In the dazzling world of Bollywood, the reel and real life of celebrities often become a blur. The on-screen chemistry of celebrities is often idealised and widely hailed. One such story is of a on-screen pair whose chemistry lit up the screen, creating an unmatchable magic that ruled the box office.
The duo that we are talking about is none other than Madhuri Dixit and Anil Kapoor. In the late 80s and 90s, this pairing was considered lucky as they delivered hit after hit together. From Tezaab, Ram Lakhan, or Beta, audiences couldn't get enough of their on-screen romance. But behind the magic that they created through their romantic pairing were some behind-the-scenes that never came into the limelight. To execute these perfect romantic scenes, there were stories of discomfort and struggle.
One such moment happened in the year 2000, when Anil Kapoor and Madhuri Dixit shot for a film called Apna Pukar, which was never released in the theatres.
Set in the romantic landscape of Alaska, Anil Kapoor and Madhuri Dixit went to shoot their romantic song called 'Kismat Se Tum Humko Mile' in the sub-zero temperatures. While the location was aesthetically breathtaking, its cold temperature made it physically discomforting for them. Especially because Madhuri had to shoot donning a thin layered chiffon saree in this scorching cold.
During the appearance of Madhuri Dixit and Anil Kapoor on The Kapil Sharma Show, the duo spilled some beans on their behind-the-scenes moments of Apna Pukar. Recalling with joy, Anil Kapoor revealed that he got scolded by Madhuri Dixit during the shoot, and the reason behind that also had us in splits.
Anil said that he was fully covered in layers of warm clothes – a full suit, muffler, gloves, and boots. Whereas Madhuri was donning a delicate chiffon saree. Anil admitted that he suggested that Madhuri wear the saree in such freezing temperatures. He added he even suggested flying a helicopter overhead to generate artificial wind. 'When we were shooting, there was a lot of wind, but then suddenly the wind stopped. But the need of the scene was that the icy winds should continue to blow, and the song should be shot. In such a situation, I suggested to the makers that we should fly the helicopter from above,' he said.
What followed later was an unforgettable moment for Madhuri. As the helicopter hovered to create the desired wind effect, the already freezing Madhuri began to shiver uncontrollably. She said, 'I was turning blue. My face was frozen, and I couldn't even lip-sync properly.' She finally broke down. 'I screamed and shouted for the first time in my life and then started crying,' she confessed.

Anil Kapoor once owned just one flat in a Juhu building; later bought entire property: ‘Every brick has my sweat, blood'

We all know about Anil Kapoor and wife Sunita Kapoor's love story. While the actor struggled to gain a foothold in the Hindi film industry during the early stages of his career, Sunita, a successful model at the time, supported him both financially and emotionally. Eventually, Anil made it big in the film industry. However, he decided not to marry Sunita until he could afford his own home. In an earlier interview with Asian Paints Where the Heart Is, Anil Kapoor shared that he bought his first house after gaining success with Hum Paanch, a TV show he co-produced with his brother Boney Kapoor. He later purchased an apartment in the building where he currently resides and recalled entering the house for the first time with his newborn daughter Sonam. He said, 'Every brick of this house has my sweat, blood and hard work in it. There is no scam, no luck, it is all hard work and blood and sweat. Thought I will propose to Sunita only when I will be able to afford a house.' He added, 'When Sonam was born we came to this house. That was the first time we came to this house.' Anil went on to reveal that though he bought just one floor in the four-storey building at the start of his career, as his success grew, he managed to buy all the floors one by one. He said, 'People make their bungalow into a building, I made a building into a bungalow.' Anil and Sunita's Juhu home exudes old-world charm and elegance. The house has a cozy entrance adorned with artifacts and lush greenery. Inside, there's a dedicated corner for the temple, featuring a beautifully framed idol of Lord Ganesha. The temple also includes a sitting area for prayers. Anil Kapoor also gave viewers a glimpse of his gym and the open terrace, which is stylishly decorated with patio furniture and an abundance of plants. The terrace also features a bar counter and offers a tropical vibe while maintaining privacy for the family. The main highlight of the video was Anil taking viewers to his den — a section of the house he has designed as his personal sanctuary. Styled in a European aesthetic, the actor shared that he wanted the space to remind him of London. The den is furnished with large Maharaja-style sofas and decorated with Renaissance-inspired paintings. A vintage wooden round table adds character, while a chandelier and a view of lush plants outside the windows complete the space's regal yet cozy feel. According to GQ, Anil Kapoor spent around Rs 30 crore to acquire the property in 2000. The property is approximately 10,000 sq ft in size and is located in Mumbai's posh area of Juhu. Apart from the Juhu bungalow, Anil also owns properties in Central London, Southern California, and a spacious apartment in Dubai. According to Lifestyle Asia and publicly available data, Anil has an estimated net worth of Rs 134 crore. While Anil's house reflects vintage elegance, his son Harsh Varrdhan Kapoor's sea-facing apartment introduces a contrasting modern vibe. Located just a short walk from his father's bungalow, Harsh's home features a contemporary design with walls lined with DVDs and furniture built around massive speakers and other tech appliances. He also uses his living room as a personal screening area with a projector installed. One of the most eye-catching aspects of Harsh's home is the huge balcony that offers a stunning ocean view. But what truly stands out is a room he's converted entirely into a shoe closet to house his expansive sneaker collection. Though Anil and Harsh's homes are dramatically different from one another, they beautifully reflect their distinct personalities and the generational contrast between father and son.
