relive the magic. Whether it's the original theatrical cut or the Special Edition, Star Wars returning to theaters in 2027 is going to be a fun event for longtime fans and a perfect introduction for a new generation.

Owens had said in June that he refuses to date women over the age of 60. 8 Mel Owens in May at the Disney Upfront. Disney 'One of the dates was a roast. It was brutal,' he confessed to Glamour in an interview published on Friday. 'They were killing me…. It was good.' After all, Owens knows he was in the wrong for his comments. 8 Mel Owens in New York City. Disney 'My reference of dating was 39, 40 years old,' he explained to the outlet. 'I hadn't dated in 26, 27 years. And at that point, I still hadn't dated, so my reference was my age, basically. That's what I told my friend.' However, Owens' pal didn't agree with the attorney. He added, 'She goes, 'It doesn't matter. You've said some things that are just incredibly wrong.' And I go, 'I've got to apologize.'' 8 Mel Owens poses with Jessi Ngatikaura and Layla Taylor. Disney Owens also set the record straight on why he agreed to do the reality show despite not wanting to date anyone over 60. 'Because I didn't know anything about 'The Golden Bachelor' ages,' he confessed. 'I didn't know the age range. To me, the age range was 45 to 60. That's my age range. I go, 'Oh, okay.' So I'm thinking that's the 'gold' years for me. My reference again was when I was dating at 39, 40. I hadn't dated in 26 years, so I had no clue. And that's why the comment. I didn't know.' While on the 'MGoBlue Podcasts with Jon Jansen' in June, Owens also made the jab that he wasn't interested in dating women with any artificial hips. 8 Mel Owens and Ryan Clark at the Disney Upfront. Disney Looking back, the athlete regrets that statement. 'I know [that's not right]. People run marathons. I'm an attorney, I represent athletes with injuries, and most of them are football, hockey, and a lot of them have artificial hips,' he went on. 'I apologized to the women on the show. When I first walked in, I addressed it. I apologized to them. I said, 'It was unfair, insensitive. I want to earn it back. Just give me the chance.' And hopefully, these last two, three weeks, I earned some of that back.' After Owens' podcast appearance, fans called for the reality star to be recast. The news made its way back to Owens. 8 Mel Owens and Hannah Storm smile for the camera. Disney 'My friend asked me, 'Hey, are you getting replaced?' I go, 'Not that I know of,'' he recalled, admitting that he would have been upset if he had been. 'Looking back on it and looking forward, it's a great experience,' Owens gushed. 'It's such a great experience for me, and so, oh yeah, I wouldn't have wanted to be recast. But I'm going to earn it back just by being myself and being fair and apologetic and honest and be myself.' Not everyone is so quick to give this year's golden bachelor a second chance. Some fans shared they won't be tuning in when Owens' season airs next month. 8 Mel Owens is the new 'Golden Bachelor.' Disney But the California resident thinks that would be a mistake. 'Well, if you don't tune in, you'll never know,' Owens teased. 'So you got to tune in. And again, I'm trying to earn it back. So, watch the show and see if I earn it back. Because I apologized.' 'To earn it back, you have to be earnest in your work to get the trust back,' Owens continued. 'And everybody there is smart and they can see through you if you're lying or you don't mean what you say. That's why I say tune in.' 8 Mel Owens chats with other attendees at the Disney Upfront. Disney Along with urging fans to turn on their televisions, the ABC star knows he deserved the criticism he received. 'But I deserved [the anger],' Owens added. 'That was a mistake by me. It's unfair. It's insensitive, like I said. And I have to earn it back every single moment that I'm on the show.' In June, Owens said he told producers his preferred age range is '45 to 60, just being honest.' He also told them that 'if they're 60 or over, I'm cutting them. This is not 'The Silver Bachelor,' this is 'The Golden Bachelor.'' 8 Mel Owens at 2025 Disney Upfront. Jackie Brown / Owens revealed that the producers then told him, ''You can't use the word cut.' I go, 'Well, that's an NFL term.'' His comments were quickly faced with backlash. 'He doesn't seem like the type for 'in sickness and in health,'' one fan wrote on X, while a second chimed in: 'Awful. I won't watch with a jerk in the lead.' A third social media user stated, 'doesn't sound like much of a mystery as to why he's still a bachelor. Anyone who chooses to go on that show deserves whatever disaster they get.' Owens was married to Fabiana Owens from 2002 to 2020, and the exes share sons Lucas (born in 2005) and Andre (born in 2007), according to Us Weekly. The 'Golden Bachelor' premieres on Wednesday, September 24 at 8 p.m. ET on ABC.
