Vivo X200 FE and OnePlus 13s: Specs comparison, unboxing videos, and more
New Delhi
With the launch of the Vivo X200 FE, Vivo has entered the fast-growing compact flagship segment, bringing flagship-tier features — like a Zeiss co-engineered camera system — to a more compact form factor. This brings the new Vivo X200 FE in direct competition with the OnePlus 13s, which launched earlier this year in a similar form factor. How do these two smartphones compare? Let's find out:
Price
OnePlus 13: Rs 54,999 (256GB storage)
Vivo X200 FE: Rs 54,999 (256GB storage)
Performance
In terms of performance, the Vivo X200 FE is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 9300+ chipset, while the OnePlus 13s is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite chip. The Vivo X200 FE comes with up to 16GB of RAM and up to 512GB of storage. Meanwhile, the OnePlus 13s is offered with 12GB of RAM paired with up to 512GB of storage.
Display
The OnePlus 13s and Vivo X200 FE offer nearly identical display experiences, with both featuring AMOLED panels measuring around 6.3 inches — 6.32 inches on the OnePlus 13s and 6.31 inches on the Vivo X200 FE. They share the same resolution of 2640x1216 and a 120Hz refresh rate.

RS Software starts work to integrate global payments systems
Kolkata: Tech giant RS Software (India) Ltd, that had built the Unified Payments Interface (UPI) platform in 2015, is now working on a global payments integration platform to facilitate international trade flows. Tired of too many ads? go ad free now The company is also planning to invest over Rs 100 crore over the next five years to bolster the payments network system across the country. Raj Jain, CEO and MD of the company, said: "As UPI gains global recognition, govt has negotiated several bilateral agreements with different countries for the Indian diaspora to be able to pay for their purchases in those countries with UPI. We have worked with NPCI to execute many of these bilateral payment platforms' integration." RS Software is currently looking at bilateral payment platforms' integration in 10 countries, including the UAE, Singapore and France. Samik Roy, the newly appointed COO, will oversee the integration process. In 2024, the value of cross-border payment transactions was $162 trillion. Cross-border payments are challenged by issues like high fees, slow settlement times and poor transparency, making international transactions cumbersome and expensive. "This is where the opportunity is huge to help connect digital payment networks to facilitate global trade flows and make it easy for lower-value cross-border payments," said Jain. After the UPI platform launch, RS Software built the bill payments platform and in 2019 delivered the enterprise fraud and risk platform for the country.

A Rs 2cr prize dedicated to grassroots-level innovators
Infosys Foundation instituted Aarohan Social Innovation Awards in 2018 with the single-minded goal of being a vital platform for identifying and supporting innovative solutions addressing critical societal challenges. Tired of too many ads? go ad free now "These awards reflect our commitment to fostering grassroots innovation across India, with a focus on driving scalable and sustainable social change," says Sumit Virmani, trustee, Infosys Foundation. Now in its fourth edition, the awards span key categories including education, healthcare, and environmental sustainability. The biannual awards were named Aarohan, meaning 'The Ascent,' by Sudha Murty, former chairperson of Infosys Foundation, in an attempt to reflect progress and the transformative power of social innovation. Aarohan has now grown into an ecosystem of innovators, inspiring ideas with the potential for visibility, funding, and large-scale change. With a total prize pool of Rs 2 crore, Aarohan addresses the core problem of funding, a lack of which often stops grassroots-level innovation from taking wings. Individual winners are awarded a prize of up to Rs 50lakh. This year's entries closed on June 22. Aarohan welcomes both early-stage prototypes and market-ready solutions prepared for scaling. The awards recognise that many impactful innovations, particularly in the social sector, stem from the personal experiences or hardships of their founders, the Foundation said in a statement. "Whether the idea is nascent or ready to grow, Aarohan provides critical support to ensure these innovations don't fade away due to lack of resources or amplification. " One of Aarohan's most notable success stories is Prashant Gade, founder of Inali Foundation. Tired of too many ads? go ad free now In 2018, Prashant approached Aarohan at the prototype stage with the Inali Arm, a low-cost prosthetic arm designed for individuals with disabilities who lacked access to expensive care. To date, the Inali Foundation has distributed over 15,000 prosthetic limbs free of charge, offering hope to thousands of individuals. Prashant's vision is to serve the estimated 22 million disabled Indians, ensuring inclusivity and dignity for every individual. "As one of India's most prestigious platforms for recognising social impact, Aarohan is dedicated to identifying and nurturing solutions that address real-world problems with scalable and sustainable outcomes," says Virmani. "From day one, our focus has been on scale because social innovations truly make an impact only when they scale. That's why the Aarohan award isn't a one-time reward—it's tied to periodic milestones to encourage sustainable growth," he says. Beyond the award money, Infosys Foundation also provides access to a community of social innovators and support towards a mentoring and incubation programme to bridge expertise gaps. "This year, we are partnering with leading incubation organisations to offer winners enhanced mentorship, resources, and opportunities for growth. These collaborations will help amplify the impact of their innovations, enabling them to reach wider audiences and deliver transformational solutions more effectively," Virmani adds. Among last edition's (2023) winners, nLite 360 stands out — a portable smart phototherapy device built by Subrahmanyam Prasad Muddam and Akitha Kolloju from Hyderabad. It's battery-powered and designed to treat severe jaundice in newborns, making neonatal care more accessible. In education, Smart Vision Glasses stole the show. Created by Seetharam Muthangi from Bengaluru, these AI-enabled glasses help visually impaired individuals identify objects, people, and read printed material, even in regional languages. In women empowerment category, Shelter Associates, a Pune-based NGO, won for their One Home One Toilet initiative. They've developed a data-driven model to build household toilets for underprivileged women, helping improve hygiene, safety, and dignity.

All panchayats will have high-speed fibre network within 3 years: Telecom Secretary
New Delhi [India], July 14 (ANI): Telecom Secretary Neeraj Mittal on Monday said that all Indian villages will have a high-speed fibre network within the next three years. The central government had launched an ambitious BharatNet programme to connect the villages. The primary objective is to provide unrestricted access to broadband connectivity to all telecom service providers. 'Government of India is spending Rs 140,000 to connect every gram panchayat with 1 gigabit per second connectivity. As we speak, roughly 50,000 panchayats have 1 gigabit per second connectivity with an SLA of more than 98 per cent,' the secretary said, speaking at the CII Global Capability Centers (GCCs) Summit. 'There's a long way to go, and we hope that within 3 years we will have all the village panchayats, which is roughly about 2.5 lakhs, plus the villages associated with it, which is roughly about 6 lakh, will get connected to a high-speed fibre network,' the secretary said. Speaking about GCC infrastructure in India, the telecom secretary said enablers of GCC are very well established in India, referring to the talent pool. 'Be it connectivity, the capability to innovate, the rule of law, or strong IPR protections. All these things make India a very attractive destination,' the secretary continued. Connecting telecom with GCCs, he said internet data costs in India is very low in India against the global average. Data costs are a key component of GCCs. 'We are about 9 cents per GB... USD 2.6 is the global average,' the secretary said. 'India saw one of the largest and fastest 5G expansions. We covered over 99 per cent of the districts. Only there are only two districts in the country where there is no 5G,' he added. Further, the secretary put special emphasise on security aspects, noting that India is amongst the top nations where the cybersecurity infrastructure, policies, response mechanisms, mitigations are top class. Going by definition, GCCs are offshore facilities set up by multinational corporations to manage a variety of business functions and processes for their parent organisations. (ANI)
