Nostradamus' Prediction: A Weakening Pope
The Fate of the Vatican
Resurging Predictions Amid Pope Francis' Passing
The death of Pope Francis at the age of 88 has sent shockwaves around the world, leaving Catholics and the general public reflecting on his life and leadership. At the same time, an ancient prophecy by the 16th-century French astrologer, Nostradamus, has resurfaced. This prophecy, known for its cryptic and often ominous predictions, has been reignited due to several eerie parallels with the current events surrounding the Vatican. One of the most notable prophecies attributed to Nostradamus mentions a pope who "weakens his see" after the death of an elderly pontiff. This passage has captured the attention of many since the passing of Pope Francis, particularly given his age and the struggles with his health in the last few years. Nostradamus described this pontiff as a "very old" figure, a phrase that seems to align with the recent news of Pope Francis's deteriorating condition, which ultimately led to his passing. The prophecy goes on to suggest that, following the death of this pontiff, a new leader would emerge, one who would be Roman by descent. While Pope Francis was born in Argentina, his Italian heritage has led some to consider that the prophecy may refer to him in a symbolic sense. According to Nostradamus, the successor will "weaken his seat," which has prompted some to reflect on Pope Francis's leadership style, often characterized as progressive and at times controversial. This interpretation suggests that the future of the Catholic Church may see significant shifts.Another layer to Nostradamus' predictions includes the arrival of a "Black Pope" and the potential downfall of the "City of the Seven Hills," a phrase commonly associated with Rome and, by extension, the Vatican. As Pope Francis faced significant health issues, including his recent battle with pneumonia, discussions about a possible successor intensified, and Nostradamus' predictions about turmoil within the Catholic Church gained new relevance. The notion of a "Black Pope" has sparked significant debate. Some believe this could be a reference to a leader from the Jesuit order, to which Pope Francis belongs. Others argue that it symbolizes a broader transformation within the Church's leadership, which could be marked by significant challenges and changes in direction. This interpretation has grown stronger in light of current uncertainties surrounding the Vatican's future. The timing of Pope Francis' death on Easter Monday, coupled with the resurfacing of Nostradamus' grim prophecies, has led to widespread discussion. Some astrologers and enthusiasts of Nostradamus believe that the prophecy predicting the demise of a "very old" pope has now come true. Others point to his predictions about "Peter the Roman," a figure mentioned in Nostradamus' writings as one who will face significant tribulations while leading the Church during its final persecution. The "City of the Seven Hills" is often seen as a symbol of Rome, and some interpretations suggest that this could indicate an impending period of turmoil for the Vatican. The 16th-century French astrologer and seer, Michel de Nostredame — widely known as Nostradamus — remains a figure of fascination for his cryptic quatrains compiled in his 1555 book Les Prophéties. With 942 poetic verses, the collection has been interpreted over centuries to have predicted major historical events, from wars to natural disasters. While some dismiss Nostradamus' writings as too vague or symbolic to be taken seriously, the recurrence of these predictions amid Pope Francis' death continues to spark the imagination of many. Whether viewed as a coincidence or a prescient foretelling of events, the lasting allure of Nostradamus' prophecies ensures that they remain a topic of widespread intrigue.

Arab nations to condemn Hamas for Palestinian statehood recognition: French official

Arab countries will for the first time condemn Hamas and call for its disarmament early next week at a United Nations ministerial event in New York, a move meant to lure more European countries to recognize Palestinian statehood, France's foreign minister said on Saturday. Hamas militants gather at the site of the handing over of the bodies of four Israeli hostages in Khan Yunis in southern Gaza on February 20, 2025(AFP/) In an exclusive interview with French weekly Le Journal du Dimanche, Minister of Foreign and European Affairs Jean-Noel Barrot said the move was part of a long-planned initiative between France and Saudi Arabia. "For the first time, Arab countries will condemn Hamas and call for its disarmament, which will seal its definitive isolation. European countries will in turn confirm their intention to recognize the State of Palestine. Half of European countries have done so, all others are considering it," Barrot told the JDD. "The British Prime Minister has stated his intention to do so. Germany is considering it at a later stage. We will launch an appeal in New York for other countries to join us in order to set in motion an even more ambitious and demanding process that will culminate on September 21," Barrot added. On Thursday French President Emmanuel Macron announced France would formally recognize the state of Palestine at the UN General Assembly on September 21, drawing condemnation from the US and Israel. Earlier on Saturday Italian Prime Minister Georgia Meloni called it counterproductive to recognise a Palestinian state before it is established. On Friday a German government spokesperson said there were no plans to recognise a Palestinian state in the short term. At the upcoming United Nations event on Monday and Tuesday, France and Saudi Arabia plan to lay out a proposed post-war roadmap leading to a two-state solution covering security, reconstruction and governance, which will be compatible with the Abraham Accords negotiated by U.S. President Trump, Barrot said. The French minister added that in coming weeks the European Commission would take a tougher stance on Israel and demand a stop on building of any new settlement projects in the West Bank, and also an end to militarized policing of humanitarian aid distribution. Barrot also called on fellow European countries to demand a removal of the financial blockade on the Palestinian authority so it can receive 2 billion euros he said it is owed.

