Abhay Verma and Nitanshi Goel In Talks For Shaadi Mein Zaroor Aana Sequel?
New Delhi: Rising stars Abhay Verma and Nitanshi Goel have reportedly been approached for an upcoming love story helmed by Ratna Sinha under the banner of Benaras Media.
Sources close to the development reveal that the project will be second instalment of Sinha's much-loved romantic drama Shaadi Mein Zaroor Aana.
The original film, which starred Rajkummar Rao and Kriti Kharbanda, was re-released in theatres this March, creating a stir of nostalgia among fans and bringing the cult-favourite love story back into the spotlight.
Source says this sequel promises a fresh take on love & choices & this time with a younger & most talented cast at the heart of the story.
Abhay Verma, known for his charm is fast becoming a favourite among filmmakers and audiences alike. With the massive success of Munjya, a big-ticket Bollywood lineup ahead like King, Safed Sagar, JC and Laikey Laikaa to award-winning performances behind him, he's emerging as one of the industry's most bankable Gen Z stars.

Nitanshi Goel, on the other hand, made a stunning debut with Kiran Rao's Laapataa Ladies, soon became mass and industry favourite. She took India on Global level with her achievements at such a tender age with her film going to Oscar to making her Cannes debut at 17 being the youngest actor to do so. Her natural screen presence and emotional range have already won her critical acclaim.
Both actors have not only received accolades for their debut performances but have also proven their box office appeal making them a powerhouse pairing.
While an official confirmation is still awaited, the buzz around this potential Gen Z sequel is only getting louder and audiences may soon witness a whole new love story unfold with echoes of the past and the spark of something fresh.

Here's why Gen Z finds comfort in podcasts
If you have been keeping tabs on what Gen Z is up to, beyond their current obsession with matcha lattes and Labubu dolls, one trend that does not seem to be going anywhere is their love for podcasts. Unlike the fleeting social media fads, podcasting seems to have entrenched itself into Gen Z's daily routine. It is no longer just a flex to listen to podcasts, but a tool shaping their personality altogether! These days, India's top celebrities and even politicians are hopping onto the podcast train, sitting across content creators and chatting about everything, from their nostalgic childhood memories to fintech and beyond. And for Gen Zers, it is definitely not background noise while doomscrolling. 'Podcasting gives you a whole personality, it gives you conversation points among your peers,' says 24-year-old Darshit S., practising law in Chennai. 'Most importantly, what makes it special is how it breaks the wall between the listener and the speaker. It is not like an interview, but more laidback and real,' adds Darshit. The younger crowd is tuning in to podcasts on entertainment, lifestyle, global affairs, and crime, among other topics. What once started as a niche interest has turned into an everyday ritual among the listeners. And it is not just about listening anymore, Gen Zers from Chennai are making their own podcasts — especially college students looking for an outlet. Safa Salsabeel Z., a 22-year-old English literature student from Chennai, has already produced seven podcasts, covering everything from procrastination to how AI is reshaping literature, and even quirky historical topics like the origin of fans in pre-electricity times. For Safa, podcasting isn't just a post-lecture hobby but calls it the loudest form of creative expression. So, what makes podcasts the 'thing' for this generation, you ask. The podcaster breaks it down: 'As Gen Z, we usually gravitate towards podcasts that feel real, relatable, and authentic. We don't always look for perfectly polished interviews, professionally edited shows. What we love are conversations that sound like we are part of them,' says Safa. She further adds topics on mental health, productivity hacks, relationships, identity, personal growth, and even random 'shower thoughts' are what really clicks with her generation. Platforms such as Spotify and YouTube are the go-tos for most Gen Z podcast listeners, including Darshit. 'Honestly, it is not about the video, nothing much usually happens visually. It is all about what they are talking about. Podcasts let you get to know someone, especially celebrities, in a more authentic way. In a podcast, you end up listening your favourite cricketer speak about things you would never get from a well scripted interview in the 90s or 2000s,' he says. Another big draw is that you can learn about any new topic from a well-researched podcast in just a couple of hours. But for many Gen Zers from the city, it is about the comfort of hearing personal stories they can relate to, anecdotes that are a little more human, and banter that makes them feel seen and heard!

Later in the week, a very mysterious box was delivered to my doorstep by a very presentable young man in a uniform. I am quite used to our (always in a hurry) delivery boys who are waiting to drop off your parcels with the wrong security-staff or hurriedly dump your parcels outside your door if one doesn't answer the doorbell fast enough. So I was pleasantly surprised to see a personable young man waiting patiently at the door while this very beautiful parcel was delivered. And what a sense of mystery surrounded it! The bag held a box which unfolded into a chocolate egg which needed to be gently tapped with a wooden mallet (provided) to display the contents within! There wasn't a whimper about where this enigmatic Yan Yan was, which day it was unveiling itself, or where it was! A flurry of phone calls yielded no results but ultimately my good friend, the GM of The Ritz-Carlton, solved the mystery by inviting me to a 'sneak-peek' consisting of his close friends and a smattering of foreign consuls, to an outstanding evening of ambrosia and Chinese food. The vibe of the restaurant sets the pace. One enters to a long bar with outstanding cocktails and small plates, while the level downstairs is for the main courses. The menu is well thought of with the freshest of ingredients and to my surprise, I found myself quaffing the cocktails and their vegetarian-fare, which was outstanding; especially the mushrooms and the stir-fried greens! The world is going through a chaos domino effect and it's scary. Not one to believe in sooth-sayers but… the coincidences are chilling. Enjoy every day, be happy and learn to give precedence to loving yourself more. As the Gen Z says IYKYK (if you know you know)! (The writer's views are personal)
