Zen Technologies shares jump 3% as it secures patent for laser-based combat training filter

By Aman Shukla Published on June 30, 2025, 10:34 IST Zen Technologies' stock rose over 3% in morning trade after the company announced the grant of its 54th Indian patent—an innovation that could significantly shape the future of military training systems. The newly granted patent, titled 'Single ILU Long Pass Filter,' is a breakthrough in the use of laser-based simulation technology. This patent also marks Zen's 82nd global patent, reinforcing its growing leadership in defence R&D and cutting-edge training solutions. According to the company, the new filter technology allows the seamless integration of both visible and infrared laser beams into a single, stable output. This boosts the realism, accuracy, and efficiency of combat simulators used in soldier training. Traditional laser systems often require multiple beam paths and frequent calibration. Zen's compact and durable design eliminates these limitations—reducing maintenance while offering reliable performance in harsh field conditions. Zen Technologies stock opened at ₹1,960.00 and, at the time of writing, touched an intraday high of ₹1,989.90, while the low stood at ₹1,940.00. The current levels remain well below its 52-week high of ₹2,627.00 but significantly above the 52-week low of ₹945.35. SKF India announces major Rs 4,000 crore capex plan to expand automotive capacity across Haridwar, Pune and Bangalore

By News Desk Published on June 30, 2025, 10:04 IST SKF India has unveiled an ambitious automotive capacity expansion plan worth up to ₹4,000-₹4,600 crore over FY25–30, with targeted investments across three key manufacturing hubs—Haridwar, Pune, and Bangalore. The move is aimed at enhancing its capabilities in both traditional internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicles and the rapidly growing electric vehicle (EV) segment. According to the company's roadmap, the Haridwar plant—dedicated to manufacturing deep groove ball bearings (DGBB)—will see a capacity increase of approximately 50%. The estimated investment for this expansion is in the range of ₹1,000–1,500 crore, with completion targeted by 2029. This facility is focused on bearings specific to 2-wheelers (2W) and EV powertrain applications. The Pune plant, which manufactures DGBB, hub bearing units (HBU), and taper roller bearings (TRB), will witness a ~30% increase in capacity. SKF India is planning to invest ₹3,000–3,500 crore here by 2030. The investment is aimed at scaling up production of unitized wheel-end bearings catering to both passenger and commercial vehicles across ICE and EV segments. Meanwhile, the Bangalore unit, which produces DGBB and cylindrical roller bearings (CRB), is set for a ~10% capacity increase with a relatively modest investment of around ₹100 crore. This project is scheduled for completion by 2026 and also supports 2W and EV-related production. This significant capacity ramp-up aligns with SKF India's long-term vision to deepen its participation in the Indian automotive value chain while capitalising on emerging EV trends. With diversified product applications and capex-backed scalability, the company aims to reinforce its leadership in bearing solutions for both traditional and future mobility platforms. Jindal Steel commissions first Galvanising Line at Angul Plant

Jindal Steel has just achieved a major milestone by launching its first Continuous Galvanising Line (CGL 1) at the Angul Integrated Steel Complex in Odisha. This isn't just a new addition—it's a big move that expands the company's range of coated steel products and brings more advanced options to the Indian market. With this new line, Jindal Steel is now rolling out galvanised and galvalume steel under its trusted Jindal Panther Galvanised and ZINKALUME brands. These products are designed to meet the needs of a wide range of industries—from cars and home appliances to infrastructure projects and modern construction. CGL 1 is a cutting-edge setup. It can process steel sheets as thin as 0.15 mm and as wide as 1400 mm, offering top-notch precision and consistent quality. The Jindal Panther range includes everything from full hard to skin-passed galvanised steel—ideal for making things like air conditioners, white goods, electrical panels, ducting systems, silos, vehicle bodies, and storage units. It's also a great base material for PPGI (pre-painted galvanised iron), which is widely used in today's construction world. Meanwhile, the ZINKALUME range features galvalume steel coated with a mix of aluminium, silicon, and zinc. This blend enhances corrosion resistance and heat durability, making the products perfect for applications like refrigerator backs, solar panel structures, fuel tanks, and PPGL sheets. The line is also capable of producing thinner HR galvanised coils, targeted at industries such as tubes, tank farms, silos, and pre-engineered buildings. Additionally, it will cater to the automotive sector with high-strength galvanised steel suited for underbody components. But Jindal Steel isn't stopping here. The company has its sights set on a major capacity boost at Angul, with an additional 6 million tonnes per annum of crude steel production lined up for this year. By the end of 2025, the plant is expected to hit a total capacity of 12 MTPA, making it one of the biggest single-location steel plants in the country.