India signs up for 3-day UN meet for peaceful Palestine

(Pic credit: AP) NEW DELHI: India is expected to participate in the upcoming UN high-level conference on the peaceful settlement of the Palestine question and the implementation of the two-state solution, amid renewed international efforts to end the war in Gaza. According to the list of delegates, 123 countries and agencies, including India, have signed up for the three-day meeting beginning Monday. The conference will be co-chaired by France and Saudi Arabia, both of which are key strategic partners for India. India had earlier voted in favour of a UN General Assembly resolution that called for an international summit in June 2025 to discuss the two-state solution. However, the summit had to be postponed due to the Iran-Israel conflict. US had last month warned countries against participating in the conference, arguing it could undermine ongoing efforts to end the war and secure the release of hostages, according to a diplomatic cable seen and reported by Reuters from Paris and Washington. According to France, the aim of the conference is to chart a path towards the two-state solution through "concrete measures" proposed by eight working groups. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Guapo: Unsold Furniture Liquidation 2024 (Prices May Surprise You) Unsold Furniture | Search Ads Learn More Undo These groups have conducted wide-ranging consultations with UN member states and civil society actors. The conference has drawn global attention, especially following French President Emmanuel Macron's announcement that France would recognise Palestine as a state-making it the first G7 country to do so. The US has condemned France's move and will boycott the conference, along with Israel. India's permanent representative to the UN, P Harish, acknowledged the conference during a recent Security Council session on the Palestinian question. "While engaging in a forward-leaning and constructive manner, it is our hope that this conference would pave the way for concrete steps towards achieving a two-state solution," Harish said, while also calling for an immediate ceasefire and release of hostages. India, which was among 19 countries that abstained from a UNGA vote in June calling for an immediate and unconditional ceasefire, has been in regular contact with the working groups and is expected to offer further inputs during the conference. The level of India's representation at the conference is still being finalised. On Gaza issue, India continues to balance its growing strategic partnership with Israel and its long-standing support for Palestinian cause. "India shares historic and strong ties with Palestinian brothers and sisters. We've stood by them and our commitment towards Palestinian cause is unwavering," Harish said. MEA also reiterated in Parliament on Friday that India remains committed to a negotiated two-state solution, leading to a sovereign, independent, and viable State of Palestine living in peace with Israel within secure and recognised borders.

Pope receives high-ranking Russian Orthodox cleric

Pope Leo XIV, left, shakes hands with Anthony Sevryuk, Metropolitan of Volokolamsk and Chairman of the Department of External Relations of the Russian Orthodox Church, during their meeting at the Vatican. (Pic credit: AP) VATICAN CITY: Pope Leo XIV held a first meeting on Saturday with a senior Russian Orthodox cleric at the Vatican since becoming the head of the Catholic church earlier this year, the Holy See said without giving further details. Leo -- who has called on the Kremlin to make a "gesture" towards peace in Ukraine -- received Metropolitan Anthony of Volokolamsk, the head of external relations at the Russian Orthodox Church. Relations between the Vatican and Moscow has been frosty for centuries. The head of the Russian Orthodox Church, Patriarch Kirill, has sanctified Moscow's Ukraine invasion, which he has described as a "holy war." But Moscow had a dialogue with the late Pope Francis, widely criticised in Ukraine, with Metropolitan Anthony hold around a dozen meetings with the Argentinian pontiff. The Russian cleric told Italian newspaper La Repubblica days before the meeting that Francis had a "balanced approach" on Ukraine, while he did not know Leo's stance yet. Leo is the first American pope. He took over the church at a time when the United States is pushing for peace in Ukraine, in efforts that have so far yielded few results to stop the three-year war. Leo had received Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelensky earlier this month and has also spoken to Russia's Vladimir Putin by phone. The Vatican had earlier this year been floated as a possible platform for peace talks, but that idea was refuted by the Kremlin and negotiations have stayed in Istanbul. Anthony reiterated that, for Moscow, the Vatican would not be a "neutral" ground for any peace talks. Metropolitan Anthony was appointed as head of the Moscow church's external relations in 2022 -- the year Russia invaded Ukraine -- and had earlier been a church envoy in Italy.
